  1. Thought I would post a pic of my front, It seemed to be a long journey and now it is near completion it feels slightly strange, anyway as planned we will be putting a dagger through the neck and are still undecided on what will fill the space between the dagger and what is already there, also we are waiting to see if it will need anything else after it heals and final touch up session. Artist is Tristan Bentley, Ocean Ink Miranda Sydney Australia, tattoo is swollen and red will take another pic after it heals.

  2. Tattooed by Jondix at Into You Tattoo, in London, yesterday. I've never been so nervous before a tattoo but Jondix is such a lovely guy and made me feel a lot more calm.

  3. These pictures are really bad, but this is what I got on Friday from Dan Santoro. The wrist sucked so badly. I got tattooed in all together for about 4 hours. By the end, I started to get the shakes like no man’s business. I’ll post better pictures when these pups are healed.

  8. Got this little guy from Nick Rodin at Black Heart last week! Always wanted a tattoo with tattoos. We all know it, but I'll state the obvious here: great shop, great dudes, seriously great time.. I got the cute tattoo and my lady got a super tough eagle from Cody Miller, which I'll have to get a picture of once it's healed.

  10. There was an incident at the grocery store the day after my first sitting on my tiger. I could tell this woman was staring at me. I looked at her and she sort of apologized and asked if I minded if she looked at my tattoo. I said sure. She told me it was beautiful and so I told her where I got it done. Then...my 4 year old exclaims to the woman, "You are from China! You're a China girl!" I was so embarrassed. I was like, "uh, honey, we don't know where she is from!" The woman laughed and said, "You're close--I'm Filipina." Haha, kids. I mostly get positive reactions. I don't pay much attention to people I don't know usually but if someone is really interested, I'm polite. A very cute and outgoing 3-year old boy befriended me recently, too, while I waited for my daughter in ballet class and he waited for his sister. We chatted about pets, zombies, games, etc. He said, "your tiger is cool." High praise coming from such a cool little kid.

  13. A partner thread to the stares thread because of a little exchange the other day. Walking down the street in my running clothes towards a pack of super loud teenagers you'd usually wanna smack around with a rolled up newspaper (or, around here, maybe worse..). Obviously just out of school, running around like little assholes.. always puts me on edge. Goddamn kids! But I walk by and they all quiet down and just kinda look at me and once I passed one kid goes, "Hey dude, we like yo tattoos!" No laughing, just stayed quiet. I said "Thanks buddy!" And I thought, man, I'm such an asshole for always thinking the worst of these kids, that was a really positive exchange.. even if it was them kinda staring at me. I guess I woke up on the right side of the bed today! Anyone got good, positive stare stories? I know there are a few buried in the stares thread..

  16. Hold it. Are you trying to tell me that you don't want to hear about how their faded tribal koi fish riding a unicorn the size of a dime on their shoulder blade reminds them of the frog that ran away when they were three years old????? You probably don't want to hear about their plans to get "tatted up" with a full body suit that they are planning to get done by the guy that does their brother-in-laws next door neighbor's scratching in his basement weekends when he's out of prison on work release. What kind of heartless person are you? :-)

    Food and Drink list

@Androosh Short answer: I have a hand crusher thing that mashes / pulps the garlic gloves and I just add it after the onions have softened. Long answer: I used about 75mls of olive oil in a pan and add 3-4 chopped onions. After about 10 minutes or when they're translucent / softening I add the 4 garlic cloves for 1 minute (I have a kind of pulper / crusher for the cloves that I find works better than chopping 'em). I try and keep the heat down to avoid scorching the garlic and in any case then I add 4-5 tins of good quality chopped tomatoes, some sun-dried tomato paste and salt and pepper. I cook it on a low heat for about 40 mins to an hour and add fresh basil for the last 10-20 minutes. I made the meatballs seperately, fairly conventionally - 1800g or so of good quality minced beef, 4 eggs, fair chunk of grated cheese, a grated onion (!), another pulped garlic clove, hefty dose of oregano, salt, pepper, rolled 'em in flour and then browned them before adding them to the sauce.

  28. Visiting my parents in the hick-town I grew up in a few months ago, my first port of call was the supermarket. I got a few stares of the nasty variety (and a lot of the obvious "OMG she saw us, don't look!"), but I also got some surprisingly positive reactions. One massive bearded guy came right up to me and started talking about how I reminded him of his daughter who plays roller derby, and how it's great that tattoos are "much better these days than when I was gettin' em!" with his arms all dotted with cool (but faded as hell) old work. That was pretty sweet. Another time while waiting for the bus, a guy and his girlfriend struck up a conversation with me about tattoos. He'd just got out of prison and had covered about 70% of himself with self-done biro-ink-and-burnt-bay-oil, cd-player-motor tattoos. They looked a lot better than I'd expected, he'd even done his own kneecaps pretty neat. They weren't really people I'd normally talk to (justified a few minutes later when they started harassing an Aboriginal girl and yelling racial slurs down the street) but it was kind of cool to get the chance.

  35. When I catch people staring at my hand tattoos on the train I'll slowly move my hand towards my crotch and then pretend like I caught them staring at my dick and give them a disgusted look. That or just lock eyes and don't break for a solid 3 count, it freaks the shit out of people, actually had someone switch train cars after that once.

  46. my girlfriend (going on 7 years!) has zero tattoos. when were first started dating and i was still in my apprenticeship she had a bunch of ideas for tattoos. i kept telling her to wait until i was better because i didn't want to be the one putting a bunch of poo all over her...so i think her need to get tattooed has waned, and now that i feel like i could pull off some cool shit, she is not interested...C'est la vie. i figure one of these days she'll come around to it again. So i guess my stance is a little skewed because she was and still is tattoo free. But she has always been extremely supportive of my career or whether i am getting more work done. I love that girl. And for those curious, yes i am going to propose soon. she keeps telling me that after 7 years it may be too late for her to say yes...haha... but i would say if i was ever in the wild again, i don't think i would mind either way..tattooed or not, if ya got it, ya got it!
