Pictures to follow but I had a great session with Thomas Hooper today and my sleeve is nearly lined. On my forearm there's a nautilus shell with an almost acanthus leaf-like pattern in it (Haeckel's Art Forms In Nature has a shell like this in it) amidst Japanese water with water cascading over it. On the inside of my arm is a Haeckel-inspired mandala and next session we'll cap off my shoulder with an atmospheric mandala with flames and clouds. Really kind of amazed at it and feel so fortunate to have a tattoo so beautiful.

Tony Nilsson at Blue Arms Tattoo in Oslo, Norway is doing incredible girl heads in my opinion. I just recently started paying attention to his work and it is very solid. I would definitely love to get a tattoo from this guy.

booked my flight to nyc for april last night. i'm kind strapped for cash, but i think there's no way i can't be in nyc and not stop in at smith st. planning on getting a snake right beneath my arm pit and then doing stars and dots to finally finish up my damn right arm.

Beats me, I haven't hit that point yet! Ralph Johnstone was one of the old South State Street tattooers and sign painters. He worked with Tatts Thomas a good bit, and I believe Nick has some of his old stuff there. I know he has a lot of Tatt's work, and other old-time stuff. Man, he's hog for that action, and he'll set you up righteous.

The first one's a few years older, but it's pretty similar to how i look now... In the other one, I'm not the bronze tiger.

Now officially booked in with Javi Rodriguez at firth street on march 5th (2 days after my bday). Can't believe this will be my first tattoo of the year!

you can never have too much of anything! i have atleast 50 different skulls on me and a whole rose garden by now! a flock of eagles are forming aswell. (flock of seagulls? nice hair...)

This is also a good modus operandi when dating tall leggy blondes in Sydney or S.F.

I have an appointment confirmed w/ Nick Colella March 2. (picking something off the wall, any suggestions ideas??) and we have plane tickets for San Francisco in June and I'm definitely getting tattooed out there as well. Pretty pumped about them both it will be my first time traveling for a tattoo. I think it will be a little weird as I have been super comfortable with my tattooer (Nathan Abney Nasty Nate Tattoo Artist). Most of my favorite video games involve 1 quarter and 3 lives. Mario Kart is my exception to the rule.

I have a list somewhere around the house with close to 40-50 names of ladies that tattooed from the 20's thru the 70's! There were a lot more women tattooing than I think most know about! Names like Dee Brown and Bernice Steinhart from Portland, OR......(60's & 70's) I think @Joe Shit added Debbie Lenz from Youngstown, OH to this list....I'll be finally adding something from her this Summer hopefully! Not really sure if they are legendary though....... My mentor (who is female) opened her shop here in Maryland in the 1970's and has been tattooing 30+ years!

I was fortunate enough to live around the block from 222. I went in there a bunch and was the pesky kid with no money, i bent Juan and Rassier's ear a few times with tales of tattoos i didn't have money to get. They had a pretty good bullshit detector but humored me anyway. I got to watch Paco paint the side of the building and when i was a bike messenger I delivered a heavy ass box of flyers or something from the print shop to 222. Scott was there to receive it and asked me how the hell i road there with that package. I told him I rode it on my bars wedged in between my forearms, and he gave me a $20 tip. It was one of the only tips I ever got while messengering.
