Was at the shop yesterday to get a Leopard head. Here's what Dano, the artist, came up with. Needless to say I was stoked, even tough it wasn't what I originally had in mind. However its over 9000 times better than what I had in mind and I was very open to suggestions. Which I think he appreciated, you could tell he had a lot of fun doing it and during the smoking breaks, he was constantly checking it out thinking about it. He said while tattooing he's in another dimension. Soo... bold will hold, here's the finished tattoo right after getting stabbed:

Thats not true , @peterpoose 's work gets much love. I like realism , I have some myself. I think this is a place for all tattoos . The great thing about this place too , even if we don't like the style everyone recognises quality. (and no spell-check I refuse to use a Z in recognise!!!)

Oh happy day - just got the news. I'm getting tattooed by Markus Lenhard from Berlin! Bio-organic insect wing on my chest :cool: This is what I love the most. When you've made up your mind about placement, design and artist and you send the first mail to ask if he's interested. I tend to really put an effort in how i first approach an artist. I often rewrite my initial mail 3 to 4 times with some days in between. And when the artist lets you know he thinks you've got a cool idea and wants to tattoo you, it's party time :)

I agree........ I know a lot of the "celebs" and I honestly think their notoriety is what has ruined it for me personally! I mean I like them as people and most of their work....but don't agree with the whole going on TV and such and then the instant success they seem to be granted because of it! I liked the old...smaller venue......and less quantity and more quality! - - - Updated - - - There are still awesome tattoo artists coming to the show so I understand for most people it is very worth going and getting tattooed! Just for me.....my next tattoo is a very big milestone for me and it needs to be done by someone I really have been waiting to get for a long time! I only have one or two "meaningful" tattoos.....but this next one is more of who is going to do it....not what it is!

What kind of style are you thinking of? Because when I think of tattoos in magazines I think of super realistic portraits of Jim Carrey as The Mask, and I hope that's not what you came here asking for.

I've been on a long road trip across America, and on the way, I've gotten my first couple tattoos. The compass rose is from Cassady Bell at Sideshow Odditorium in Portland, OR, the banjo is Ryan McDonald in Nashville TN. My friends definitely give me some shit for having a banjo on my arm, but I love it. Banjos are rad. :cool:

I've finally, albeit tentatively, uploaded a bunch of photos of my half sleeve to my profile! I only say tentatively because they really don't do it justice. I'm fantastically pleased with it, was my first tattoo and had no idea they could even look like this back then. Hope you guys enjoy :)

Haha Thanks @ironchef! Tegaderm was introduced to me by Tim Hendricks when I got tattooed by him on my ribs. I've tried all the different aftercare techniques ... After getting tattooed I wait until I get home and clean my tattoo. I rewrap until the next morning and then I put on the tegaderm. The reason is if you put it on right after you get tattooed there will be too much plasma and parts of the tegaderm will not stick. This may sound crazy but... keep it on for 3 days. The product is crazy because you can take a shower and get it wet also it's made from a breathable material. From my experience what happens is the tegaderm slows down your initial healing which may sound negative but... It's good because when you heal slower there are fewer chances of getting scabs. The peelings are a lot softer too. Reminds me of when you peel from a sunburn. So basically it heals your tattoo slower but heals smoother with no scabs. Negatives?? I really can't think of any.. Garver used it too on his last tattoo he got and he also said how awesome it was. The best place to buy it is on ebay !!!!! - - - Updated - - - I will post a pic on my instagram account @Killercook76 . I got my tattoo 11 days ago and it's almost healed... If you have any other questions please ask and I'll do my best to answer you from my experiences.

I have wanted tattoos for years but I had this overwhelming fear of getting something and then hating it 10yrs down the road. Two yrs ago I took my 77yr old Nanna on her dream trip to Hawaii. One day I took the afternoon alone and went on an adventure to find the royal birthing stones. All by myself surrounded by earth as red as blood dying my feet and rain clouds over head I found them. I sat down in awe of the whole scene when a small break came in the clouds. As the sunlight hit the stones it highlighted these petroglyph's of turtles etched deep in the stones. I can have what I ( as a non religious person) can call a purely spiritual moment. I cried like I have never cried before. By the end of experience I felt completley refeshed and more at peace than I have ever been at any other time in my life. As soon as I got home I got my first tattoo on my wrist. A turtle for each of us exactly like the ones I saw on the birthing stones, and a flower for the islands now so dear to my heart

I need to take more photos of my art. I drew up this peacock feather design for a co-worker of mine about 2 years ago. She got the feather tattooed down her right ribcage about a week later. Apologies for the poor photo quality.
