I love reading Yelp reviews for tattoo shops. Favorites include a review of Saved that remarked on how the tattooers consider themselves artists there but they don't even know who Nan Goldin is, and one of State of Grace that was about how great the shop is, how the work is all first rate but that they would have to give it four stars instead of five because it isn't in San Francisco.

My Mariachi back piece that Kore Flatmo is doing. @David Bruehl did the bottom guy in color and Kore is knocking out the rest. Kore and I are both pretty pumped with how his black and gray work makes David's color work really pop. I'm pretty excited to finish this and hoping we can finish in February.

the problem isnt white neccesarily. there are many factors white being just one of them. going back over it will solve the problem. from the looks of your tattoo, whom ever tattooed you is a competent tattooer and it might be a bit insulting to tell him/her how to do there job. youre seemingly in good hands so let the tattooer sort it out,its his/her work as much as it is yours

@chrisnoluck - also amazing! Who is doing it? Thanks, Max Kuhn is the man in question. Great tattooer, I'm really excited to get some more done it just sucks that it's such a shitty spot. I feel like a wuss for only being able to sit 2-3 hours at a time!

Don't know if any of youse ever look at Yelp.com, it's kinda a local review site, if yer looking for a place to eat, or like that. Anyhow, CTC was reviewd on it, and someone posted a review talking about how great the work is, and what a righteous shop it is, but how they won't be back 'cause the tattooer they used didn't "bond" with them... fuck me.

Sometimes, I get a bit frustrated with the "Welcome" threads. 95% of the time, these folks never stick around. And honestly, I could tell that our handsome friend with his poor taste in tattoos would have fallen into that percentage. I wish everyone who joined up contributed past 10-15 posts and became part of this community. I enjoy my interactions with all of you here, and it's so exciting seeing you guys get awesome tattoos on the regular. That said... @ian SNEAK PEEK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I figure since I'm a Star Wars nerd and recently got a Star Wars Tattoo, I'll post it here. It's from a Derek Ward Flash Set and done by Todd Lamere at Body Art Tattoo. This is only 5 days into healing so I'm sure it will look a bit different.

I live around the corner from a busy street shop that's one of the longest-running shops in the city. It's one of these no-appointments, first-come, first-served kind of places and they put on solid tattoos. They seem to tattoo a lot of people who are getting their first tattoo and probably don't really get how a tattoo shop works because I read a negative review of the shop online where the person was complaining about how they wanted to "try on" a whole bunch of stencils before deciding which one they wanted and they were mad that the tattooer wouldn't do it.

I agree, Getting a decent photo of my new tattoo seems to be impossible, every pic I take makes it look no where near as good as it actually is. The artist deserves more credit than what I can offer in a pic. Usually I post the pic the artist put up on there instagram.

Not trying to be a dick but the quality of a photo goes a long way.

Couple of sheets from the shop painted by Derek Ward. People have actually gotten quite a few off these sheets. I think he sells prints of these but it's a five sheet set combined with two halloween and one christmas sheet.

Just had a full sleeve done by Dmitriy Samohin. I did 8 days straight 8-9 hours a day for all this to be completed. Around 70 hours :) The Panther and Lion are on my thigh :) Hope this is in the right place :)

My biggest pet peeve is how everyone now specializes in tattooing because they have happened to see an episode of Miami Ink or LA Ink... I still have no idea what I am doing yet they do... Fuck it... I have seen an episode of Dr. 90210... Anyone want a nose job or a face lift... Just saying... I am now starting to hold consultations for breast augmentations...
