too many lady heads....?

No. Get what you like, and if someone else doesn't like it, tell 'em to sod off.6 points -
Everything old is new again, eh?! When I first started shaving, really, it was just that choice, straight-razor or d.e. I used a straight-razor at first, then changed to what was called a "safety-razor", or what is called a d.e. here. I stopped shaving when I was 21, but started again, what, maybe ten years ago. Don't shave it all, but what I do shave, I typically use an electric razor. For soap, Williams, what else?! It's like .49 a cake, and fits in the bottom of your mug just fine. I still shave with a blade every few weeks, just to keep the electric honest. Typically use a straight-razor...I've got six of 'em I rotate, everything from an English model from the 1800's to a relatively new German one from the early thirties. Only thing I can say is strop hell out of 'em, and before you butcher yourself, shave a balloon. When you can shave a few balloons in a row without popping 'em, you're good to go! And for any of you rich blade-shaving aficionados, I have a brand-new, in the box, WWII-vintage safety-razor. Gots to imagine it's a Gillette, but I will check if anyone is interested. Open to any offer.5 points

Kylesa did a free all-ages show last night, which doesn't happen around often enough. Was really cool to see a big turnout of all generations and more faces than the usual people I see out. Made me feel a lot younger even if I was in the top 5% of the old kids attending.4 points

I think it kinda goes back to the whole "old people with tattoos" thing. Eventually everything is going to get wrinkled or saggy or misshapen somehow. Nothing stays in exactly the spot it started out in. I figure I might as well have a bunch of pretty stuff to cover up the parts that I don't love. Value added. That way, instead of looking at my thigh and saying "ewww, look at that lumpy thigh", I'll look at my thigh and think "awww! look at that kick ass tattoo!!!"2 points

Just a note - women did not wear war bonnets so just something to be aware of. I don't know what exactly you're envisioning, but if you want something historically accurate you should look into the history of aboriginal bands to find guidance. Of course many people like the image of a woman wearing a war bonnet, so if its just the image you are interested in them I guess it won't matter much.2 points

Yeah healing my inner arm is a pain, specially since I'm carrying a 18kg backpack all the time and living on the road atm. When I got it the tattoo it was 27 degrees celcius in Italy, which was a bit too much and I couldn't stay out of the sun so now im in Germany for a little while till it's healed, luckily I can stay here at someones apartment. I can't imagine itching on both thighs and upper arm at the same time, that must be horrible! Good luck with that haha2 points

Hey hey, don't hate on us journalists. :) I'm the most tattooed in the newsroom, but there are a few others with visible tattoos in both newspapers where I work. I'm neutral about the article itself ... Seemed fair enough. And the images themselves do too, considering if you look around the office you'll likely find a shit ton of crap rather than all our beautifully adorned limbs and body parts. Haha.2 points

My wife and I did our honeymoon in Stockholm and then Copenhagen a few weeks ago, and while in Copenhagen we both got tattooed by Henric Nielsen at The Sailor's Grave. They do a walk-in Saturday where Henric paints up new flash each week. I got this mandala flower on my left forearm and my wife got a lady head in profile with butterfly wings. It's a really nice shop, and Henric is a hell of a guy. Marija Ripley was also really nice and recommended a pretty great restaurant on the same street as our hotel. Next up...to try and book in with Steve Boltz and maybe get something from Ashley Love.2 points -

That stuff is all really nice. It's unfortunately a bit expensive for me right now (I think the prices are totally reasonable for limited editions, it's just that I'm spending all my money on tattoos at the moment) but I would love to own something that Raking Lights prints eventually. @Pugilist got lucky and got a set of those four recently released Horitomo cat prints, which we will add to the two I bought from Tattoo Elite International. We're going to have a wall of all Horitomo cats.2 points -

CultExciter reacted to MattCrunk for a topic
From what I've seen and read here so far, I'm probably not exactly a typical member of this forum. Fact is, I've probably been tattooing for longer than some of you have been alive (17 years). I've participated in a few other tattoo forums from time to time, but just came across this one and thought I'd give it a try, as it and the shop it's connected with looks pretty interesting. My personal specialty is realism and black and gray portraits, but I love all classic styles of tattooing, especially Asian and Traditional "old school". Having a few years under my belt, there isn't much I haven't seen or dealt with, so feel free to throw any questions my way. I'll do what I can to answer them. Below is a small sampling of my work.1 point -
Im aiming to get a small collection and get a display case made by this small company in Germany Sora Shop They made a custom perspex case for my collection of vintage cameras. Cost less than £100 and was ready in less than a week. Amazing.1 point

If I ever start shaving I would like to get into this kind of stuff. I haven't shaved in almost twelve years though, don't see myself starting anytime soon.1 point -
@slayer9019 I was watching YouTube a couple of months ago and I just happened to watch a video made by this guy Shave Nation Shaving Page. Visit ShaveNation.com - YouTube. He posts some really great reviews of various shaving products and tutorials on shaving technique. I've now gone back to using a DE razor and have spent a shit load of cash on shaving products from Baxter of California & L'Occitane and a nice Edwin Jagger safety razor I only use that stuff at the weekend as a treat as it's expensive. This weekend it's Baxter of California products (how sad is this?). I also bought a straight razor shavette. Cut the shit out myself trying that out. Can you believe I thought that was pretty funny. I will learn though as some of those straight razors are truly beautiful and give the best shave possible. Next on the list though is a decent shaving brush. There is no doubt you get a better shave with a DE razor and like you said it's cheap. The blades work out at less than £3 for 10 and they will last about 8 weeks. I've even started to collect vintage razors from ebay for a display. Watching videos of a man shaving and buying old razors ?????? This is either a healthy new interest or I'm having some sort of mental meltdown :cool:1 point

some girl came into the shop where i work yesterday, asking about getting a small feather tattooed by her eye (to match one in her only other tattoo we could see, on the back of her neck)... before being turned away, she was also asking if anyone in the shop did UV tattoos, and talking all about how they take 10 years off of your life, because the ink is so toxic.1 point -

I heard you could claim disability and collect unemployment with a face tattoo. In the movie "Cadence" starring Charlie and Martin Sheen, a soldier gets sent to the stockade for getting eight balls tattooed on his hands: I know the military has rules about acceptable placement/subject matter, but IDK if it gets you sent to the stockade.1 point -
