Just came across this video on State of Grace and thought I'd share it. Some nice interviews with the artists.

@Graeme and I are supposed to get impulsive tattoos this afternoon (from the shop around the corner from our old place, as a way of celebrating our time there!). I think he's going to wuss out. Peer pressure him here!

  5. If you have less than 10 posts, and you post more than 4 links in a post, it will get auto-moderated. When that happens, our moderators will usually approve it w/in a day or so if it's not spam. There are also keywords that can trigger auto-moderation like 'buy cheap tattoo supplies' etc.. Thanks for your patience w/ these anti-spam measures that sometimes catch legit posts like yours. 6. End Of An Era And The Beginning... - Luke Wessman - Self Made Tattoo Artist There is some cool photos of Dave's shop in San Diego on Luke Wessman's site. There is just one angle of influence he had on tattooing, it's hard to really define what each persons role in history of tattooing is, but Mr Gibson definitely has one. I hear so many different stories about the guy good and bad, but his stuff speaks for itself and his influence is undeniable. Funny when I look at pics I think about how similar our shop looks to that, and then I read I find out there is a good reason for that, Terry Tweed helped him set up that shop. Our shop is not exactly set up like Terry's shop, but our owner spent a whole decade working at Terry's shop, so there is a lot of his influence on how a shop should be set up.

  7. Thought I'd post this here. I put it up in the 'awesome things you have been doing' thread but, I'm pretty proud of this so, here it is again ;) This is Jon Knight and Soulstack, a band that I play in, from our show at the Montreal Jazz Festival this past Saturday. I might be the guy with the gold guitar ;) Thanks for watching.

    Hello Sailor!

Hi, I've been a tattoo enthusiast for a few years now and I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the artist interviews on this site so thought I'd finally sign up to the forum. I'm a big fan of Japanese tattooing and have 2 three quarter sleeves done by Diego Azaldegui in Leeds UK. I'm currently deciding on what I want for my back piece and hoping to get started on that soon.

Do you happen to have a photo of your Steve Byrne tattoo? I'd love to see it; he does some of my favorite tattoos. I've heard great things about the book, and yes, Hector does amazing tattoos. I'm thinking maybe a rose of no man's land, or a leopard/panther/tiger head. Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll be stunned by it.

    Who is Dave Gibson?

He wasn't telling stories, he was just tattooing a parrot on a guy, chatted a bit, mentioned some story that was a filming of starsky and hutch and bob shaw... I wasn't trying to intrude on his conversation. But, I was encouraged to get a tattoo from him, so he's next on my list. that parrot was dope af

Very lucky to be heading to New York (from Melbourne) for the first time in around 8 weeks. Have the following plans or bookings: Robert Ryan - chest piece Mark Cross - couple of palm-sized beauties Bailey Hunter Robinson - bison head Smith Street - assorted flash from the wall I'm planning on condensing the appointments at the start of the trip as I dont want to impact too much on my wife and daughters trip. Would love to hear fellow posters experiences of condensed appointments.

    acetate stencils

Curious if anyone else in here collects old acetate stencils? I would really like to have a peek at other peoples collections. For some reason I almost enjoy collecting stencils more than flash. I just like holding an old acetate in my hand and imagining how many people got tattoos from it. Here are some of my collection. I have a bunch more I need to take pictures of. Bob Shaw Owen Jensen
