I believe TAM is only helping with advertising. New Era has been brought on as a sponsor. Episode 2 will be up tomorrow! should be a good one, it has to do with the WW2 era and the beginning of tattooing as an 'industry'2 points

what are your thoughts on the use of slang and terms that folks use to try and make tattooing sound cool? as an example i don't like the use of the terms tat, tats, or tatted up. i think that the word tattoo is cool enough and has always had a certain power to it. there's not really a need to attempt to make it sound cooler or clever by shortening it or adding z's instead of s's. i don't like gun for a tattoo machine either, but do find it amusing when people use it and sometimes i'll say "do you mean a tat gat?" so are there terms that you do or don't like as well as does it give you an idea of the type of person you're talking to when you hear them use certain slang?1 point -
I've been looking at a lot of tattoo cover-up pictures recently and figured it'd be cool to see what cover-ups LSTers have both gotten as well as tattooed. So if you have before and after pictures please post them up. Here's a recent one I found on Sarah Schor's Blog from King's Avenue in New York. I really like the use of the hair in this lady head to cover-up the old tattoo lettering. For me I enjoy seeing cover-ups that could stand on their own without being a cover-up. What I mean is yes the old tattoo is not visible but had you not had to have it placed where it is you would get in anywhere and anyways. Lets see 'em.......1 point

I want to turn PECKer's interview into a drinking game, in which you take a drink every time you hear the word "Tat" or "LSD"1 point -

There is a really wonderful tattoo by Valerie that isn't up anymore, so instead I will go for second place, which is a tattoo from back in March by Thomas Hooper. It's probably not objectively his best tattoo of the year, but I really love the choice of subject for this chest piece. It is a far less obviously aggressive animal choice than you tend to get on chest pieces, which is great because swans are as hard as fucking nails. I like the wing positions and it's webbed feet.1 point -

Armbands that connect are bad luck. Variation: Armbands that connect can cut off the circulation and your arm will fall off. Face/hand/neck tattoos are illegal. I always feel bad posting right after Stewart. He goes into so much detail that it makes my two sentence posts seem lazy. Perhaps by mentioning this fact it will add a little bit of 'meat' to my post and make it seem like I have more than a ten word vocabulary.1 point -

My cover up went from this: to this: Because the original tattoo had a lot of black in it, and colours all over the place, I honestly had no idea if it would work out but figured I'd ask anyway. I am pretty farkin happy to say the least!!! (and yes that is Venom lol)1 point

y'know, i like the squid pant's name for leg tattoos. i don't even like the term sleeves for arm tattoos. sure there are proper sleeves worked out on someone as a full arm tattoo. but if i'm out somewhere and somebody says, "ooh, can i see your sleeves?" i think, "fuck off, retard", unless it's a hot girl, but i would still think she is stupid, but i would use her stupidity as an edge to get her to sleep with me. because you have to be pretty stupid to sleep with me. and customers that come in for a "sleeve", or thinking "i want to get a tattoo here and turn it into a sleeve someday", annoy me to. they're just tattoos.1 point -

I'll pinprick that som'bitch on you man. Free of charge. That will make me a tattooer and I can use jargon with full autonomy! The original art is available for $5000, but for you... for you I can sell it for $0.471 point -
"gun" for a machine is really the only thing that bothers me. I like to use the term "work" for tattoos. Kind of a broad definition refering to "work of art" and just plain "work" because getting and giving tattoos is work.1 point
