    Short attention span and a pain-in-the-ass scanning setup. I'm gonna post the front and back cover, and about 20 pages, and see if y'all think it's worth doing. There are A LOT of pages in the mag, so it may be better if I scanned it into a PDF and gave it to an admin to set-up as a download? - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - -

Huge thanks, @Dan S! I know that many LSTers will likely look at those images and shudder at the quality of the artwork--I'll admit that I'm not jonesin' to wear a lot of what's shown there--but I still love it and recognize that those folks really paved the way for people like me. It's funny to look at the relatively small scale of some of those tattoos as compared to the full backpieces/sleeves/suits people get left and right these days, but it's important to remember just how insane that stuff was at the time. And the ladies with face tattoos...my god, I can't even get my head around how nuts that must've been! And how funny is this? An old friend emailed me last night with a Wild Bill story. He's the guy with the full suit (largely by Ed Hardy) posing with two naked ladies in your third pic down. Thanks again.

    On my Facebook page

I love this story. A 50- something year old white woman arrived at her seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat. The seat was next to a black man. Disgusted, the woman immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat. The woman said "I cannot sit here next to this black man." The fight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat." After checking, the flight attendant returned and stated "Ma'am, there are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class." About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "The captain has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one in first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class." Before the woman could say anything, the attendant gestured to the black man and said, "Therefore sir, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person." Passengers in the seats nearby began to applause while some gave a standing ovation

Glad 'yall are enjoying these...I will try to get another 20 pages up today or tomorrow. Bikers, sailors, and convicts, ya know?! When I started getting tattooed, that was pretty much the clientele. Oh, not exclusively, but damn near. I remember that CTC had club colors on the wall that they put onto new members of the club-I'm not gonna say which one, but it wasn't a Chicago-based club, and you could usually find a motorsickle or two in the area. A lot of that work, if you look closely, is prison-made. There is some really excellent stuff given the conditions and equipment. The not-so-good stuff you see? Well, all you gots to do is look at the backpage ad for S&R to explain that! Anyhow, I guess those times sum up the way I look at my work. It's a testament to places and faces, runs and fun, fights and bad times, just a life lived. If a line isn't perfect, or there's a tiny flaw in the color, well shit, that's life. - - - Updated - - - That's goodie, Kyle! Always got a kick out of "Old Town Tattoo"...if he had called it "in the middle of the ghetto tattoo", no one would have gone near it, but sure nuff, Larrabee n Armitage was a good ways out of Old Town.

@Dan S that is some seriously cool stuff! Keep 'em coming! Also @hogg @Lochlan as far as public forums (or websites in general) if it is sourced correctly (especially out of print stuff) it should be fine but there is a clause in the laws (USA at least) that LST must comply with the wishes of the copywrite holders to take down anything if they ask. As far as I'm concerned I think this might fall under "fair-use".

  26. I second this. This story is GOLD. My question is though, even if @Lochlan was into tap dancing, why would he wear his shoes to pick up the kids? - - - Updated - - - Actually... after thinking about it for a second if Uncle Loch was into tap dancing, then why wouldn't he wear the tap shoes to pick the kids up ;) Either way, this is awesome. Can we get him a pair of tap shoes for the next time he has to grab the kids from school?

  27. I say, be punk rock about it. Don't let the "man" hold you down. If someone is going to deny me a job because of how I've decided to decorate my skin, then that's not a person I wanna work for. Getting visible tattoos is a lifestyle decision, so doing it means you truly need to commit to it and be aware of all of the consequences of those actions. I'm not saying don't do it. I'm saying that if you do it, do it for you, know what it means, and know the doors it will close (and open) for you.

  37. You asked for feedback... The hand tattoo (that started this thread) is average at best. The design is bland in comparison to the many unique skull and cross bone designs I've seen out there. Skull and cross bones is a timeless design and this one came out a little soft and cartoonish for a hand tattoo in my humble opinion. I think it could have been slightly larger to fill out the hand and looks lonely without anything on your forearms as others have already commented. It's your tattoo to wear everyday, not ours. So really what's important is that you are happy with it and you believe it is awesome. "It's just a tattoo" was some of the most prolific advice I got from one of the top tattooists in town. Though for you original poster, "it's just a tattoo...on your hand".
