As promised here are (finally) some shots of what I got from Matt Cunnington Westside Tattoo - Professional Services - Brisbane, QLD | Facebook about a month ago. I apologise for the crappy pics, but its a hard spot to take your own photos of. And the pics are off a phone so be nice lol. I missed out on the Flash day that they had and rang in on the right day at the right time and bypassed a long ass waiting list. Matt came in on his day off because he really wanted to do it and ended up completely redrawing the design fresh to fit my leg and add some ground to it. It was a really amazing experience and Matt is a gentleman and a scholar. I wish these photos did the tattoo justice so I'll upload better ones when I can (there's about 4 or 5 shades in the pattern on the little guys back)

First of all, the guy takes me in early for my appointment. WTF? Then he has the nerve to have my tattoo already drawn up and looking perfect. The SOB even takes the time to work with me on size and placement. While he's tattooing me, he has a great conversation with my wife and treats her super nicely. Fucking unbelievable. He takes his time and gives me a gorgeous new tattoo, all the while acting like a consummate professional. Something has to be done about this guy. He's too nice, too professional, and too damn good.

My wife wants a kitsune sleeve from timothy hoyer.....I cant wait till she starts that.

I have been there a few times, and like you I am a Northeast corridor kid born and raised. I always enjoyed myself out there, it is a really young city it seems, which has its pros and cons. I am sure some of the people on here have great insight into the area, but I would just commend you in the gumption to go for it. There might be something that clicks as soon as you get there, or it might be just another step in the right direction. You would never know if you didn't make the trip, and shit you might find a place that seems perfect before you even get all the way to the other side of the country, good luck regardless on your endeavors.

Yeah, syringes never bothered me much - and I have no fear of tattoo machines (well, except for some choice body areas), but I never equated hypo needles with tattoo needles. No real correlation for me.

I pulled these from an add advertising tattoo parties. They also sell "tattoo supplies" now. I made some comments. Feel free to let them know what you think as well.

When I think of classic tattoo design this pic comes to mind. I have a web on my arm, but have not done any jail time in my adult life. But if someone was thinking about starting shit with me and didn't because of my tattoo I wouldn't be offended.

I hear ya. This happened a lot at the last shop I worked at. My default fix was to put long eyelashes on it if the piece is an animal. If its a inanimate desgin I just use the power of suggestion after drawing up the design and telling them, "see what I did there? (points to whatever) That's to give it a more delecate feminine vibe" They almost always go with it.

More garbage brought in from an iphone. Nothing will change. At least if you work in a street shop.
