  6. For your consideration. Just got this yesterday from Beau Brady while he was at Invisible NYC this week and a few forum members suggested I put it up in here. Thanks!

  7. This was done by Gina at Studio 69 Tattoo on Long Island, NY last month. Picture is right after it was finished. I have a follow up appointment on 1/8 to complete the forearm sleeve. Rob

  9. Haha, it's kind of true! definitely not an absolute truth, but I think tattoos give a lot of people a greater sense of courage and confidence.

  10. Just finished off my right shoulder. It's now linked with my chest piece. I'll post a pic next week, when I finish the other shoulder. As usual the work was done by Tim Pausinger at The Pearl. I'm also on the cancellation list for Mark Cross who is guesting at The Pearl in a week or so. His schedule filled up fast! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Thanks @TaeTae - it's obvious now you say so. He always has a good look at how stuff has healed but with it all having been fine up to now, well, yeah... :o @TrixieFaux thank you kindly! I've often admired your roses.

Dang yah the people I go to usually have to plan a good full month ahead. It will give me time to think and save $$ though :p Thanks for the info guys and the intro here. I am glad I found this forum. I feel like almost everyone has tattoos but only a handful of people really CARE and cherish their art and who actually know what they are talking about. Good to know those people are here

  17. Thanks, @guitguy. I'm really looking forward to getting it finished. As for finding out about guests, I find out usually from being in the shop and talking to people. I don't think they regularly post about guests on their website. I don't think the shop has a twitter feed either.

  19. And this happened yesterday! I love Caturdays. By Horitomo at State of Grace (duh!). The outline and black shading are by machine. The white shading is by tebori. My first tattoo that uses color ;-) http://www.intagme.com/horitomo_stateofgrace/625645608470926116_177828155/ I swear I have the fugliest feet in all of Hobbiton. Ha! Well, before the tattoo that is.

While we generally don't like to talk specific numbers/prices around here, I would say it makes sense. Most people have no idea what a quality tattoo costs. It is going to be on you for the rest of your life - going cheap makes no sense at all.

  21. Off topic, but I recently discovered my Chinese zodiac animal is a goat, and my element is metal. That gives me one more reason to get a demonic goat design some day...

  25. Me and @Pugilist got matching tattoos again. This is from Doc Forbes flash and was done by Chris Hold at Sacred Heart Tattoo in Vancouver, BC. It was a super fun one and Chris was a great dude to get tattooed by. Couldn't be happier with the tattoo and the whole experience.

Hey all, I just joined and started flicking about thoroughly enjoying this thread only to come across this guy here! I live in melbourne and the guy with the chad koeplinger in Rough Operators post is my good friend who I was drinking a beer with only hours ago. This piece looks amazing now that its fully coloured and complete, I'll see if I can find a photo somewhere! Small world, great thread! Here's a sizzler from El Bara, from Madrid.

  27. Thanks, yeah I love Memoir. Shawn is great, as is Brendan Rowe. Shawn came up with the idea to frame my little forearm owl in a playing card instead of covering it up. Your Tibetan skull is so good.

  28. It's been two weeks since I had outlines done on my back and I'm surprised how well it's healed. Haven't been using any lotion whatsoever, but have been taking extra showers and washing with unscented soap. Taking showers the first few days after getting the tattoo done though... felt like having tiny razorblades cutting up my whole back.

    what's it mean?

The one on my back can only be seen if I am shirtless since tank tops cover it up but when I posted it on FB, people did ask what the arabic script said so I explained. The one on my arm, so far, no one has really asked at all. A lot of people, especially ones with tattoos, I think, don't really care much unless they see a tattoo they really like and comment on it. I was and still am the one who will look at someone's tattoos and compliment them on it. I might ask more but I think it's nice for someone to hear something good about their tattoos, make them feel good about them. Cuz who knows what backlash they may have gotten from family, etc

How do you find out about guests at the Pearl ? I check their blog often but never see guests announced. Twitter or some such thang I don't engage in...yet....I suppose...

I have a cousin that had some work done there. Her work done by Christine.... In the Phoenix Area you HAVE to go to Immaculate Tattoo in Mesa. Aaron Coleman is a master and he will not disappoint.

    Ink Masters

I feel like every time I turn on the tv there's some new show and they are all fucking horrible. Best Ink, Tattoos After Dark, Black Ink Crew, that one with the two doofuses in Vegas...Say what you will about Ink Master, but at least there's a slight shred of credibility with Oliver, Nunez, and some killer judges.

    How about an art show?

tried out using a thicker outliner pen than usual, and still trying to push myself with using more colours/any colours at all goofed it up in a few places but its all practice ey?

  40. If it's a legit shop with legit tattooists, who cares? It can bring in new customers and it's kind of fun. Taylor Street in Chicago usually does Friday 13th, they're "$13 + $7 tip" and usually just line work, but they're fun. Nothing BAD. Same with Halloween, usually something. I've gotten a few and they're cool and done well. They also do "Traditional Tuesdays" were you can drop $50 and get a cool classic Rollo or Jerry (or other) designs. Name day, "Get what you get" ($50, gum ball machine with random flash, fun for everyone!) I've also had larger work done there too so it's not like I'm a total cheap skate. If all you want tattooed are large tattoo's in certain styles, yeah, not for you. If you love little jammers now and then, just make sure it's a good shop. To me, it's a combo of just fun and a solid way to draw new people into your shop. So no harm, no fowl. I don't see it as something only "kitchen wizards" do or something to turn your nose up to. If a shop DOESN'T, good, that's their thing. Not for everyone. If you're a jaghole who calls every shop looking for a deal, screw off asshole. If it's not on their website, or FB, or Instagram, or whatever, don't go bugging hard working people with your shit.
