  1. I lived in Gainesville for years, did a good bit of growing up there. I remember Against Me! when it was just Tom and Kevin. I knew him from around but we were never "friends." However, our mutual friend Cody posted on the subject on facebook quite eloquently and I figured I'd share it here. I hope he won't mind. "About Tommy and Laura...I knew Tom when he was barely old enough to drink in a bar and we had a lot in common. We liked a lot of the same people, music, and cars. We shared friends. We were even the first two people to graduate from the dignity project in G'ville. You might say we crossed paths on the road many times (and we did). I wouldn't say we were close, but I called him a friend. I have always sensed something distant, and sad in him when we talked. I could never quite put my finger on it and and it bothered me. I guess I assumed it was just his way. When I saw him a month ago on the Revival Tour it was still there...more so I thought. So when I read today about Tom's choice to become a woman, I felt so happy and excited for her. I hope when I meet this new girl, Laura, that all the sadness and distance is gone and that for the first time I will meet the person that lies within. Not a different person. But a person free from the sadness and torment that she must have been holding onto for so long. I hope for her all the happiness in the world (the world owes her a little extra, in my opinion, for making people like her hide behind masks). She will forever have my support and friendship."

  2. Amazon.com: Used and New: Rocks of Ages: Being a Celebration & Manifestation of the Historic & Enigmatic Epidermal Icon As Seen by Various Artists $67 really isnt that bad for an out-of-print awesome book. I would buy it if i didnt own a copy already. Or, if you just want to look at it (and perhaps scan or photograph it) you can always use the inter-library loan program. I've had the chance to pore over multiple books that I would never have the chance to see or afford to buy. Public libraries for the win!

After reading some of the posts on here I decided to finally join. I'm from CT and have two half sleeves. One Japanese/Chinese and one American traditional. Most of my work is done by Grez at Kings Avenue in New York.

Once I finish my back piece I really want to get a lady head on my thigh (pretty much the whole thing). I really dig the lady with a panther, however, I was planing on getting a panther on that kneecap so I just can't decide! A lot of nice work here though maybe ill convince myself to just get a gypsy girl instead.

Can't agree more with @hogg Although I didn't do a panther or tiger. I completely love what I did get. He even said its not something he normally does. He is extremely efficient!!! Good luck on your decision and what you get.

@Cork, I can say from firsthand experience that Richard is very efficient, which makes his rate more than reasonable. At this point, he could legitimately charge "legend" prices, but he doesn't. Don't miss your opportunity to get some awesome from him!

Thanks Jennifer, I'd like to chat. Planning a wedding and a house purchase early next year, so coming up with a number ahead of time would ease my fiancee's mind. I'll brainstorm a bit and decide between a tiger or a panther, haha. I'll PM you when I can. I'm taking only a quick internet break at work. Thanks for the info.

  28. @Hunter Morrow what you do to yourself every morning in the shower would probably gross me out but WHO CARES. HOW IN THE SWEET FUCK CAN YOU CARE ABOUT THE DICK OF SOMEONE YOU WILL NEVER MEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Weird bugs gross me out, so I just ignore them and pretend they aren't there. Or I take a minute to realize nothing bad will come of that weird florida bug I've never seen before creeping on my front door and just let it do it's thing, dick or no dick.

  30. @Hunter Morrow...First, I think a person's ability to approach and speak of others with dignity and respect is a lot more telling than their gender (chosen/changed or otherwise) and given the choice, I'd much prefer to grab a drink with someone who makes their choices and faces the unkind world as they've chosen to live than someone spewing judgement, ridicule and hate. Second, how people identify themselves isn't an act against another person. He didn't do this *to* his wife. Third, fetishes are about sex not gender -- sex is something you do, gender is something you are. Or, more succinctly, "People care too much about other people's dicks/cunts." ( @Ursula)

Heating up a griddle pan to cook some flat iron steaks... I believe they're a shoulder cut from the cow, and are relatively cheap but tasty cuts. A fair bit of marbling on them. My steak method is derived from the Hawksmoor At Home cookbook. 1. Let the meat rest at room temp for at least an hour 2. Pat dry, you don't want it in a soupy juice 3. Season heavily with salt and pepper - almost forming a crust on the surface of the meat 4. Get a heavy cast-iron pan and get it so hot you can't put your hand near it even 5. Rather than using oil or anything else try and cut a piece of fat from a steak and rub that on the pan if you think it needs it 6. Personally I like to flip the steak every 60 seconds until it's cooked to taste, rather than letting it bed in on one side for longer than that. This method probably works better if you're *not* using a griddle type pan. If it's a heavy Le Creuset griddle or something then if, like me, you like the black char lines then you wait longer. 7. Remember to allow time to let the steak rest for a few minutes, and bear in mind that it'll keep cooking during this period Om nom nom nom

  34. Vibrating bone, eh? Hate it when that happens. Keep up with the pushups and I'm sure that as your strength increases, that will go away. I used to leg press but some how it always manages to be the first removed from my regimen when I try different things. My leg day used to be squats, leg press, walking lunges, seated extensions. Now since I split my leg day into two, it's a whole lot of squats, front squats, dead lifts, and glute ham raises since I have discovered the importance of a well developed posterior chain, which leg press does nothing for. Most people who have lower back problems have them from an underdeveloped posterior chain. Substituting leg press for squats is only enforcing that weakness. This is coming from my own personal experience. My lower back sucked and I would be afraid of hurting myself on every dead lift day. My core is now stronger than it has ever been, especially my lower back, and it's been through many grueling core strength exercises and strict strengthening of the arch in the lower back.
