Latest tattoo lowdown.....
Kingdomhearts25 and 5 others reacted to RoryQ for a topic
Oliver Peck panther head. I heard on Thursday that he was in Dublin (in Tommy's Classic Ink) for one day only, and taking walk-ins. Took a half-day's leave from work and... Bob's your uncle... This morning it's not that swollen, but it does appear to be weeping a fair bit - to do with the location, I guess? While I was in the shop I met Ross Nagle and Jordan from Frith Street very briefly.6 points -

@CultExiter (and everyone, I suppose) Just call the shop and ask how much your tattoo will cost. Speculation of cost, with strangers, on the Internet doesn't help anyone. If you don't think the cost is worth it, get tattooed by someone cheaper. Also, I've been working right next to Chris, watching him work and speaking to his clients. None of them said he was heavy handed. Regardless of cost, pain and speed. You will get a great tattoo from O'Donnell though. Enjoy. I'll say this again: price is dictated by demand. If something is in high demand, it will probably cost more than something readily available.4 points -

they/we mostly like to talk about cost before plans are made. Pretty much the same as anything you buy. If you can't afford it, you don't buy it. Easy.3 points -

I am the same way. I was raised to believe that any discussion of money, outside of close friends and family, was rude. I realize that there are many situations that this is not true, and paying for a tattoo is one of them, but it is hard to shake things that are ingrained in you. I think that it is a big part of Southern culture. Never talk about money, never ask someone who they are going to vote for, and never send food back in a restaurant, no matter how bad it is.2 points -

Local dude Panhandle Slim aka Scott Stanton has been(illegally-ish) putting up his paintings all over town recently, as opposed to his standard hanging & selling them in galleries. Pretty cool stuff. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=297975868496&set=a.209074463496.129527.814093496&type=3&theater#!/profile.php?id=814093496 some of you might remember Scott from the 80s2 points

Tattoos and Immune System

I've thought about this too and im sure its just you not taking care of yourself. Im also behind a bar 6 days a week for at least 13 hours and doing weekly sessions. For the most part I feel fine, but when I start feeling weak its always after not taking care of myself.... drinking to much, eating junk, and smoking to much. My body fights off colds pretty good, so I dont feel down for to long.2 points -
hear is a funny quote from john welborn who runs crossfit football taking a little stab at his/my own ilk "Any crowd that shuns supplements, shoes, strength and curls is confusing. Any demographic striving for elite human performance should be looking to increase recovery, muscle and strength. The same confusion extends to the people who won’t wear shoes when they lift because it is not functional or do not think strengthening your biceps brachii through isolated single jointed movements has benefit. If your goal is elite human performance, things like supplements to aid in recovery, shoes to increase your lifts and curls to strength your biceps brachii for pulling movements makes total sense." ps - I have been "crossfitting" (don't really like this term as i know it has a dirty connotation to some) for 5 years and love it. I was a division 1 college athlete and have been involved in strength and conditioning for a long time. It's certainly not the only way to train, but it works great for me - Like anything open source, that grows as quickly as CF has, you are going to have good and bad coaches. Somebody has mentioned the mobilitywod.com It is a great source and I am lucky to say that Kelly is my coach at San Francisco Crossfit. If I am not there doing kipping pull-ups you will find me in my garage following westsides conjugate method or running up and down my block dragging chains behind me. Peace & Love - Now lets go pick some heavy things up and put them back down.2 points

Cool thread! That first piece is killer, but her right hand and left arm looks a little bit strange to me. Maybe just the picture, or maybe just me... I don't know. The piece as a whole looks really bad-ass though! Most of you have already seen my front piece, but I found a better picture of it on Marius' blog a while back, so here's to those who haven't seen it already (sorry about the insane size of the photo)2 points -
@Reyeslv Be great to hook up I've booked my flight and hotel. I'm booked in with Bailey Robinson on the 9th June. Might get time to pop into Smith Street. Let me know when you get your dates sorted.1 point

That was just what I heard from someone who got tattooed by him 13 plus years ago. Things do change. And I totally agree, he's worth it. And luckily I'll probably have 6 months to a year to start putting money away (if not longer). Thanks for all the sound advice.1 point -
Managed to squeeze in another 10kg on my lat pull down. Did 4 sets to failure (between 10-8 reps) on 65kg. Always feels like a great achievement when i can go heavyer then the week before and keeps me motivated. I started working out to lose body fat, but it has turned into a hobby/obsession now. Love it1 point

Aw shit, the other pic I posted didn't show up - must be link-proof. Anyway, it was an Oompa-Loompa from Willy Wonka, provided for comparison purposes. The photo that did show up is a tattoo from Best Ink ep. 2 that Frisch's Big Boy et al thought was... *shudder* good.1 point -

That's always the issue isn't it. So, I'm officially recanting my entry of O'Donnell into the "Hardest Artist To Book" thread. I know I'm not getting in next week or anything, but his wife is super responsive at returning emails and was willing to work around my schedule so that I could come in and have a consultation. Deposit is $300, which makes sense, b/c I'm pretty sure he's around $150 an hour. I couldn't be more stoked, except for the whole I'll be eating rice and beans for the next few months thing. But whatever.1 point -

@Barbie Doll just took me to Kaji sushi in the mission for the first time last week and it was pretty damn good. other than that, I like the sushi boats in japan town @ isobune and if you feel like making a trek (not that far at all) over the golden gate bridge to sausalito try sushi ran. have a good trip1 point -
6 hours on the back yesterday... It's a little sore today. Shading is harsher then outline and yesterday was shading over the ribs. Everyone that came over to take a look said the same thing "I'm glad my back is done". Then they talked about what a bitch getting a back piece is!!!1 point
