  2. Ex-lurker here. Got this from Greg Christian on Saturday. At first I wanted it to wrap a little bit with the wings spread a little wider, but Greg recommended I do it like this so that the whole thing could be seen directly from the front. I am glad as shit I listened to him-I'm so happy with the way it fits in the space (right shin) http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/gallery/member/13934-greg-christian-eagle.html&imageuser=3302 http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/gallery/member/13935-greg-christian-eagle-2.html&imageuser=3302 Also got this from him back in November (outside of right thigh). http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/gallery/member/13936-greg-christian-wolf-head-dagger.html&imageuser=3302 http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/gallery/member/13937-greg-christian-wolf-head-dagger-2.html&imageuser=3302 I don't know how to post pictures right.

  4. The funniest part of my recent trip to NYC was when Mike Rubendall introduced himself to me. "Hey man, I'm Mike." I had to stop myself from getting all star struck and saying, "Uh, yeah dude, I know." I cannot stress enough how everyone at Kings Ave is so completely genuine and polite.

  10. I had a 55 gallon reef for about 5 years. It was absolutely gorgeous. Until i made the mistake of buying one fish without checking into it's behavior type. It slowly over time ate everything in the tank. I wanted to start over, but it's a really big $$$ investment. Said fish -

  11. Hi Keepcalm, I wouldn't worry too much about the planning right now. The beauty of old-school designs is the you can just "stamp" them on and have a great sleeve. My sleeve came together from a bunch of bigger and smaller tattoos placed a bit haphazardly. I had ideas of what I liked, but was open to getting classic designs that filled the spaces I had to work with. An arm has a lot more space than you might think!

  13. Has anyone purchased anything from Eddy Deutsche's Raking Light Projects? Looks like they have some really really really cool stuff. In related news tattoos and tattoo related art has become the final destination for all of my disposable income...

That panda looks nothing like a bat,...... wait scratch that, reverse and flip it. Yeah that sounds about right.

  15. I had a whole bunch going at once there for awhile... I definitely noticed that each subsequent tattoo was taking longer and longer to heal. And that the day after was getting harder and harder on each one. I've been on a little break here for the past couple months. It looks like my break will be ending soon though and I'll be healing multiple tattoos again :D

  16. I got tattooed by Greg Christian earlier in the year while he was in London. Such a nice guy, really laid back, and definitely one of my favourite tattoo artists - I think if anything he's a little underrated over here.

  17. I'm trying this thing where I heal one tattoo at a time. It's tough though. I'm sure it's better for the body and what not. I used to heal like, 3-4 tattoos at the same time. This guy that was getting tattooed next to me noticed that, and he mentioned that I should take vitamins and iron pills. Does everyone else heal 1 tattoo at a time? Or do you guys heal multiples too?

    Hi lol

See the thing that says Notifications up there? It lets you know when you have a Private Message (PM). Read the one that was sent to you after your first and second posts were quarantined. A wise man once told me that we've got two ears and one mouth so we should listen more than we talk. Take some time to explore the site and take some time before posting anything else. Some of the mods have itchy ban hammer fingers so take this as the last gentle warning. Thanks, Nazi Halo.

  20. My general rule of thumb is this: Tattoos change a bunch from the second you get it till about a month or so later when they "settle" so don't rush to judgements right away. When in doubt go to the person who put it on you, they will know best. Also, please post in the correct section of the forum.

  25. I've always liked Tim Pausinger's tattoos (I believe he's working full time at the Pearl Harbour Gift Shop in Toronto these days). I'm not sure what it is about them, but I think his work has a real style of its own - always some cool touches or a different way of looking at a traditional subject. He's got a couple of cool ROAs in his instragram feed: Traditional, but he does his own thing with them. I like the way he illustrates the women too... Here's one:- I kind of like 'em because they look like they're leg pieces also... For those of us who can't fit a ROA on a back!

  26. That is a beautiful fish! Currently have 3 running tanks: 5 gallon that contains a red cambodian double tail betta and zebra nerite snail as well as various live aquatic plants 60 gallon that currently contains 2 young blood parrot cichlids 7 neon tetra (there were 12 but are being eaten by the parrots. They were bought as dither fish anyway) and one L240 vampire Plecostomus 3 gallon which is currently home to two baby (about 1 in.) electric blue Jack Dempseys. This is just a growing tank until they are about 2-2.5 inches and then will be moved into the 60 gal with the other cichlids. below are pics of the chiclids and the pleco.

  29. Hey, thanks @mtlsam! I figured that was probably the case, but I'm not super savvy in the tattoo world yet so I'm never sure what's "typical." Only time will tell if I get brave up to "use up" more of that arm real estate! :) If I do, I know I'll want more straightforward designs in black and gray, so hopefully they would all meld together/harmonize with no problem. Thanks again for the reply!

  31. Wondering how tattooers feel about this..? Is putting the BTC up on the internet and opening it to non-tattooers just totally kill it? Did I just answer my own question?

    Hey there

If I was going to get a comic book tattoo and I could go to absolutely anybody in the world, I would probably go to Dave Waugh. Just saying.

  39. Not sure if i've already posted this - forgive me if i have - Tomorrow i'm back down in Newcastle (UK) to Cock A Snook tattoo. I'm having another Gypsy lady but on my right thigh this time which was painted by and will be tattooed by Paul Fulton. It's from a split sheet Dan Hartley and Paul Fulton painted... i'll try and include a pic from their instagram. So i already have the lady on the left on my left thigh and i shall have the lady on the right on my right thigh. Really love the painting and am hoping to purchase a print once they get them done! In the same sitting Daniel Hartley is doing a cover up of a butterfly tattoo i had done on my right shoulder a while back and disliked straight away and never went back to get it finished! It was totally my own fault, it's not a bad tattoo i just really don't like it and would rather use that space for something else if i can. Can't wait to see what he's come up with! Edited to attempt to add the picture.. i WILL get there .. I WILL!

I really like the bottom right hand corner. Definitely going into contention! So far im stuck between: that snake, mandala flower thing, another lady on my chest, or a lady head somewhere else, or kali on my back right shoulder. Definitely have a budget, unfortunately since this is being gifted to me, but maybe if i ask my brother to add into what my sister is paying for, i'll be able to get something nicer.

  44. I did something awesome yesterday: Ed spoke at an SF museum about "tattoo culture." It wasn't promoted very well--there were only about 15 people there--but that made it cooler for me. Then I saw Tattoo Nation a few hours later. Great day all around. PS @Doug Hardy, I'm wearing one of your pins on my jacket. :)

  49. I have no real plans to tattoo my neck or, aside from the few tiny things on them already, my hands. When I was first introduced to tattooing, hand and neck tattoos were the exclusive provenance of bikers, junkies and lifers, it was scary shit. Most tattooers didn't even have their necks or hands tattooed, and if they did they had earned it by running out of space elsewhere. It used to make you look fucking TOUGH, but these days (no offense to those with neck and hand tattoos) every suburban 18 year old with a screamo band has their hands and throat tattooed. (and often nothing else. the "warped tour body-suit" as I like to call it.) it's just not a club I'm interested in joining. Probably not going to tattoo my feet either. I'd tattoo my weiner though. If Pat would agree to do it ;)
