Congrats @Reyeslv!! Please PM @steve1461686340 with your shirt info (size and male or female) along with your address. Thanks to everyone for your submissions! New contest will be up later today.

ooh ooh, and I have my next appointment w/Kim on Friday. Last or second to last on this right arm raven/roses/jewels sleeve. @DJDeepFried just leaned over my shoulder and said, "Oh what are you writing? Like you're some big whoop." :D This is what it's come down to. Yes, I am a big whoop but I could never steal your Seth Wood thunder.

You never answered my question about your own tattoos. Let's hear about them, better yet, let's see pictures of them, because I'm starting to suspect that you aren't actually interested in tattoos beyond how you can use them for personal gain, and this really isn't the place for that.

  9. @Reyeslv Congratulations!!!! You totally earned it, your backpiece is waaaaay cool

  11. If you do, I doubt you'll be able to listen to kanye stuff anymore. El-p has been relentlessly producing some of the best music for the last decade. Check out cannibal ox and some of vast aire's solo stuff too. He's an innovative lyricist.

  14. Aw what the hell. I wasn't going to post this because, most of what I see here is just so epic. This isn't particularly epic but, I like it just the same. This was my first real 'impulse' tattoo. I was hell bent on getting some kind of little banger as a souvenir of an awesome trip to Vancouver. I wanted to get something done at Gastown but they were fully booked so I walked around til I found a place that had time for a walk in. Normally I would be a lot more fussy but, I wanted it right then and there. I had always wanted a sparrow/swallow, and I liked the date so I threw that in too. Vancouver is the place of my birth and although I haven't lived there since infancy, it always feels very strongly like home when I'm there. So, yeah..... :) Oh, and, pardon the nipple LOL

  18. There are a ton of people who can do great traditional tattoos in Brooklyn. If you want to real traditional, you can get tattooed by Tony Polito or Mike Perfetto. Smith Street (in Carroll Gardens), Greenpoint Tattoo (Greenpoint), Flyrite Tattoo (Williamsburg), Hand of Glory (Park Slope) will all give you a great tattoo. Plenty of options available.

@Graeme, I'm getting a kickass Japanese-style dragon 7/10 sleeve w/ sakura, I think. Going past the elbow -- new territory for me re: tattoo visibility, which admittedly makes me a little nervous for some reason...

  23. Even better -- they're giving it away for free! EL-P + KILLER MIKE = RUN THE JEWELS I don't know why I have a soft spot for Kanye. He's like an idiot savant, but a smart one. Yes, he's a total jackass but that adds to the weird mystique, I think. For sure he's been listening to Death Grips. I like the rawness and that he's trying to make Art with a capital A -- unlike say Jay-Z who's just putting out more "product" for the masses.

  24. @DJDeepFriend and @HaydenRose, I really wanted to like Yeezus, but just couldn't get into it. I love Twisted Fantasy and it still gets tons of play. I'll have to give Yeezus another shot. I also really need to check out this EL-P and Killer Mike record. Everyone I've heard mention it raves about it.

I'm afraid you won't find much encouragement for such a venture here. If someone who is an actual part "the tattoo world" wanted to reproduce a tattoo design on a wall, they would likely go to a tattoo artist, most of whom also paint, and commission them to paint one.

Tough crowd.. I too would like to see your tattoos if you have any and some of your previous work.. What your talking about sounds pretty cool, personally if suggest meeting and getting to know some artists and maybe have them work with you on a project like like this.. Gone about correctly no one would be offended  and you could turn out some cool stuff..

  37. I had really worked on getting fit in 2012 and it culminated in me completing a Tough Mudder that October. then the holidays came and I got out of the habit and never really could stay consistent in 2013. So now I'm trying to commit to doing more in 2014 and have completed my first day of a 30 burpies for 30 days challenge. That should get me back on track.

  38. @HaydenRose "I am a god So hurry up with my damn massage In a French-ass restaurant Hurry up with my damn croissants" The man is the poet laureate of our generation. @Graeme Never saw 'em live. MBV was one of the best shows I ever saw -- back in the '90s. (The LSD helped.) Not so crazy about the new album so it didn't make the cut. Disappointing after a twenty year wait.

My mother didn't find out until I was in my 30's. She came to visit and I had just jumped out of the shower when she knocked on the door. I knew it was her and didn't want her to wait as she drove from SF to Vegas. I opened the door and she said, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!?!.... I broke the news that I've had them since I was 19 and it's time she knows.... During my most recent and meaningful pursuit of tattoos she was supportive and knew how much I loved them... Funny how the relationship changes after time.....

  45. I definitely agree. You are nailing it, Carolyn. Richard Smith did this cool ass reaper on my thigh, and he can't be older than 25 or 26. As a 24 year old, I enjoy getting tattooed by people close to my age. When he put this on me he said he had been tattooing for two and a half years.
