  1. Final bit done on my Horiyoshi III piece. Tattooed by @Stewart Robson at Frith Street Tattoos. I love the detail & colours in this. Horiyoshi, himself, liked this on Stewarts Instagram. Thats one hell of a compliment.

  7. Forget all that bullsit about names. That's why they make black ink-if you want the name there, go for it. As for step-whatevers, lose that too. Just my humble little opinion. MY fiance came with a daughter that I love as one of my own.

    Relationships and tattoos

One statement that drives me crazy from people that I know (friends and family) that have seen me collect tattoos is: "So when are you going to move on to your head/neck?" in a sarcastic/ joking way. I've decided if I'm talking to a woman, I going to say "Oh, you shave your legs- when are you moving on to your head?"

    Dumb Hipster Tattoos

It doesnt seem to me like you're trying to cover your hands or fingers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting a bunch of tattoos on your forearm. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If there's any concern about work or your profession, then put on a long sleeve shirt and hold your arm straight up in the air. Make a note of where the shirt cuff falls to and dont go any furthur down than there.

    Tattoo Scars

I wouldn't flat out say "heavy handed vs light handed" tattooing will cause or not cause scars as this really is in two realms that are not my expertise. This being said I have done a bit of research after my own discovery of my tattoos being raised/itchy/etc. When you cause trauma to the skin (aka being jabbed with a needle a whole bunch) you are going to create scar tissue. Scar tissue is different from regular skin tissue as it is not composed of the same "stuff" as regular skin. Raised scaring that can be accompanied with itchiness (in my case during hot/humid weather or irritation) is usually classified as hypertrophic scarring. In extreme cases the devolpment of keloids (highly doubt anyone here has experienced keloids). With hypertrophic scarring symptoms are raised scar tissue that is red in color (since we have a whole bunch of ink in there you wont see the redness) and itchiness of the scar. Like I stated before with the same artist I have some that are raised (you can feel the entire tattoo's image) and another that is completely flat, so I would rule out heavy vs light handed. To sum up it is normal, completely fine and just a simple part of being a tattooed person. Sources: http://www.molmed.org/pdfstore/09_153_Gauglitz.pdf

    Hiiiii

So my tattoo is a little over two weeks old and has no other signs of infection , but it has a tendency to get really warm (sometimes pink along with the warmness but not always). I went to my usual artist's shop and they looked at it and said it looked like it was healing up fine (and it could be tender and healing internally since it's close to the knee), but what's going on? - - - Updated - - - Has anyone had a similar problem? - - - Updated - - - The sides and top don't really ever get red and seem to be fine , it's more of the top of my thigh and especially close to the knee.

    Art thread.

Earlier this month was the Ice Plant art show celebrating the oldest (municiple) skatepark in the us, and some buddies of mine did a pull-a-trick-out-of-the-hat (literally put paper notes in a hat) and paint whatever you picked out. My friend Adam Stab grabbed Stalefish.

  25. The first one of these traditional dog portraits I saw was done by Chris Conn on my boss back in mid 90's. I started seeing more of them in the last year and I agree I think they are way cool and perfect for something like a picture of your dog. You can have a little more fun with them as well, capture some of their personality.

    finer things in life

I like those, but knowing my lifestyle, there's no way I could ever keep those in one piece. Now THESE- I LOVE these: and when I wear lighter/ navy stuff, I have these: I have classic Doc 8 holes for when I ride my motorcycle, some lace up gray Vans, cordovan pennies and brown Bucs for work/dress casual, and twenty year old black Florsheim wing tips when I want to shine suckers: Old man shoe game

  44. And calling me a total dick when you don't even know me is pretty lame, btw. I don't know who you have problems with at the shop or why, but I don't know you. You don't know me. Name calling on the Internet is chickenshit. In case you haven't noticed, vice magazine has a really good way with making people sound like assholes. The stuff I said was back and forth between myself and the writer through emails, without me knowing that it would be later be used in an interview. She contacted me to see of she could get in touch with the lady I tattooed, and ended up putting all my responses in interview form, which I suppose I should have read over prior to giving her permission to use it. But in the end, I'm not apologizing for doing my fucking job. And as far as "making everybody look bad"? To who? Explain who I made look bad here, other than myself.

  46. Honestly, I don't care how many of you are friends with or know the dude who did it. He never should have done the tattoo. It's shit like that, which gives everyone else a bad name. Doesn't matter how good of a tattooer the dude supposedly is, he just ruined someone's life. For real. Having a band tattoo on your arm or leg that you later regret is one thing. Having it across your entire fucking forehead? Totally horrible. It kind of makes me mad that we can have a heated discussion over weather people should be tattooing hands, where most people say no you shouldn't unless it's a heavily tattooed person who you know. Yet something like this just makes people laugh and think nothing less of the guy who did it. Fuck that. Bad idea on her part, his (tattooers) part, and bad idea on whoever manages that shop for letting it happen. I already think one dude from that shop is total dick, now I kind of think that about two people there. Needless to say, I will never be taking my business there.

    Art thread.

These paintings are done by a guy who calls himself Taco Werewolf. I wish I was in Florida so I could take a photo of the letter he sent me (I purchased a painting from him online). In the letter he mentions putting his finger print on the back of the painting as well as signing it with his real name too just to make sure. Anyways I think they are pretty great and at $100 I can see why they are all sold but one. If you go to his website there is a very detailed description of each painting expelaining why he painted it and what it means. He's just some weird dude who is really into Obama.
