I just got a kick ass anchor tattoo from my "home area code tattooer" Levi Hatch. My sister is going through a bad break up. She and I are very close, she asked if I would get "sister tattoos" with her. How could I say no? So we got similar, but not identical anchors. It was her FIRST tattoo and she went for the ribs and handled it like a champ :-) I went for the back of the calf, almost into the ditch. I'll post pics when I can. (I know, I ALWAYS say that! This time I will for sure!) Once again Levi was fabulous. I'm so glad that my sister had such a good experience for her first tattoo... Now, if she decides to get more she'll know how good it *can* be and hopefully not accept any less.5 points -

I currently have a three quarter sleeve in progress, from Mo Coppoletta at The Family Business in London, it is Japanese style with koi and autumnal Japanese Maple leaves. So far I have had four three hour sessions, all the outline and black shading is complete, I have two further sessions booked up (one mid March and one in early April) to complete the colour work. There are a few pictures which were taken after the second session on another thread: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/15-latest-tattoo-lowdown-page297.html#post57495 In time I think I would like my other arm to have a design made up of several palm sized traditional western style images, loosely themed around exploration/travel, filled in with roses or grapevines along with few small fillers. My first thought towards this would be a lady head in the style of a twenties female aviator (along the lines of Amelia Earhart or Amy Johnson), if I go with this idea I will probably go to Valerie Vargas. I am also thinking about a cheetah head on one of my knees, surrounded by pike lettering which reads "heart full of napalm" (a references to a Stooges lyric). And, and, and, the list is endless.3 points

Sharing information about general pricing rates as written by tattooer probably okay, but speculating about what others might charge or steering the conversation towards trying to find someone cheaper (even someone is own shop) probably not the way threads should go. I wouldn't discuss price, but since it's out there, Kore is fast, you probably still get more tattoo for your buck, even if his rate is higher you might end up with less time in chair to get the tattoo done and a better looking tattoo than some other places that charge less, especially if waiting is not the issue.2 points -

@jade1955, you're absolutey correct, sir, and you know what's totally freaking pitiful, the Bill of Rights was to a large extent informed by the Magna Carta and its' guarantee's of personal security and the sanctity of the home. And they are both down the tubes.2 points

Hi my name is Terence I am from New Zealand but have been living on the Gold Coast of Australia for the past 21 years, I tattoo and make my own machines, I originally thought the best way to understand how a Tattoo machine works is to make my own, I have many influences all around the world both builders and artists, I love the interviews and art work on here, Cheers1 point

Don't want to bust balls here but should we really be making tattooers rates public? If they have it on their websites, that's one thing and even then I wouldn't talk about it here, but things said in private communication should be kept private.1 point

Ya know, I used to think that it was just noise, but I gotta say... THE ONLY SOLUTION IS ANOTHER REVOLUTION And it's gonna happen. Might not be tomorrow, but this country is toast. The America that I grew-up in is long gone, and the collectivists are intent on pushing through their vision of a new, "redistributed" world for us to inhabit. Part of that is regulating the private ownership of firearms to the point that it becomes non-existent. Trouble is, when people start tampering with the Constitution, and attempting to limit the rights of American Citizens, then the "law of unintended consequences" will kick in. Basically, you have collectivists preaching that firearms are terrible, nasty things, that commit violent acts, basically without any human involvement. To see just how far collectivists are willing to twist and distort the truth, look no further than the Sandy Hook shootings and their aftermath. Before the smoke cleared, collectivist politrickians were dancing in the blood of the victims, calling for a ban on evil "assault rifles". Much was made over the fact that "an assault rifle was used in the shootings". Well. Not so much. The shootings were done with a 9mm handgun, the rifle, which was legally purchased and then stolen, was NEVER OUT OF THE KILLERS CAR. Now that's flat-out lying, something our collectivist overlords are quite good at. So keep pushing, keep squacking about how "hunters don't need more than seven shots", and see what happens at the end of the day. The Second Amendment isn't about hunting, rather, it is about ensuring that Citizens have the tools they need to overthrow the government. I'm not too bright, I'm not even a college graduate, but here's what I can very easily see happening. The current regime passes laws requiring all firearm transfers to go through a licensed dealer. Millions refuse to abide by these rules, as they refused to abide by Canada's long-gun registry. In the face of mass civil disobedience, the regime outlaws the possession of certain firearms. More civil disobedience follows. The Oligarchs, sensing a threat to their legitimacy, send in the Waco Killers. Teams of ATF and FBI goonies confront outspoken gun-owners and arrest them, in the process, terrorizing their familes, destroying their homes, and brutalizing any who resist. As this happens with more frequency, more Citizens resist, until finally their is a series of firefights in which heavy casualties are taken by both sides. As the fighting escalates, the Oligarchs order their troopers to crush the budding rebellion, and they respond with increased brutality. Oh wait! How can you be more brutal than burning 54 innocent men, women, and children to death?!?!?!?!?!! Then the fun will start.1 point

In 15 to 20 years, I would like to be getting referrals from people I tattoo today. Its easy to avoid trends and poorly crafted tattoos when youre busy doing what you and your peers deem good. Im not in that position yet so I am faced with making decisions on craft verses art all the time. I try to plant seeds of education while I talk of how their tattoo idea isnt the best case scenario. In the end, they make the decision, and I get the final say on awful ideas. Sometimes we, as tattooers, can have all the right equipment and theory, but the customer determines if they will get a quality tattoo or not.1 point

next time suggest neon sunglasses. Yeah I usually don't give design advice outside shop, for some reason it just feels more comfortable critiquing an idea in a tattoo shop, I just tell them they should come in and we can talk about it, and I feel if I can get people in the door and show them how cool a tattoo can be, there's more of a chance of leading them away from a bad idea. Still always shocked at what people think are good ideas for tattoos.1 point -

The only way to improve on a panther is to add a snake, and the only way to improve on that is to add several snakes. You did that, and then put a crown on it. If this doesn't win....1 point
