I spent my Saturday afternoon with Jeff Zuck, finishing up the black in my backpiece. It was a fantastic experience as always. Jeff is one of the nicest, raddest dudes I've had the pleasure of meeting in or out of the tattoo world. With the exception of a few spots, shading the butt wasn't as bad as I had psyched myself up for. A close friend of mine got a really awesome fox/owl totem from Jen Munford at the same time (it's up on her IG @threejenbirdmun). Needless to say, my (very pregnant) fiancee spent the afternoon being real jealous.

that's not even going to make a good tattoo from the sound/looks of it. do what people are telling you to do; go to a local artist you like and they will draw a tattoo for you.

Buying tattoo designs online is a scam. Do what everyone else here has said and find someone who makes Japanese tattoos that you really like and describe what you liked about that design to them. You'll end up with a way better tattoo than if you brought in a design that you're married to (which may not make a good tattoo at all) because you paid for it. Don't be afraid to make a long trip...I routinely drive 8+ hours round trip to get my back worked on, and have driven a lot more than that and crossed borders to get tattooed by people I dig. Tattoo road trips are a blast.

Got this off Chad Koeplinger at the London convention on friday, I'm proper made up with it! Any one got any advice on healing inner bicep tattoos though? inside of my bicep is black and blue now it hurts like a bitch :D (pic pinched off chads instagram) I got a amazing Butterfly girl head off Paul Dobleman too but didn't get a pic at the time and its a bit too scabby to take one now, had loads of people come up ask me about it on the day!

why not find a good artist who can draw up your design especially for you?

Terrible pic of my badly swollen inner elbow - the faded black above the head is from an old tattoo that will more than likely be covered at some point. Oh and apologies if the picture is huge, think i should have gone for 'medium' rather than 'large'

Dallas Tattoo Removal - - - Updated - - - I went to a dermatologist only because it was walking distance from my house, they had one of the best lasers on the market and the price was great. I'm pretty happy with the results too, I'll post a few new pix in my thread right now...

This thread has bummed me out for awhile, not because of the tattoos but moreso because it isn't elevating tattooing. Its not educating. I don't think anyone would tell their friends/peers/etc about all the worst restaurants in the area if they wanted to answer the question of "what's you favorite place to eat". Nobody would post links to the worst web design or the crappiest album that they're not listening to...I guess I just don't get it. I'm not saying that I haven't fallen victim to it but I think everyone here is above the level of seeking out amatuer efforts for the purposes of entertainment. I could perhaps, be suffering from the overwhelming negativity of political ads as well as the endless amount of "opinions" and "critisisms" that is the internet. If people put as much effort in doing the good and sharing positivity, we'd all be better people for it.

Gogue does some great work but for my money I think I would rather get tattooed by Darcy or if I was going to travel go the extra couple hours to San Francisco and then you can your pick of the best in the world and be in a city with fun things to do. Plus while traveling for a tattoo can be fun experience, it's not necessary to do so just to find a good tattoo, there are plenty of people who can do that closer to you.

I will look up some of his work... i wish i would have known to get better quality ha im afriad my shoulder gonna fade. Hopefully my next couple are alot better! still got alot of space lol

One of the bigger problems is when people don't know what a good tattoo looks like. There are soooo many shit tattoos out there that people assume that's how they look.

I feel you dude. I was just talking to someone the other day about a recent shitty tattoo they got and they said the guy is "pretty good for around here". I told them there are actually tattooists around here that are plain old GOOD, not just for here, for anywhere. Then they were the usual complaints of money and likely having to schedule something at least 2 weeks ahead. I just said that they'll get the tattoo they deserve. People want to be stupid, shitty fuckheads, then they deserve stupid shitty tattoos.
