Alright, so I got my first tattoo. Marie Sena, Dedication Tattoo, Denver

Glennie from The Pearl finished off my left forearm yesterday with a little sparrow, a wee anchor, and a field of dots and stars. I am very pleased with the results.

The boyfriend and I took a vacation to Florida for a week. At the end of the week we made the drive up to Jacksonville and both got tattoos from Jesse Gordon at Inksmith and Rogers. I got a vampire lady and he got a vulture.

Just got this googly-eyed little weirdo last night from John Raftery at Fun City. I'm calling him "Elwood." Pretty happy with it.

Hella drinking with friends. You know your tattooed when you can pull your pants down in front of strangers and it's ok because you are showing your tattoos.

Dagger through neck eagle/snake on chest = badass. Love it......

Attending all the events associated with my baby sister's graduation this weekend!! She's now a Master in Speech-Language Pathology (just like me!!!! :D) I'm so unbelievably proud of her!!!!

LIfe goes on and we just got an mri on a healthy baby! Due in September sorry for big size I am not internet savvy BOY!

Just had my Medusa done by Stu Pagdin at Progression Tattoo Adelaide. Unfortunately we ran out of time to finish the rest of the coloring but I'm pretty stoked with it! Will be finished on the 28th.

Hey! I am brand new. Jumping in at the deep end. I love this forum - been lurking for ages! I had this namakubi done by Danny Rossiter from Rain City in Manchester, UK. He's from New Zealand but has been tattooing here for years now, very talented and very underrated! Didn't an awesome tiger win last time??

It all depends on the event, how busy it is and the people involved. But for the most part when people say no changes, they mean no changes. Making something orange, instead of red seems like an easy request, but once you start that, you have to start entertaining everyone's color requests and I know from experience if you allow people any input they want all the input. That being said, it may not be no big deal for the person doing it, but you just never know and remember you are getting what you pay for in these scenarios. Edit BTW i think the coolest one of these special tattoo days I can remember was done about 8 years ago here in portland for Halloween. You basically stuck your arm or leg into a curtain, you didn't know who was tattooing you or what you were getting until the tattoo was done, but you did get to look at the sheet, you just had to be cool with getting anything on there. I didn't get tattooed, but it seemed like a fun idea.

Terrible pictures, but finally got some color on my koi sleeve from Rodrigo Melo out of Northstar tattoo (NYC). Opted for a black koi with yellow and red highlights, the other koi on my shoulder will be similar. Also got this a couple months ago from Kyle Sajban out of Red Rocket Tattoo (NYC). I may very well get my back piece from Adam Hays from Red Rocket. He did two AMAZING back pieces at a recent convention (well atleast the outline) and his style is amazing. adamguyhays is his IG, and within his last 20 pictures has the back pieces im talking about (dragon and tiger).

This is a great thread. When I first started getting tattooed I wasnt into gals that had tattoos on their arms or really anywhere visible. Then when I started getting more tattoos women with more tattoos started to grow on me. Then when i decided I was going to be a tattooer and I fully sumerged myself into the whole culture I then started to find women heavily tattooed far more attractive than woman without. I think it is mostly like everyone has been saying that an untattooed woman wouldnt quite grasp how big of a part the world of tattooing is in my life. If they couldnt share the same passion then it would be really hard to find other things in common. Especially being a tattooer myself, most of the women I meet now days are in tattoo shops or at conventions. Luckily for me my old lady loves tattoos and the culture. I met her when she came in to get a tattoo re-worked. When we met almost a year ago she only had 5 tattoos. She now is almost complete with one sleeve and her back piece is drawn up. She had always loved tattoos but was affraid she wouldnt be able to find a guy that would accept her for her tattoos. Then when she met me she realized that i would love her with her tattoos and she went for it!

I was hoping to book with Chris Garver but unfortunately due to his rate I decided to decline. But coincidentally I just got lucky and booked an appointment with Russ Abbott who is doing a short guest spot near me in Mass this summer. He's doing a clipper ship for me, I love his work.

In LA to get my back finished by Eddy Deutsche and got this wolf from him and a color portrait of my wife by Bob Roberts.

In many years time, his friends will be telling tales of great adventures and all there achievements in life, and if nothing else Joe will be able to turn around and simply say "I got a walk in with Valerie Vargas". Win/end conversation.

My grandad (who died when i was 6) was in the Navy and i can remember sitting on his knee when i was about 4 tracing the swallow on his hand with my fingers while we watched the Disney version of Robin Hood. its actually my earliest memory :) When i began getting tattooed i knew i'd want a swallow and i do have one on my forearm. No one else in my family has any tattoos, it was only him.

I don't remember the reaction on the first one but.. now as I'm up to 20-something tattoos each new one gets less and less negative reactions. At first it was like "Why are you doing this? You are destroying your body! It is ugly" Now it's more like "Hmmpf.. another one.." I guess that's a good thing. It has been mainly my mother who has been negative about the whole thing and I kept telling her that she will have to accept it, that I will cover my most of my body and that's that.

@Wilhell posting his back piece made me curious to look up Marius Meyer. Saw this killer front.
