  10. Seeing those awesome Bert Grimm pictures in recent posts reminds me of this traditional design which is originally credited to an unknown artist ca.1900. The combatants are said to be locked in "mortal combat " How do u like yours done?Do you favour the more chinese ,crazy looking traditional dragon a la Jerry Collins.Or are you partial to a more Japanese version ? Even the animals are subject to change -who do you like to see in the mix ?

  17. I believe the nerve endings on the torso are more sensitive as to protect your organs from being damaged or at least to let you realize the severity of an injury in that area. Boney areas feel more like road rash ( think skinned knee ), muscle areas aren't too bad but fatty areas can feel like they're being cut. Areas of your body that get banged up semi often (outside of you arms) are going to generally hurt less than the back of your knees or inside of your arms. And... A skilled artist will hurt less than an amateur.

  18. It's been a while, but I don't remember posting this. My wife said I did a lot of things yesterday that I can't seem to recall. Good times brought to you by alcomohallll. [edit] I also noticed a trend with my drunk posts. And I seem to follow D's posts quite a bit. So could be my international drinking buddy or I just stock him when I'm drunk.

    My Laser Chronicles....

it's been 2 months now since my first treatment, I wish I took the before in the same light as the after but if you look close you can see that just the one treatment has done quite a bit to the tattoo... I'm going in on Wednesday for a second treatment and this time they'll treat the whole area instead of doing half and half. Hopefully 2 maybe 3 more treatments and I'll be done with the laser :D

  20. wow, the Spectrum gets some bad writers. "It's hard to believe that in 2012, issues like feminism, freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and the inherent rights people have over their own bodies are…well, even issues in the first place." Really? Is that hard to believe? I don't actually really get his point because I don't think he has one. If that lame chick who thinks it's immoral to have tattoos can write her opinion and enjoy her "freedom of expression"... then, what's the problem with people writing e-mails replying to her? "At this point, I feel it's necessary to clarify my own standing on tattoos, because [blah blah blah]..." Um, no. Who the hell cares what your standing on tattoos is? "Right now, your heads and the multitude of piercings in them are probably bobbing up and down in agreement." Again, no, you condescending jackass. Oh boy. I think that movie Idiocracy is really coming true.

  23. For one thing, I find it hard for someone to write an article like this about tattoos without having a tattoo. It sounds from her article that she has some self-image issues. I also picked up that she has her own pretty well defined idea of what personal decoration is, which is fine but to say what looks good as a black and white fact is impossible since looks are all about opinions and not about facts. I prefer to tattoo my body, as some prefer to go to the gym, or buy "nice" clothes. I also find an attractive quality in girls that have tattoos, in the fact that they are confident enough to have one and also confident enough to commit to an idea for life. The attractive quality of other peoples' tattoos are not always about the actual image (although some can be amazing), it is more however the concept. Also my opinion about girls who go out of their way to look 'perfect' is actually unattractive, because it seems that they are not confident enough in their own skin.

  25. HOLY. SHIT. As soon as I heard her say 'about' I was like wow this must be Canadian, then the huge flag background a few seconds later proved it. Now I'm a little paranoid that I sound like her...

  27. Yeah so her article talking about how everyone took her original one out of context. Bullshit. She's still an idiot who thinks being skinny and wearing cool clothes is gonna make her happy. There's a poll included in the article "has your opinion of Lisa changed after reading this" 90% of people said NO. She claims no one discussed her POV and just insulted her. I'm pretty sure in this thread alone 3-6 people quoted directly from her article with direct responses, that makes me think that a lot of other people probably did too. Shannon's right, her rebuttal should have been called "19 year old runs her mouth". I wish I could walk down the street with her just to prove how many more heads get turned at the sight of my tattooed attractive self then they do at her. Wearing fancy jeans and doing your hair isn't what dudes like (at least not the smart ones who are looking for more sex). What really gets you a man, or a job, or self esteem is being confident in yourself. Maybe your confidence does come from shopping at the mall and getting your nails done. But guess what, a lot of women find confidence in themselves without all those things. Many women find their self confidence through their intelligence, through their family, their job, their education, their art. I'm sure she'd be shocked to hear a lot of women find their confidence through getting tattooed. Or what about a woman like our own board member Deb or Valerie, who are making a living and supporting themselves and in Deb's case her children through tattooing? I'd say it's a fuck of a lot more respectable to be someone like Deb who owns her own business and raised I believe 5 children and has kept up what seems to be an amazing marriage, then to be some bimbo married to a rich guy who spends her days shopping and getting her hair and nails done. Tattooing has supported me and my fiancé, has given me more opportunity to travel, meet new friends, be inspired, sell my artwork and live a happy life. Oh and the fact that she doesn't mention one thing about men getting tattooed...

  31. I have Baphomet on my left hand. So unless I'm wearing gloves I pretty much always have to rock the 'uncomfortable looks/questions' risk every time I talk to people. A little kid asked me once if it was "The Devil". Instead of getting all wordy, I said "yeah, because the DEVIL IS COOOOL". He smiled, the little scamp. Even kids love the dark lord.
