Yes I think the nipple has to go but he went close to it tonight and I cam tell already its going to be hell lol He wanted to do something completely different from roses and ships as he is bored shitless with them so I said go crazy, I think he is adding upside down headphones below lol Its definitely different and I think it will look awesome when completed. He is one of the nicest artists I have met also! We did 11 hours tonight on this, sorry for the moob shots and the shit pictures from my phone :) images screenshot pc how to make screen shot

I noticed you made two threads about the exact same thing, both in the initiation section and never introduced yourself or put forth the effort to participate enough to be able to start your own thread. Really evaluate your efforts regarding tattooing and ask yourself if you are taking the same short cuts. I posted in the other thread as well before noticing this one.

  7. Out of town too often? This is hard work and dedication; what you are willing to sacrifice? Home life? Play time? Traveling? It better be all of those things. Have you spent money getting tattooed any the shops you went to? Or are you just going in asking strangers to teach you a trade? Go get heavily tattooed at one of these shops, and maybe they'll take you more seriously. Go every week. Invest in your future career; that is, if tattooing is right for you. It's not for everyone. Btw; telling us that you are looking at machines and 'kits' on eBay was about the dumbest thing anyone has posted all week.

  8. And here is my entry for this month, my 'Tamatori-Hime' sleeve (the one with the octopus ) that we finished today (with a bit brutal 5 hour session. This sleeve (and my other sleeve) are made by Bonel from Corazon Santo tattoo studio in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

  9. Some things to think about: -tattooing a craft, blue collar work. Like a blacksmith, carpenter, etc -tattooing (almost always) involves two people -medical training is necessary on a fundamental level -tattooing is an extremely difficult and specialized thing to do These are aspects of the job that are not widely publicized nor very glamourous. Taking all of that into account, are you willing to compromise other people's health and self image because you are too impatient to do it the right way? And given the last point especially, it isn't something you do as a hobby. If you scratch at home, you always have a foot out the door. You can stop any time you like, nobody will be there to hold you accountable and make you want to get better. I'm not being condescending per se, just letting you know that the hard way is the only way and tattooing is por vida.

  14. Got this a few days ago from Jason Reeder at Little Vinnie's in Finksburg, MD. Going to hopefully get it colored at the end of the month. Not the greatest pic because 1) it's hard to get a picture of your own leg, and 2) it's getting into the peely/scabby stage and not looking its best at the moment. But you get the idea. It wraps onto my shin a little because we both wanted to expand the theme in the future and wanted to leave lots of calf space open. Thinking about turning this into a leg sleeve for nocturnal/crepuscular plants and animals.:p

  15. I'd taken about a good month and a few weeks off of running due to getting sick and just feeling like rubbish. My mood and waistline definitely started to notice. I got a good 4.5 miles in this evening and I hope to keep this up. @Pleadco congrats! I'm an animal person, but my orange cat is my little prince.

  19. Man, what have I been up to lately... I feel like I never have much to contribute to this thread because most of my life involves tattooing and making art. I went down for a dental consultation and got to visit California Electric Tattoo Parlor in Soquel, that was a cool experience. So much beautiful flash in that shop! I just got a new batch of business cards, designed a tshirt for our shop, and am finishing up a painting that I will be mailing off soon. I went to see a band on Monday that I've been an avid fan of for the last 6 years, that was really great. Oh and we just hired a new artist, I'm really stoked to have her around. We have a lot in common as far as interests, but our art looks pretty different so it's been motivating. And of course I got to meet several wonderful LSTers over dinner last month.

  24. The only time it really bothers me when people talk shit about tattoos/people's tattoos is the situations when I can't say anything back. This really only happens around coworkers. My favorite being "that poor shmuck will never have a job as good as ours with all that shit drawn on him". I thought to myself, if only they knew... The "never get a job" comments seemed to be the ones that bother me the most, whether directed at me or not. My career is practically my life and to say such things is such a stupid comment that is very ill-informed. This being backed up by the fact that one of the most successful people I know regularly gets tattooed at the same shop as me. I think this misconception will continue as use "closet tattooed folk" never really show any tattoos around coworkers/bosses so the myth will continue.

  27. A great shop to visit, if anyone has the chance. The 'stab city' thing is interesting. Limerick did (does?) have a pretty ferocious reputation for violence and your average Irish person probably does have a bit of a prejudiced view of what it's like as a city (mind you, parts of Belfast and Dublin have similarly negative reputations). I know that some people in Limerick did get pissed off that the phrase was being being propogated / bandied around, but when you hear Ross talk about it there he's clearly thought about it from a few angles and I like the way they've kind of subverted the whole thing in a light-hearted way. I've gone down to All Star to get tattooed by guest artists a fair few times, but shockingly I've never actually been tattooed by either Ross or Paul - got to remedy that. If anyone's interested in that kind of thing, Paul is doing some of the best tribal around these days, in my opinion. If you follow his instagram account he throws up a lot of pictures of fix-ups and repair jobs he does on older botched tribal jobs - pretty interesting. There's a big rugby scene in Limerick and they're all into the tribal, I think that's why some of the Leo Zulueta-style spiky black tribal never went out of fashion there.

  31. I understand where you're coming from, but you've got to do things (like get tattooed) for yourself and not for other people, or worry about your decision's affect on other people. I used to care about what others thought about me, everyone does, but then I decided to do what felt right to me and now I love myself SO much more with tattoos than without.

  34. So around June I was in shit shape and I said I was going to get back into working out. I started running for cardio and free weights for muscles. My diet is mostly meat, fruit, veggies. Not because I really have a strict diet it just works for me and I over do it on sugar and when i eat carbs I over do it but really im trying to find a real balance. So now im at around 3 5k runs a week and weights about 3 times a week. I can do all this at home or around my house. I went from no push ups to 12, no pull-ups to 1 or on a good day 2 and 60sec planks...I fell really good but I want more. Im doing more weight and started doing some low weight squats and deadlifts. I notice that while my cardio is really improved (i went from barely going a block in june to 5k's) but i feel like my weight training is a bit less improved and while ive lost alot of wieght im not seeing much build of definition going on (maybe im expecting too much too soon). I just want to know for someone like me thats really on his first 4 months of really trying to get in shape...whats a good suggested work out plan? What muscle groups do you pair up? What can I do to not hurt myslef but really push and maybe see some more gain/definition. Im open to try anything and really just seeing what people suggest. If I missed a good post in the past on this sorry.

  41. Thanks man! Finished the arms earlier this year and started onto the back in September. Have 5 sessions scheduled between October through December...then one in January and one in February. Should have everything finished the earlier half of 2014...hopefully. Rodrigo is a great guy, mad humble, and killer with a sharpie marker. Like how he keeps it classic looking and adds his "angry black" style to the back grounds which keeps it looking strong as hell. Mike

I love learning new skills and I think my wife and friends will also benefit from the development of my cooking skills. Also, it means I can finally justify buying jeans with an elastic waist! I'm 42 but feeling like a well-fed 68 year old.
