  4. I shouldn't be allowed outside without a chaperone. My girlfriend and I went out for lunch this afternoon. Since we were right around the corner from The Pearl in Toronto I decided to stop in and say hello. Just a few moments before we got there Tim Pausinger had a couple of last minutes cancellations. Perfect timing! I had a few ideas on my phone and after brief discussion Tim drew up a design and got to work. I had a tattoo done last week that was healing nicely and so I figured what the hell. Let's do it. I've got another appointment on Friday, another on the 18th and two in April. I think I'll take a wee break at that point before beginning the work on my chest.

  10. Effective immediately, due to a major ink shortage caused by @else the price of ink will be increasing dramatically on the limited quantity that is left. The now rare tattoo ink will be more expensive per ounce than Rhodium.

  11. I've always been overweight, chubby or fat. I have both arms covered and quite a bit of each leg tattooed - I love my tattoos. And beautiful tattoos look great on any size body! From a personal standpoint, it is simply my vanity and insecurity that has kept me from getting my back, buttocks and ribs tattooed-- and that is because I wouldn't be comfortable naked in front of most people. My husband ( who is a tattooer will most probably be the one to tattoo my back and sides) As a tattooer, I like big people with big tattoos and small people with big tattoos too> Best of luck

  13. Thanks guys. I knew I really wanted to get tattooed by Matt and was up in the air with a few options. I pitched him a spider and a scorpion, and he went with what he knew. I couldnt be happier. It was a good experience. Also he asked me if i wanted to enter the contests they were having so I said sure. Ended up winning Best in Show and sending him back to Seattle with a big ass skull for winning.

  15. i completely agree. that drawing looks like doo doo, man. not to mention, i would highly reconsider the forearm tattoo. even after i had several tattoos, i was very apprehensive about getting my forearm tattooed. that's coming from a dude in his mid 20's, not 16, and had been working for quite some time.

  18. If they come here and ask for opinions, that shows that they're different from most 16-year-olds (whom you accurately describe in your other post). I like to think of LST as a place where people of all ages can get great advice. If they don't wanna follow it, then they're free to enjoy their shitty tattoo. (No shots)

  19. honestly, i don't think it's all that bad. someone has to start somewhere. but this dude should without a doubt, 100% heed peoples warnings. if you're 16, and someone older than you that has tattoos is trying to advise you do something opposite what you are planning to do, it's for a good reason. i am so god damn glad i didn't get tattooed at 16, 18, or even 20 or 21. i probably would've gotten the lamest shit, and went to bunk tattooers.

  21. Yeah, it is so good. It's also one of those tattoos that makes me think that even though spider tattoos have never really appealed to me that I'm probably wrong about that and I would love to have a tattoo like that.

  23. I always thought of it as a Jerry design, but never really verified that. I have the design tattooed on my leg, Artwork Rebels has it as part of their last Thursday flash special they do every month. Saw that Nikki Balls one today, love the bandana.

  24. I had to join the site to thank you for this thread. I have been trying to decide for some time where & what size to get my first tattoo. I'm old, fat, & not especially attractive. I've been wanting a tattoo for a long time, and have known for a while what it is I want. But, the size and placement has held me back. I have been thinking of getting it small, worrying about what people would think. Which is really ridiculous. I don't worry about what people think of me, as Popeye would say, "I am what I am". Thanks for helping reinforce the decision that was in the back of my head the whole time.

    Hello From Vancouver BC

If you're going to work on oil rigs, you could make a nice chunk of change. I know you don't want to hear this, but you should wait to get tattooed. Look around this site and see what's possible. Work on the rigs for a while, make some money, and pay for something you'll be stoked on for life. As for first tattoos on the forearm, here's more advice you don't wanna hear: that's terrible place to start a Japanese sleeve. ALL Japanese sleeves start at the top of the arm, not the other way around.

  38. Got this from Tomas Garcia at Sid's in Santa Ana, CA. He has a special book of line drawings that he'd love to do. I had trouble deciding between two designs in particular, so he took both designs and made it into one. It was definitely a great experience over at Sid's. The entire crew is extremely hospitable. Very down to earth crew. I'm a fan for life. Tomas even drew up some hand made lettering for me too.

  39. Just back from the West Texas Tattoo Convention. First convention I've attended, drove 10 hours with two of my best friends to get there, then drove back the morning after into a blizzard. Totally worth it. Tattoo and photo by Ron Henry Wells (poached from his Instagram).

I got this Panther @ Tattoo City back in the late 80's. It really needs to be redone after too many years in the sun, but I cant bring myself to do it. I unfortunately don't believe Ed did this himself, but still the same it holds some nostalgia for me.
