I have to take my young son to swimming lessons for the next two months so the tattoo I got last week will be it for awhile, all other works in progress will have to wait. But to celebrate when the lessons are over and I can get tattooed again, I booked an appointment with Matt Arriola in late June.

That's why I hate tattoos in the summer. I love taking my daughter to the beach so I'll be done after June for a while unless someone awesome guest spots who I can't miss. I think in May me and my wife will be picking out each others (not as sweet as you think, we're both assholes) and getting that. We've decided wall flash only, no drug related art, no words. We'll probably hit Taylor Street again since they're fun and down with that sort of crap.

  17. so, I had my appointment today and I have to admit that the tattoo studio was impressive. 5 floors, a lot of employees, very nice environment it really really looks good. so firstly I met a guy who does the "first meetings" for discussing. I explained him that I want to cover my mark with some tribal-like black'n'grey. After watching at some pictures he understood what kind of tattoo I like and we went to the specific artist who does the style I like (he's a guest artist from england named "Rod Medina"). He told me that he's able to cover the mark with a black'n'grey tattoo of his style. I will have another appointment in May for defining the exact tattoo and for inking. I'm very excited :)

    Hello From Vancouver BC

Hi vPooch, I am an older gal (45) that just got her first tattoo a couple of weeks ago and I wanted to give you some advice about your appointment. I don't know the driving age where you are but try to have someone take you and pick you up. It's an exhausting yet exciting time for you and you will just want to breath when it's done. Take bottled water with you and drink it during your session. I had to lie down for mine and the water gave me little breaks and kept the dry mouth away. Try to eat a decent meal before you go so nerves don't get to your tummy. Listen very carefully to your artist when you are done so that you know how to take care of your tattoo when you get home. Try to get that care in writing if you can so that you don't have to remember exactly what he said. I wish you nothing but the best, you sound like a great kid with a solid head on your shoulders and I am proud of you for being brave about coming on here and being polite in regards to what these fine folks said to you. They only mean the best for you. Be safe and share your experience with us.

    Post-tattoo blues anyone?

Looks like I'm gonna have to take a little trip to Tulsa the next time I'm in town! Providing the shop is open, of course. I'd love to see what other talent is coming out of - or in the Stells' case, moving into - the state. Next internet wormhole :).

    San Francisco!!

Just back from San Francisco and no new tattoos for me or @DJDeepFried :(! We were thinking of just stopping by 2spirit to check out the place...but were only in the neighborhood while they were closed. Would have gotten something small from Paul Dobleman, but he was out of town. We were only there for a long weekend. Had fun anyway!

    Post-tattoo blues anyone?

I'm *technically* a resident of the state right now. But, with the way my job works, I spend very little actual time there. (Like - less than 8 weeks of the past year.) I lived there for part of my high school/college years too, but that was awhile back. Richard Stell is opening up a shop in Tulsa really soon - May I think? And there's some good tattooers scattered here and there. I'm not actually there enough to keep up with things.

You should really try and make it happen, even if it's just a little bit of lettering, getting tattooed by Freddy Corbin is a not-to-be-missed good time. How about a little something for the wife?

  40. I like tattoos beacuse, well because I like tattoos. Fuck all worrying about culture and trends and who has what. I get what I like and that's that. Just me. And the "before and after" pic above, I believe there is a whole thread devoted to that in here somewhere, and there was some quesiton about it's provenance.

    My Laserprojects

Right on man, thanks for sharing! I've got a few questions if you don't mind answering, how many laser sessions did you get before the old tattoo was ready to be covered up? How long did you let the last session heal before you started the new tattoo? Last, who's doing the cover up? I'm not a huge bio fan but that's a sick piece on your leg :D Here's my laser journey :D http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-removal-coverup/1663-my-laser-chronicles.html Thanks for sharing yours! :D

  46. 1stly, your reason for getting a tattoo is not that unusual. Go for it. Good that you're doing plenty of research. I'm not personally a real fan of most tribal, but at least Pascal in that particular shop seems to be doing better than average. A picture of the actual mark and scars would help the tattooists here make an opinion of how hard this might be. Lastly, don't worry about "not being creative". That's part of what a good artist is being paid to do. Go with your ideas, references and deposit and discuss what you want in detail. He will draw something up and you two can tweak it if/as needed.
