  1. Got this little inner biceps number from the most excellent Mr Stewart Robson at the Brighton Convention yesterday: I am exceedingly happy with it. Cheers Stewart.

  2. Got this from El Monga today. Gotta be the gnarliest tattoo I've had. It's in a real awkward spot. Underneath the inner bicep and then wrapped around part of the the back of the arm.

    Ink Masters

Incidentally- with wordpress, I can track how people get to Occult Vibrations; since Ink Master premiered on the 17th, "Oliver Peck" has moved to the third most searched term that leads people to OV. (first is Occult Vibrations, second is Thomas Hooper) More people come to OV by searching Peck's name in 12 days than in all of 2011.

  13. I'm not going somewhere exotic, but I'm going to the Oakland DMV in my LST t-shirt. Should I pose for a picture there? Or should I just photo-document any fights that break out while I'm there? I wish I had a spy camera in a bow-tie more than ever these days.

    Advice for sitting still(er)

When i got the top of my leg done (right above the knee) i had trouble with my reflexes and my lower leg twitching I got around it by relaxing my leg and hooking my foot around the table leg and i got through it without incidentally kicking the artist. who said he would "zap the shit out of my nuts", if i did hahaha

  16. Found this old poster for a yeast company at a folk park around Bunratty Castle (Ireland)... I can't find anything about the company, but it'd be rad if this was Grimshaw's reference. It's equally possible that he used the same reference as whoever designed that logo, though. (sorry about the glare, couldn't get a good photo without using the flash, and it was behind glass)

    Hello!

That's AWESOME, Big fan of Mr. Robson.... Visited FST twice in the last 7 months (From Arizona!!) both times to get some stuff from Stewart. Had my forearm and back done and I will say that he has a light touch. Each session was over 4 hours and I was able to do some sight-seeing the day after and fly without much discomfort. Good Luck, Look forward to seeing pics, ENJOY!!!!

  18. The wife and I took another photo (with an iguana!) that didn't come out, so I can only offer up this lonely, squinty photo of myself representing LST down around Puerto Morelos, before I gave up on snorkeling and felt queasy on the boat. SUCCESS If you own an LST shirt you are now obligated to go somewhere different and take an awkward photo to post..

    Hand Tattoos

First off, I apologise if there is already a 'hand tattoo' thread (palm tattoos & knuckles I could find), but damn it, after a really solid search I can't find shiet. SO, I figured I'd start this one, and then if there is another one then Mods by all means please move and/or delete thread. Also when I say 'hands' I'm talking the top of said hands, or fingers or chuck knuckles in here as well (the knuckle thread I could find, but hey if your feeling lazy feel free to drop them here) Posted in another thread but this is what inspired this one. By Ben Leland-Grillo Ben Leland-Grillo | Facebook By Franz Stefanik Tattoos by Franz Stefanik (seriously digging this guys stuff lately) ^^ Apologies, but I'm honestly not sure who did the above 2. Anyone who knows feel free to chime in ;) (I have my suspicions on who did the 'koi thumb sleeve')

  22. I heard somewhere that after you train at a busy gym doing anything on the ground (especially a BJJ / wrestling place) you have probably actually got a few bugs like staph on your skin afterwards. When you shower properly you wash 'em off. But if you've got an open wound, even a small cut, all bets are off. And staph is some serious shit!

  23. the contest is not over......you still have a few days. Hit the 'share' button on your post and get your friends to join and like it..... As for finished and unfinished...we didn't think that one out so I'll have to get back to you but Jake's is not finished either....shit I see it everyday around the house when he has his shirt off and it makes me eagerly wait to see it completed!

  24. @dari - sounds like you should really do both ;) (and I just realised I never took a goofy photo in japan with a 'I <3 LST' written on paper or on a plain white shirt, bugger. I'll be sure to do it next trip... or next time I go to the department of transport, which is our version of the DMV lol)

The photos are what matter. I would argue that Tim's and Jason's priorities ("art" over ego) might have something to do with what they produce. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. All I know is I'm not comfortable around the accolade acolytes.

Speaking of reality, anyone see Brooks' interview of Lehi in TAM? Nice to read a streamlined interview. Just the facts, ma'am. Both of those guys are absolute elite echelon tattoo artists. They've done their Japanese homework. It shows.

    Yet another newbie

I've decide to finally get my first tattoo at 50 something! I've been thinking about it since I was 18 and realized that I'm not getting any younger. At least this way I don't need to worry about what it will look like when I'm old :) I'm in the Winchester, VA area. I haven't decided on an artist yet, but will post in the main forum looking for recommendations.

    Hello!

It's with Stewart Robson at Frith Street in London (who I think is actually on here, so hello Stewart if you see this!). Getting a traditional Japanese courtesan lady on my thigh. That's part of the reason I think I'm nervous, because it's going to be pretty big. Excitement is overcoming nervousness though, and tbh since my consultation I've already hatched a plan for the rest of the leg, which the lovely lady that took my appointment warned me I would do :D.

  29. @Hrubarb got a few tats on his shin from @Scott Sylvia Friday afternoon. I told him, "No deadlifting for 2 weeks." I'm still waiting to hear if he made it to his workout session the next morning. I've had some bad experiences working out with an unhealed tattoo, mostly due to the omnipresence of staph in commercial gyms. You probably want to keep the tattooed area completely covered in the gym, and like @RoryQ said, don't do anything that would come into contact with it (i.e. shin-scraping deadlifts).

Thoughts on e2: Ton Jones isn't "heavily tattooed". He's just heavy. My fiancee's 81yo Jewish Bubbe used to have the same sunglasses that Chriss Angel... errr.. Navarro is wearing on the car challenge. Peck calling James "hillbilly" was funny. Al Fliction's glasses are stupid. As stupid as Al Fliction. I want to see Peck and Nunez tattoo a pig in a 32* meat locker, pinstripe a car and braid Navarro's hair to match Al's goatee. I want to eat crawdaddies with James at a hoedown. I can't believe the producers didn't have a backup for psoriasis guy other than two tons of fun. I feel bad for having watched another episode.

  46. Hey Folks: I am starting a leg sleeve (s) with Stuart Cripwell. I am getting tattoo about once about every other week and you can see what we have done so far below. For the first few pieces, I just picked stuff I liked and had it tattooed in spots I thought would fit my body well. Now, I still pick out the piece but Stuart outlines the negative space [ex: the empty slot of skin between two tattoos] on tracing paper. He then draws the piece, adding and taking away, so that it fits in the outline. Best, Dellwood P.S. I am in the market for good set of kneecap tattoos ideas. I know there is a thread on this but was hoping for some more suggestions taking into consideration negative space, traditional style tattoos. I have been looking at Spider Webb's books of traditional American body suits and the knees are always hard to make out. From what I can see, though, it seems like suns, nautical stars/hexes, spider webs, and elephant heads were pretty common.
