Just got a leopard head from Bryan Burk during his guest spot at Black Heart. I couldn't be happier. He's one of my favorite artists and I finally scored a little piece from him.17 points

I was with a friend who has a ton of old work on him and this random lady says to him, "you look disgusting". He replies, "you obviously have no mirrors in your house". The husband walks over and starts to say something, wisely takes his hag by the arm and walks off. Rob4 points -
I've lived in Frisco for 15 years. The only people who don't like to call it that are uptight white folks. Blacks, Mexicans, Salvadorans, and freaks and bikers of all colors don't mind you saying Frisco. Get in where you fit in! Just don't say "San Fran." :)3 points

i have a full chest piece (or as it was described by my boss, a backpiece on my chest) started last November, and while it definitely felt like a really huge commitment, it's also the tattoo that's been the easiest for me to adjust to so far. usually, when i catch a view of a new one in the peripheral vision, it's a bit odd, or something seems out of place. for some reason, the biggest one i have yet just seemed like it had always been there. also, that Burk leopard is super rad!2 points -
Yeah, man! He really tricked this thing out, too. I'm really stoked that you're gonna get more work from him.2 points

Canyon Lake Road or sumpin like that, right? Was in that neck o the woods awhile many, many many moons ago...wrecked my first hog, a '47 Knuckle, on the curve where 101 jinks into 1 out by Salinas. Proly all turned into interstates now. We were on our way from el-Lay to what we called "Frisco", which I hear isn't the correct way to refer to it anymore! Had to look up who Jack Passion is...his father, eh?! All I can tell you, late sixties through the seventies, it was a time. Wouldn't trade my life for anything. Rode from one end of the country to the other, more than a few times, partied with many, fought with some, and just generally had a helluva time.2 points

Thought I would post a pic of my front, It seemed to be a long journey and now it is near completion it feels slightly strange, anyway as planned we will be putting a dagger through the neck and are still undecided on what will fill the space between the dagger and what is already there, also we are waiting to see if it will need anything else after it heals and final touch up session. Artist is Tristan Bentley, Ocean Ink Miranda Sydney Australia, tattoo is swollen and red will take another pic after it heals.2 points -

@marymary I don't think there was any need to remove your writing or delete your profile... I was interested in what you had to say. Seems this article has people very up-in-arms, apparently there were over 300 comments on this guy's facebook page about it (my husband read some of them). It's kind of interesting -- he had explanations for all the differences insisting that it's the same tattoo on the same person. To me the second image seems over-exposed but I don't know or really care that much either way about that particular tattoo.. It does make me want to see more differences/comparisons between fresh tattoos and say 1 year later, 2 years later, 5 years later etc. though.1 point -
I went on friday, was a good day out and my first convention. Even the missis with no tattoos enjoyed it, although she get a little disturbed by a very young bloke getting a snake tattooed on his face.1 point

wow. im not a troll. that is super mean. I am a visibly tattooed lady. i joined this board last spring but forgot about it for awhile. Now had decided to really become a part and have a slow internet connection this weekend, so am slowly adding to my profile. sorry to offend. I came here to join in discussions abt my love of tattooing. I have been tattooed by some of what many here would say are some of the best in the business, I sit patiently on waiting lists, save up, and really get to know the artists that I collect from.... and am continuing to add to my awesome collection( 20 plus and counting, saving up 4 a sleeve i hope to get next year by an amazing cali artist) that i was hoping to start sharing here. I am a total geek about this stuff and find any discussions really interesting. tho im not huge on BME i assumed this tattooing community is open to everyone that is dedicated in some way to this wonderful art form, and figured debates/disagreements here can be treated respectfully. sorry, i wasnt trying to start trouble. wow. i will delete my profile when i have a faster connect in the morn. thanks.1 point

I had a consultation with Randy Muller last week. He's saying he should have no problem covering the current mud on my back - or I can hit certain spots of it with a few laser sessions if I want to open up a couple of other possibilities, too. End results is intentioned to be a full back piece skull and snake.1 point -

@ Dan S you look like you could be Jack Passions father in those photos. . - - - Updated - - - AHHHHHH!!! THAT FILM!!!!! It's so gorgeous!!! The other day my chem teacher asked me if I was a "biker", because I have a black denim vest with a large back patch on it. I looked down at the ground and said solemnly "no." It's films and blogs like that that make me wish my answer was a "YES!", but then reality sets in about time and money, and all the other things that just drag you down once you step outside of daydream land. Reminds me of this little sleepy town called Port Costa in the bay area (just west of Martinez) but there's only one road in, and one road out, and the town only has maybe 300 people. They have this bar there with a giant taxidermied bear, which is odd that I'm interested in it because I don't drink and I'm vegan, but that's a separate tangent. Anyways, on any given Friday night, you can go there, and there's like 50 motorcycles parked outside (filling up most of the 1 block original "downtown" area, right by the railroad tracks, with the delta water on the other side). I always like to go to just be there, the silent voyeur, sitting back and taking it all in. It feels like that film and Dan S.'s photos. It feels like it's a place that's kind of stopped in time.1 point -

MadeIndelible reacted to Billy Chop for a topic
I realize tat tattoos have become more "culturally acceptable" in the past decade or so, but it drives me insane when kids from the suburbs come in looking to get a neck/hand/face tattoo without having any other work... Seems like everyone wants the "warped tour" sleeves these days. Wrist to fingers. Drives me nuts.1 point -

Looking back at this thread, I would say I think the title is a bit off. Maybe something more like "Tattoos changing during healing" or something similar. Also BME is not the greatest source of content for tattoo stuff in my personal opinion.1 point -

First healed photo I have seen of these. They look great. I like the look of tattoos that crawl up onto the neck, but are not full one side of the neck. I am thinking about doing the same thing, but using traditional roses or a couple of sacred hearts. I think Juan Puente would be a good choice for something like that. - - - Updated - - - I also agree that you should tattoo your back first.1 point
