I also took my copy of his book over there hoping he would sign it for me, he asked me to leave it with him a few days so i did, when i came back to collect it he had done this for me, as you can see i was pretty happy with it haha. Such a nice bloke.

lady just walked in the shop, wanting to get her tattoo recolored and what not, asked her where and when she got it tattooed ''some hells angels place 20 years ago'', which here in Amsterdam means Hanky panky's original shop on the oudezijds voorburgwal she said some guy named Robert, showed her a picture of Bob Roberts and she confirmed it was him, just sent the image to Charlie to see if he can tell if its legit or not, but thought it was pretty cool.

Aside from showing respect to this forum, you have no respect for your craft, no respect for your mentor. and no repect for yourself. get over the internet, it's not how you learn the trade or solve problems. i dont buy that excuse that you cant get tattooed at another shop go to the next county over. your fucking people up and aew not even making a real attempt to solve your problem. google is not for tattooers. but i supose i am beating a dead horse. and what do i know i am just an apprentice who slaves 80 hours a week in trade for proper training in the craft. so fuck what i say. but you should be working harder.

  12. Hey there, @Daggboy! Nice to see you here again, buddy. I'm in a similar boat, as the back of my thighs are taken by my backpiece. I'm planning to get Americana pieces on the front of my thighs. Gotta keep doing squats to get more real estate. :)

I can't help but read this as "I'm too busy making money to properly learn the craft." Maybe I'm missing it but I don't see what shop you work at and your gallery appears to be empty. Maybe you can shut us all up with the quality of your work. You came for advice and got it and I know for a fact plenty of the people offering the advice you're not willing to accept are coming from a place of experience and offering their clients work of marked quality. If not them, who are you willing to learn from? I may be a hardass about this stuff but it's older than all of us. I count myself blessed to be a part of it and have seen far too many people walk fresh faced into it demanding that it change to suit them. This thing wasn't designed to suit the overly eager and unbending. It was designed to weed them out.

  18. this whole best thing just reminded me of joe rogan and mike goldberg. the annoucers for the ufc. everyone they talk about before a fight is the best at something in the world. the best striker to date the best grapler. or one of the best strikers or graplers or what have you. (sorry about the spelling, im in a rush) but i think if you watch mma you know what im talking about. everyones the god damned best its kinda comical ultimately, unlike fighting, there is no best in tattooing. some guys/girls are relavant for there time period and others are relevant for a bit longer. some styles are hot now and wont be tomorrow. so the "best" will always be presented through a revolving door. not to mention opinion takes president over all things.

  19. Going in June 2 to get a tudor rose on my elbow, with a compass rose above it covering up some old garbage, my birthday is the 3rd so its my present to myself. Stoked to finally cover up that old tattoo, and i just got out of a job where i couldnt have tattoos visible with a t-shirt, so im happy to finally be able to go on/below the elbow!

Sweet. That was a rough-ass 'hood back then, bigtime. Great place, tho', Cliff, Buddy, and Dale always had some craziness going on. You went east a bit on Belmont, you were at "Chickenhawk Corner" of Clark and Belmont, you went west a half-block, and you could see the look-outs on the rooftops and in the alleys with their walkie-talkies, ready to tip the dealers to the cops. It was always fun.

  22. Yeah thanks Jade! It is. I haven't had a 'walk-in' since I was 17 (now covered, the Tatt that is!!) 14 years ago so I'm going to leave it to fate & if he can ink me on Thursday then I will get the Dagger & Rose! exciting!

  23. Obviously everyone is different, but if I were a betting man I bet this was definitley the problem. I wonder if you'd had a proper night's sleep would have have had a totally different experience? I know I mentioned this before, but I got my chest panels done on different days (one side one day, other side the next). The first day I had gotten little sleep and was badly hungover. It was pretty hellish and I tapped out before we could outline the other side as planned. The next day I was much fresher and it was a way, way easier sitting. It was, in my head, as close as I will get to a controlled test of sleep versus no sleep for me when it comes to being tattooed. I find that burning / pins and needles / stinging sensation comes and goes after I get something... One minute you're feeling grand, the next it's like someone has poured iodine on it or something.

  25. I must admit the tattoo I got yesterday, on my inner thigh & shin area, was pretty painful (its on The latest tattoo lowdown thread). With most tattoo's I have found even on some nasty spots you get some respite, but this was relentless. There didn't seen to be any easy bits. I know I hadn't had much sleep the night before, that might have had something to do with it. Even on the train home it stung so much it felt like Mario had followed me onto the train and was still tattooing me.

yeah he's good friends with Henk Schiffmacher, and the old shop at the red light district was close to a local hells angels bar current day the shop is still there, run by hells angels, churning out terrible tattoos and Henk has a new shop with his daughter Morisson and Tycho Veldhoen thats the short story anyway haha

    Can't edit images

Look at the top of this page, there is a gray bar, find the "forum actions" tab and click on that. From the menu you get, select "edit profile". When you get there, look at the lefthand side if the page, and select "your gallery". To delete an image from your gallery, check the box on the righthand side of the image, scroll down, and hit delete.

Nor could I. He's either got a sense of humor or he's a total douchebag. On the evidence I would go for the douchebag option. If you search FBI badge on Google Images it's about the third one on the top row. Not one for putting himself out is Agent Oliver.

I have always been taught if you want to learn something from a tattooer, ask them while they are tattooing you. It may not work but it's your best shot. The answer you are looking for is not going to be covered in a couple of sentences in a forum post and really can't be surmised from the two sentences you have shared about your problem. You deal with customers you know how much easier it is to deal with people in person vs. on the phone or email.

I think a lot of bad tattoo stories start with "I went to a friends house to watch a UFC fight." I have a couple of those stories myself.

  49. Awww you got caught doing something shady, better pull our the cancer card!! @The Hyena Ron, you are a great guy and a great tattooer, you said all that was needed to be said, and you said it well. Like it has been said many times here and elsewhere, in the end, if you are the truly talented one, no one ripping you off will ever be as good and they will never be able to take away the true clients who can recognize quality tattooing. Unfortunately this type of thing is never going to stop happening and I commend any artist who stand up for themselves when they have been ripped off. Like I insinuated with my first remark of this post, and like others have said here, having cancer or any other illness doesn't mean you aren't an asshole and a thief. And to the 'friend' of Sue's sticking up for her, if Sue is such a commendable person why doesn't she come here herself and change our minds about what she did? Oh wait, it's cause she was wrong and nothing will change that.
