Im getting tattooed by Jef Whitehead today, in january im planning on starting my back with Brian Bruno.

so god damn excited. i'm getting tattooed this friday by dan santoro. getting a bracelet around my wrist and another tattoo. for my second tattoo, i'm going in there with the intention to just pick something off of the wall. if all else fails, i'll go with a dragon.

The artist doing my kneecap had a scheduling conflict, so he had to cancel last weekend's session, which means I'm not back in with him until October 7th. I consoled myself by booking with Bryan Burk for his upcoming Blackheart visit. The man is incapable of doing anything less than badass.

Lather. Rinse thoroughly." My wife actually started showering with it! She says it's gentle on her skin, but I really think she uses it as a ploy to get me to pay more attention to her. :o

I didn't have a problem putting lotion ony my back piece because I didn't put a single drop on at all. I juat washed it in the shower like normal and let my body do it's thing. Still one of the best healed tattoos I've ever had.

yeah, why would you want someone help you to properly take care of a large tattoo that you've invested your time, money and pain into? One that's physically impossible to reach by yourself with any level of consistency? :D

Got in another 5 hours on my tiger last night @Memoir w/Spencer. He put on a thicker outline, a bunch of shading, and white in the whiskers & eyes. Next session (in 3 weeks) he's going to add a couple of mandalas to it.

Now officially booked in to be tattooed by Frank Carter and Sarah Schor (well, Sarah Carter now i'm guessing?) on the 12th of October at frith street. Ribs and inner bicep, gonna be a fun day!

I've changed things up a bit on my leg day using GVT 10X 10 for the last six weeks , also introduced some HIT cardio sessions 1 min max iintervals for 9 is my best on a spinning bike .

Yeah I knew Tas pretty well, he was seeing my sister for a while, she got a bunch of stuff by him which is stunning.

god, so fucking lame. i never support these shows, because they're a joke, but this one might be funny to watch.

my favorite loose quote on this would be from the Chad Koeplinger T.A.M. interview when he says something along the lines of it almost being a duty to be tattooed all over so you have some idea of what the customer is going through. i like to get tattooed regularly because it definitely makes me more patient with my customers when they start squealing. jst before i started getting my backpiece done i remember a bloke came into the shop for a tattoo from my then boss. it was a big lower backpiece and he wriggled like hell. i definitely remember thinking like 'for f!ck sake man grow up and stop moving' didn't occur that my boss never commented. any way next week i started on my back and within 10-15 minutes it was like......OH! needless to say i'm a lot more sympathetic to my customers having work on their back now

That wasn't an accident. There are more LST members in there too. It was an honour to be involved with this series. Chris Grosso is such an awesome guy who really "gets it" when it comes to tattooing and tattoo fandom. We actually missed having him around when shooting finished. Usually when someone has a camera in my face I'm glad to see them go. If we all watch these episodes online, watch the first season and tell our friends about them, maybe then the sponsors will see fit to finance more episodes in the future. Also Chris' co producer Lauren Cynamon and editor Jarad Jeter are the skilled guys who make the show immensely watchable and make Valerie and I look like coherent, interesting individuals. I'm looking forward to the rest of the episodes but I think Thom's will be something special. I liked the whole experience so much I put a sticker where I'll see it every day:

Thanks for the input guys. I guess I'm just paranoid. The tattoo was done by Steve Byrne at Rock of Ages in Austin. I've gotten a few from him and can't say enough good things.

Ok here goes. Goofy dragon by Marie Sena (who happens to be the nicest person in the universe) done at the Montreal tattoo convention yesterday. This takes up most of the front of my thigh and only took three hours! She is a wizard. It was a fantastic experience. Inspired by the 100-year-old piece of flash that I gushed about here.

This is certainly just my 2 cents, but for me it would be a personal connection thing. One of my favorite things about getting tattooed is listening to some of the great stories artists have about getting tattooed themselves. There's a camaraderie I feel with other tattooed people that I just don't know I'd feel with someone who isn't very tattooed. This is really all just speculation for me though because I've not found anybody I'm eager to get tattooed by that isn't heavily tattooed.

Thanks @SStu . @Iwar my left leg is a Shige/Grime squid pant. Shige has done a big dragon up top I posted it somewhere in the latest lowdown. I have two pieces from Grime on my lower leg, Hannya which i use for my avatar and a creepy snake lady with tits. @hogg forgot to mention about pain..... Yep there are definitely some fun spots around the lower back/arse/hip area. There seems to be a lot if nerve endings that make me want to twitch hence a couple of squiggly lines Dean pointed out,haha but I know you know all about that.

I try to think what I would do in that situation, but it really is irrelevant because the kid is not even a kid he's 21 and I like tattoos and wouldn't have a leg to stand on even if I didn't feel that way. I guess I could look at if my son got a face piercing, but the only thing i would probably say is why didn't you get a tattoo and inform him that piercing is to tattooing as rollerblading is to skateboarding, just to give him a hard time. Then I would remember he was 21 and suggest we go get a beer.

This tattoo was done on my boss Ross Ferrie by Pinky Yun in 1982. Ross always tells this story of getting this dragon along with many others of Pinky. Pinky basically dipped a toothipick in some black ink gave himself a few reference points and just started tattooing on his arm. Ross admits he wasn't so sure at the time but the end result turned out. The other photo is Ross and Pinky in 1982 and a painting our friend Ashley did for Ross shortly after Pinky's death. Note Ashley painted this while in New Zealand only from what he remembered it looking like.
