I spent my Saturday afternoon with Jeff Zuck, finishing up the black in my backpiece. It was a fantastic experience as always. Jeff is one of the nicest, raddest dudes I've had the pleasure of meeting in or out of the tattoo world. With the exception of a few spots, shading the butt wasn't as bad as I had psyched myself up for. A close friend of mine got a really awesome fox/owl totem from Jen Munford at the same time (it's up on her IG @threejenbirdmun). Needless to say, my (very pregnant) fiancee spent the afternoon being real jealous.

that's not even going to make a good tattoo from the sound/looks of it. do what people are telling you to do; go to a local artist you like and they will draw a tattoo for you.

Just got a leopard head from Bryan Burk during his guest spot at Black Heart. I couldn't be happier. He's one of my favorite artists and I finally scored a little piece from him.

Buying tattoo designs online is a scam. Do what everyone else here has said and find someone who makes Japanese tattoos that you really like and describe what you liked about that design to them. You'll end up with a way better tattoo than if you brought in a design that you're married to (which may not make a good tattoo at all) because you paid for it. Don't be afraid to make a long trip...I routinely drive 8+ hours round trip to get my back worked on, and have driven a lot more than that and crossed borders to get tattooed by people I dig. Tattoo road trips are a blast.

Got this off Chad Koeplinger at the London convention on friday, I'm proper made up with it! Any one got any advice on healing inner bicep tattoos though? inside of my bicep is black and blue now it hurts like a bitch :D (pic pinched off chads instagram) I got a amazing Butterfly girl head off Paul Dobleman too but didn't get a pic at the time and its a bit too scabby to take one now, had loads of people come up ask me about it on the day!

why not find a good artist who can draw up your design especially for you?

Got my little leopard head from Ross Nagle at the London convention on Saturday. Top, top guy and a great tattooer. Terrible pic of my badly swollen inner elbow - the faded black above the head is from an old tattoo that will more than likely be covered at some point. Oh and apologies if the picture is huge, think i should have gone for 'medium' rather than 'large'

Not a cobra but there's a pic in the State of Grace, Horiyoshi III Life and Work book of a young David Labrava from the 80's with a chest / torso snake from the man himself , Labrava may be more widely known as Happy on S.O.A .

There are some cool photos on this site about traditional Haida tattooing: Chief Xana, this isn't dated but there's another one of him on the site from 1881, so likely some time around then. Johnny Kit Elswa, 1886. Some really cool info there too.

Hello there LST world! My name is Logan Roberts and I am a tattoo apprentice at DaVinci Tattoo and Piercing in Titusville, FL. It will be 2 months on Oct. 11 since I started. I've wanted to be a tattoo artist since I was in 8th grade (I'm now 25). I love the culture and the world that tattooing is, and I hope that this forum is a great place to engage in some awesome conversations about tattoos and the people who get them and give them!

This thread has bummed me out for awhile, not because of the tattoos but moreso because it isn't elevating tattooing. Its not educating. I don't think anyone would tell their friends/peers/etc about all the worst restaurants in the area if they wanted to answer the question of "what's you favorite place to eat". Nobody would post links to the worst web design or the crappiest album that they're not listening to...I guess I just don't get it. I'm not saying that I haven't fallen victim to it but I think everyone here is above the level of seeking out amatuer efforts for the purposes of entertainment. I could perhaps, be suffering from the overwhelming negativity of political ads as well as the endless amount of "opinions" and "critisisms" that is the internet. If people put as much effort in doing the good and sharing positivity, we'd all be better people for it.

Got this little guy from Nick Rodin at Black Heart last week! Always wanted a tattoo with tattoos. We all know it, but I'll state the obvious here: great shop, great dudes, seriously great time.. I got the cute tattoo and my lady got a super tough eagle from Cody Miller, which I'll have to get a picture of once it's healed.

As a direct result of this thread I've seen Kate Middleton half nude. I deem this a sign from the Gods that this show will be awesome.
