    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

have been waiting a year for Martin Lacasse to guest at Congress St Tattoo in Portsmouth, nh. So worth the wait. I love this tattoo and Martin is a super cool dude. An amazing experience!!! Longest session i've ever sat through, clocking in at 4 and 1/2 hrs. Pics are a bit bloody, but i think the detail still shows.

  5. Just remembered that I forgot to post pictures from my visit to LA/SF, but better late than never I guess. My only regret is not taking more. Some spots we visited (Bottom left is @ian (left) and me outside Temple Tattoo) @hogg and I have matching torch and spider fillers... As is that wasn't enough @scottSylvia gave us matching LST ban hammer tattoos a few days later. This is from the first of two sessions I had on my back with Grime. A few souvenirs When I returned to LA Bob Roberts gave me this All in all a great trip, and I cannot wait to visit again next year! I'll try to take more photos then too :)

    Top of the morning!

My name is Morten Marbel Loenning and I have been tattooing for almost 17 years now since I started my apprenticeship in 1997. I am 39years old and lives in Dietzels birth town of Fredrikstad, Norway, where I have a private studio. As for social media I do not have a home page, but are linked to both FB and IG. Many of the great interviews here I have seen via You Tube and now Im exited to get to know the rest of the forum content. The forum was introduced to me by a good friend. Thank you. Morten Marbel:)

  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtAYPUvHCrs&app=desktop Really enjoying the new inqusition album a ton. Production is slick but still has more dirt then the last album. Enjoying it. Love his riffs and how he can make interesting songs without trying to be overly reparative

  15. Holy shit I just came up with a great Halloween costume. If you do have full sleeves, you could just put sheer stockings over them and pretend to have the fake sleeve things on.

  16. Ha! You nailed it! I also get the, "Wow, it's going to look so good when it's finished". Or the awkward, "Oh! Ummmmm, errrrr, yeah, um I guess you can get it colored in if you want to later". response when I tell them it is finished.

  17. just tell them you like to colour them in w/whiteboard markers to match your outfit :)

  18. I would've assumed that most people know how tattoos like that will look in 10,15, 20 years from now... Those paint splats and skid marks would make much better.. well much better something besides tattoos.

  22. I guess this is probably a bad month to enter given how great the tattoos posted so far are. But I see that as a good thing, it just means more people are out getting great tattoos. Anyways, I've already posted this in he latest tattoo lowdown, but here it is: Phil Hatchet Yau at Tahiti Felix's Master Tattoo, 4 hours, one-shot:

That would definitely be an amazing one to own some day. I'm banking on being in the sequel with ironchef and moisttowelette. I do believe Dana has a suit in it.

  25. I'd like to second the sentiment on avoiding skimping on the piece. I've got some tattoos I paid through the nose for, but I'm much happier that I did that than went for a cheapo. Also, keep in mind that you won't be paying that all at once. You'll most likely have to wait to get your first session, then wait again for your second session, then again for your third, etc.

  34. Finished this today. Pharaoh's Horses is one of my favorite classic images. Overall pretty happy with it, just wish I had picked darker colors or left it completely black and grey. Luckily this is the first and probably not the last time I will visit this image.

@kylegrey, Yes I am totally interested in Toshikazu Nakamura's work. It seems very old school. I'm thinking that as a Tokyo native, I want to go to a Tokyo artist though. @ironchef I'm interested in Horimitsu's work too. The red dragon back piece he did is phenomenal. Very progressive take on mikiri.

  39. I can't believe that no-one has mentioned true love yet, a great tattoo show from Italy. Great tattoos, no drama, and a good host that is getting tattoos as the show goes on. It's too bad that was short lived.

  42. Got this From Phil Hatchet Yau at Tahiti Felix's Master Tattoo while visiting San Diego this weekend. One-shot, 4 hours. Very happy with it. Super cool tattoo shop, with tons of original flash from the 50's and some from even earlier. Phil is super nice and seems like a great dude.

  44. Honestly, I'm starting to feel the same.. After having trouble finding a spot for a palm sized tattoo when I was in SF it really hit me. Since January 1st I have been tattooed 10 times (and got tattooed 2 days before new years this year). I also am getting tattooed on Friday and then again on December 4th. So that will make it 13 before New Years again. Last year I got tattooed around 15 times. As much as I say I want to slow down a bit, I love traveling and I love tattoos and getting them. I'm already planning to go to the Philly convention in February and then getting tattooed by Rob Ryan the day before the convention.. Also planning a trip to Ann Arbor in April to get tattooed by Jeff Zuck & Cole Dunn.. maybe after then I will take a little break

  45. Haha, every time someone says something like that around me, I join in and say something like "Yeah what a bunch of degenerates." Since I am fairly soft spoken about my tattoos at my job, and they are all concealable, there are a lot of people that don't know I have anything. - - - Updated - - - Someone was telling me they had a female acquaintance who had a snake tattooed up her leg. They were insistent that it was insinuating that it meant the acquaintance was a whore because she has "snakes aka penises" going up her leg. I wasn't even heard when I tried to say that snakes are incredibly popular imagery, and the front of the leg is a great spot. Then I mentioned the snake on my butt and then they clammed up, haha.

  46. I once had a little girl of maybe 5-6 years old comment on my tattoo in the grocery store, she loved the colors. Then she followed it up with "My mommy has a snake on her boob!" She didn't exactly whisper it - but said it really loud and pointed at her mom! I get the usual questions; Are they real, does it hurt, WHY, you're not getting anymore are you??! and in general a lot of people who want to talk to me about their ideas, as if I'm some walking tattoo expert who knows exactly what would suit this random stranger I've exchanged about four words with.

  48. Don't mention the cancellation list. Make it for those dozen or so who are really committed! Also, when I saw the title of this post I thought it was about blacklisting names.. which I think is also a good idea. If you're a no-show more than a couple times, extra flaky or obviously having drug time in the bathroom, you get blacklisted. Like at Hop Sing's.

  50. I was working in this little streetshop a few years back that was filled with tons of crappy flash, one dead ass winter day, my co-worker and I each picked the 3 craziest/funniest/shittiest pieces we could find, made copies, wadded them up, threw them in a cup, shook it and drew one each. I got the "Original Tattoo Brand™" Punkrock duck.
