Walk in style by Wade Hex at Port City Tattoo in Long Beach, CA. I had no idea what I wanted to get. First thing that popped into my head was "geisha lady head". What a stacked crew over at Port City. Vastly underrated. I'd love to get tattooed by anyone at that shop... Eric Jones, Tom Moser, Uzi, Jack Mauk, Renan, Wade Hex... heavy hitters.12 points

I love lady heads, at last count, I have 14. Beautiful big eyes and long eyelashes get me hooked each time. My latest tattoo in progress, is a large lady head on my back by @Valerie Vargas She is gorgeous. In my opinion, you can never have too many lady heads !!! :))11 points -
is it different for ladies to get lady heads? i only have a couple right now, but wonder what my wife would think if i got 1 or 2 more. it's a little more difficult to tell my wife to sod off. =) for the most part, she doesn't care what i get... but she might have a hard time letting me get a back piece like this...6 points

I just had another appointment with Jill Bonny on my backpiece on Saturday. Have another apopintment on May 11th where Kumonryu will be complete and my back will only need background. Then I take a break from my back and in June I have an all day appointment with Horitomo to start both arms. Super excited!4 points -
My ankle coverup so far
gougetheeyes and 2 others reacted to sbhikes for a topic
I had a 20-year-old ankle bracelet of small flowers I have hated for pretty much all 20 years. Last night I went in for my cover-up. It is not finished. Here is the side that is done. I think it is done anyway. Here's the front Here's the side that isn't done where you can see the old stuff Here's where it meets in the back I lack any artistic skill so basically it was all up to the artist. My only suggestion was bigger flowers and then after he drew them and there was that empty space in the front, I suggested those red ball thingies. He's a genius as far as I'm concerned. Look at those amazing leaves! Even the leaves are beautiful. I was really scared when I saw how big he was going but oh my god, look at how nice it looks on my big fat leg! We ran out of time last night and I was getting pretty swollen and exhausted. I am really looking forward to seeing the final product. (P.S. The map and emblem of the Pacific Crest Trail were already there.)3 points -
I agree with the rest of you, one can never have too many lady heads! I now have a lady from Valerie Vargas, Todd Noble and will have one from Xam on friday, and from Conn next month! And I will have many more in the future! :o3 points

Got this earlier today from Jeff P. at Art Work Rebels here in Portland, Ore. Every 23rd they do a half-off flash special, so I picked this one off the wall. Sorry for the shitty cell phone picture, it's the best I could do.2 points

um from a womans perspective.. it wouldn't bother me. As i said before in the thread women are attractive to look at ! I suppose some women might not like it.. i dunno. If you get a fantastic tattoo and it just so happens to be of a half naked lady well surely that can only be a good thing? - - - Updated - - - I want to be you when i grow up.2 points -
Yes, very pretty. I am really very happy. It looks so much better big. Here's one side that is pretty much finished.2 points

The thing I love most about knuckle tattoos is the need to be clever within a predefined container of 8 (or 10) letters. Plus it's just some good ol fashion stupid fun to come up with new ones! I think my current favs are: BOOK WORM and TRUE GENT1 point -

Ha ha I just violated my own statement above. My coverup pretty much covers half my leg all the way around. It's beautiful, or will be, because it's not finished. I think these roses are bigger than real roses! Oh well, I'm ruined now. Nothing to let me pretend I'm just a regular lady.1 point -

Areas of your body you WON'T tattoo
Duffa reacted to hollyjoybee for a topic
i'm with @else ... as a woman who has a naturally slow metabolism..my weight fluctuates quite a lot.. add into the equation i have a fair bit of junk in my trunk i'm naturally prone to lumps and bumps... i'd rather they were gorgeously tattooed lumps and bumps though :) everyone is different though of course though @sbhikes and tis your right to not be tattooed wherever you please! I will eventually have a sleeve but it's made up of individually done traditional style pieces which i will then bring together with some fillers. I'm almost certain you will be able to make out each individual piece :)1 point -
I started wearing a shirt and tie to work for no other reason than I reached a level of maturity where I now realize that the nicer I dress the easier it is to convince other people that I know what I'm talking about (even when I don't have a clue).1 point

I moved to SF from Austin in 1997. Leading up to my move, I was finishing a piece with Chris Trevino, and every time I saw him, he'd tell me that I had to get tattooed by Eddy when I got to SF. He'd also tell me stories about his guest slots at 222 and how it was the nicest shop he'd ever set foot in. By the time I actually got to SF, I was broke. I stayed that way for a few years, but when I finally got a decent bonus in 1999, I went straight to 222 on my lunch break. Rassier was the only guy there that day, and he told me that Eddy's wait was 6 months. (It's funny to look back on that chat with Rassier, as my wife and I both have a few tattoos from him now.) The 6 months finally went by and I got my half-sleeve from Eddy, which he knocked out in no time at all. Right before he started, I said, "So, are you as heavy as Chris?" He laughed and said, "No one's as heavy as Chris, dude." We talked a lot about martial arts, other tattoo artists and the usual stuff, but the funniest thing is that he lit up a cigarette and my girlfriend asked if she could have one. He said, "Yeah, but you gotta smoke it outside." She thought he was joking, but he was dead serious! "It's my shop--I'm the only one who can smoke in here." So she declined, haha.1 point
