sorry but this drives me fucking crazy. the plural of tattoo is TATTOOS. not Tattoo's. same with guy, it's guys. example: hey guys, your tattoos are really cool. v.s. that guy's tattoo looks cool. I can see that the tattoo's got yellow and red in it. anyways.. .continue...3 points -

I would have enjoyed this thread a lot more if you posted the work of someone you thought was doing something really cool than slagging someone not here to defend themselves. There are so many shitty tattooers in every town everywhere now. How about ignoring them and progressing and drawing attention to people doing the same.3 points -

Not to make your welcome too hostile, I swear this is a really nice place to be, but you call yourself "tattooist"...and it's my understanding that you don't tattoo? That's not cool. In fact it's the exact opposite of cool. You may find that a lot of us who take our industry seriously feel strongly about our hard-earned place in it. Words mean things.1 point -
Ok so it's a Quirke. Pretty close, though.1 point

Day by day I hope it improves. Old Doc Webb said "In times when your broke, ya can't eat it or pawn it but it's always gonna be there to share the times with you". We just don't like it when it stands up! Ha! Thanks for the update Boodah!1 point

Healed Tattoo Swollen
Skeochimon reacted to hawk for a topic
Free dermatology advice is what your searching for whether ya know it or not,but that's OK, tattooers often know more about the afflictions in tattoos than the local dermatologist. With that said, let me state that there are pigments coming into countries form other countries that are not entirely sound, why would China care about cheap tattoo pigments when they don't seem to care about the paint they spay on kids toys. Anyhow, I don't think this is the case for you, mainly because it took this much time to appear and you had no initial reaction during and after the healing. I "suspect" that you have recently been outside in the Springtime season when the suns rays are closer to the Earth than any other time of the year and the pigments can react to that and become "puffy", your saying that it's not itchy and irritating tells me that it's not a "rejection" of the skin. I have witnessed this with some of the import pigments received off places like EBay. I may also be a "mild" rejection but I lean towards the sun diagnosis. So, I would have to say without being a bonified doctor that, breath easy and wait it out as I feel that the puffy area's will subside in time, this area of time will probably be as much as 6 weeks and if it does persist and more importantly become irritating, first consult the shop that executed the tattoo and if you don't feel satisfied with their advice then see your dermatologist. Be cautious of what they recommend to do though and consult LST before committing to something that sounds drastic as some will recommend procedure's based on the quality of insurance you might have. Keep us up to date on your progress/recovery as there are very knowledgeable people here on this site. Also, it would be good for a you to at least call the place ya got from for input and ya never know, they may need to change up on what they are usein and need to know. Good luck1 point -

I must admit, I thought that the mainstream popularity of MMA would result in the rapid fading away of pro-wrestling. It baffles me why people would watch larger-than-life characters having 'worked' fights when they could watch larger-than-life characters having real, unscripted fights. When I read this thread the only thing that really comes to mind is that in every country I have visited I have met people I liked and people I disliked, and usually met a fair number of people who break the national stereotype. I've met warm, funny germans. Ugly swedish women. Tee-total Irish people. Scots who were generous with their money*. Informal, spontaneous Japanese people... etc. Clearly there are movements or trends of some sort within various countries (like, the German public do appear to favour austerity as a response to the economic crisis more than those of other European countries), but if there are exceptions to every rule, then how useful are the stereotypes in our dealings with people day-to-day? *Actually, this is a lie, sorry Gregor. Although if it's any consolation my older brother is even cheaper. He's like the queen of england, he never carries money.1 point

Anybody have a favorite record? I know this might be a "hipster" answer but Paul's Boutique was my first Beastie Boys record and it is genius. Before the rap they were a pretty good hardcore band, believe it or not. The commentators are right. They hade a big Germs and Adolescents vibe to them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9lsix3nA-E&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClA59Nor1fU&feature=related1 point -

@Iwar I'm getting either a squaw or a cowgirl on a horse on my upper outside thigh. Don't know if we will get it done in one shot. If not a return visit (wouldn't that be awful ;)) On Sunday I'm with Eli Quinters at Smith Street. I'm getting a palm sized rose with a banner with Brooklyn or BKLYN, whatever fits best. What are you getting from Bailey?1 point

The dreaded wait to be tattooed
gougetheeyes reacted to jayessebee for a topic
I have been getting tattooed about ever 2 weeks all winter (hardly any of it planned, just opportunity), and im starting to heal pretty crap... That said I have an appointment with Matt Bivetto in 2 weeks and I plan on starting my back this summer haha1 point -
I love being tattooed, So far everyone that has tattooed me has been very nice to talk with and been pretty open talking with me. I got a cool tattoo on my belly a few weeks ago, David was kind enough to offer me a look at his ben corday tattoo travel book and also showed me some of his work (he had a cool stell eagle and a grime piece that he showed when the artists came up in conversation). I realize I am a customer, and I am there for a tattoo but its the little things like conversation or the buzz of the shop or all the flash on the wall that has me wanting to get tattooed even more. The pain is a non issue1 point

I just had 2 tattoos finished over the past week or so and I've came to the conclusion, I fuckin love having tattoos but I hate getting tattooed and having to heal them !!! I just want a magic painless tatty zapper, someone please invent this now....Pain then pain then itch ....1 point -
So, my Lady and I went into Chicago Tattoo last night for our appointment, figured we'd be in an out in a few hours, had a small custom piece designed, a little coverup on my knees, no big thang. Wrong. First, Kathy spots an ancient Sailor Jerry design on the wall, and it's "can we do that instead?". Yes Dear. Then Nick shows me the drawings he's done for my coverups, and they were just a wee tad larger than I had thought.... Ah well, ended up staying for five hours, and walking out with some beautiful work. I've got to say, Nick Colella is, imho, about the best there is at Traditional American tattooing today. Anyhow, here's a few pix. The last pic is the old firecracker pack the cat heads came from.1 point

I want to make it real clear that the six month wait WAS NOT at Chicago Tattoo! The artist in question had been working there when he did my piece, but then moved-on and became all popular and hip and so-forth. Anyhow, for a typical waiting time at Chicago Tattoo, I e-mailed Nick Colella there this morning, and have appointments for my Lady and myself this Wednesday evening. Guess I can wait a day!1 point -
There's sooo many awesome amazing tattooist out in the world these days, that its hard to just come up with one.
