Thanks. I'm 34 so I waited a long time. I'm really glad I did, I can only imagine what I would have ended up with. Had I not started suing my research here I don't know if I would had found Mr Flatmo. My experience so far has been excellent to say the least. From my initial contact with him to planning the tattoo and the consultation he and his assistant have made me feel really comfortable about the whole process.4 points -

Just tell him to go to Frith Street, they have someone for every style. I mean you really won't know what would work best until you can look the area and existing tattoo, which is hard to do in a picture, but with the talent they have there I don't see any reason to go anywhere else. PS tattoo looks fine, sounds like he just wants an excuse to get more tattoos.3 points -

i hate romney, but i think he won. i was shocked with how well romney did in being articulate and sounding like he knew what he was talking about. the douche bag was just tossing bullshit out of his ass to make himself sound great. obama kept calling him out on it, but romney did well in controlling the debate. he was stronging arming obama most of the time. the scary thing to me is that people will listen to the bullshit that romney said and say "yeah. fuck obama. i don't want obama care telling me what treatments i need, or making me lose my insurance," which is clearly does not do, as obama specifically stated. also, i find it fucking laughable that romney kept saying "i want to create jobs," but he made a point of mentioned that he will cut pbs if elected, as if pbs is some fucking evil, money sucking, blackhole, and consolidate government agencies. i don't like either obama or romney, but obama is really the lesser of two evils. he has continued every horrible aspect of bush's foreign, defense (offensive) strategy, and surveillance, but has implemented some good domestic policies. however, romney wants to eliminate dodd-frank-as much as this act does, it still needs more added to it to curb wall street-he states he wants to get rid of obamacare, which is fucking the exact same thing as he created in Mass, has stated he'd want to curb women’s reproductive rights-while his running mate is a fucking nazi in this regard-and he also is vehemently against taxing the wealthy. Fuck this dude. sorry for the long rant.3 points -

@CultExciter I think my limit on news is about five minutes. It's nearly impossible to get any straight information from anyone and forget it when it comes to the debate. I've turned pretty sour at the whole thing.. "moderators" lobbing in easy questions that won't even get answered. That said, I was at work and didn't watch last night :D Two candidates just present the illusion of a choice, four years is not enough, make campaign financing illegal.3 points -
Since my last post on this thread I had the lower inside of my leg tattooed. I'ts right what you say about the pain. I only started to experience bad pain a day or two after the tattoo. It was so bad I took three half days off work and that was four days after the tattoo. I was told that as you get older you experience more swelling and pain in lower leg tattoos. It's to do with the circulation in your legs not being quite as good. That feeling when you get out of bed and stand up. Horrible.3 points

I'm a fan of politics, talk them everyday, and they impact my work though we should probably stay away from politics as much as possible on this tattoo forum. We have seen the most minor stuff set someone off and the forum moves from its purpose. Unfortunately this thread would probably end up getting heated, then the most traffic though people will say they hate drama, and tattoos will get neglected2 points -

Funny if I want to find source material for a tattoo the last thing I would look at is some bullshit flash web site. Most of the stuff is drawn on the computer and isn't even tattooable, not to mention the designs are horrible. I usually find non tattoo related reference if I am looking to get a tattoo drawn for me. If I want a particular bird or flower tattooed on me, I would find a book that has some good illustrations or photographs of them, or maybe just run the idea by the tattooer see if they already have the necessary reference material or even need it. Paying for a tattoo design on the internet is about as stupid as paying for porn on the internet.2 points -

Lochlan and one other reacted to slayer9019 for a topic
I think you really should go to a shop. You do realize that part of what you are paying for is to have a real live artist draw up whatever your brain can think of. On top of that they will have to "redraw" the tattoo at least once (think they are "drawing" the tattoo on you", otherwise to tracing paper then to your skin). Getting ideas from online is not a bad idea. You can hone in on an idea that you like (for example, looking up a bunch of dragons). You can print out some references to bring to your artist so you can visualize what what you were thinking. Remember images sometimes look killer on paper but you are not a piece of paper. You are an organic, moving, not even close to flat, pre-colored (skin tone) object. Your artist will take all of this into account with your provided reference material to give you a killer tattoo.2 points -

Buying tattoo designs online is a scam. Do what everyone else here has said and find someone who makes Japanese tattoos that you really like and describe what you liked about that design to them. You'll end up with a way better tattoo than if you brought in a design that you're married to (which may not make a good tattoo at all) because you paid for it. Don't be afraid to make a long trip...I routinely drive 8+ hours round trip to get my back worked on, and have driven a lot more than that and crossed borders to get tattooed by people I dig. Tattoo road trips are a blast.2 points -

2012 American Presidential Debates - Denver
ian reacted to CultExciter for a topic
I'm a news junkie. I fully admit it. I had high expectations for this debate. I expected some "zingers." Didn't happen. I expected common sense to outweigh mere numbers thrown in the air. Didn't happen. I don't think there was a clear winner in rhetoric in these debates. Romney supporters will see his superfluous flip and flop as support for the American people. Obama supporters will find his poise and "statistics" (and the fact that he isn't Romney) as the upper-hand. Who do you think came out on top, and why? And, for fact checking reference, please navigate over here: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2012/oct/03/fact-checking-denver-presidential-debate/1 point -
I have a small snake getting stabbed with a dagger worked into my Mary piece. My big snake is going to be in my battle royale on my back- now I just have to decide who's going to do it. As far as execution, I like O'Donnell's execution, but I'm also feeling the folky patterns in BH Robinson's snakes- maybe I can have both?1 point

If your trying to knock out colour then read the wikipdia here, if not any laser will knock black out, you get Ruby, Alexandrite and YAG.Tattoo removal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia i today have just driven a 2hour round trip to go somewhere that has all 3 lasers. Went over it today with two lasers for each colour and then over the lot again with the yag to knock the black out, it hurt a bit..:p my arm is now blistered and twice the size it should be, oh the fun of laser. Before it was just a standard pass with a yag so i will report back if the results are noticeable better. today was my 4th session, i reckon ill need 6 so the total will be about £700 with a year of laser plus a 6month rest before the cover up, you need to be motivated to do it. edit; oh yea the guy i went today with all the gear had the blow air cooling thingy, that soothed and helped a lot.1 point

I might just be a prick, but are you putting one of these "elevate tattooing post" in the 'Random Pic Thread' or the 'Hipster Tattoo Thread"? Some people like a laugh. plain and simple. If this thread bums you out so much, why are you reading it? Or Did you not even take the time to go through all the pages, found you fell sorry for the scratchers and then decided to knock the dust off the soap box. So, maybe, you should realize that good AND BAD tattoos help educate. I wish some people knew that every "tattoo shop" they walked into, or every post on craigslist for a tattoo, wasn't gonna "Look like the one's on the TV". Sorry to be a dick, I'm just following suite.1 point -

CultExciter reacted to JAllen for a topic
This thread has bummed me out for awhile, not because of the tattoos but moreso because it isn't elevating tattooing. Its not educating. I don't think anyone would tell their friends/peers/etc about all the worst restaurants in the area if they wanted to answer the question of "what's you favorite place to eat". Nobody would post links to the worst web design or the crappiest album that they're not listening to...I guess I just don't get it. I'm not saying that I haven't fallen victim to it but I think everyone here is above the level of seeking out amatuer efforts for the purposes of entertainment. I could perhaps, be suffering from the overwhelming negativity of political ads as well as the endless amount of "opinions" and "critisisms" that is the internet. If people put as much effort in doing the good and sharing positivity, we'd all be better people for it.1 point -
