  1. Me and my wife both have this same tattoo (same but different), because we always thought he looked a lot like a kewpie doll. Mine was done by Justin Dion and hers was done by Mario Desa. Of course I also got a hot stuff devil for him too because of his not so cute times. I really like that rib piece that Scott Sylvia did with hot stuff riding a panther and kewpie riding a white tiger. I thought that was really fun and traditional but still worked well with Japanese work. Obviously wouldn't work for the chest but there is a pretty cool hot stuff in this book wearing a kimono with some background that would be a good idea for one chest panel. If the book wasn't at the shop I just take a pic and post it. tattooflashbooks.com - Jerome "Tilt" McCulloch - Classic Flash 2: In 5 Bold Colors

  3. Every time I take a new favorite photo of my daughter, it's just a few weeks or months tops before it's replaced by another. Part of that is because she changes so much--she's not quite two and a half, so she has many, many more changes in store. But that's why I never wanted to get a portrait of her. I knew that she'd change over and over. That's fine, of course--it's what kids do, and there's something to be said for capturing a moment in your kid's life in a tattoo that will last to you 'til the end of your days. As for me, I got her name tattooed on my wrist by @Juan Puente when she was about two weeks old. I look at it every day and love it so much. My wife recently got our daughter's name on a banner under a little kewpie, and I'm so happy that I get to look at it every day: Cripwell Kewpie | Tattoo Gallery | Last Sparrow Tattoo

    finer things in life

When this started I was thinking that this city looks strangely familiar, then It finally clicked that some of those skyscrapers are here.... cool video. Fun fact if you guys don't know this already, tokyo tower is nothing really special, they have tons of mini towers that look the same all over Japan. Just a broadcast tower for radio and tv.... but now that everything is going digital they have made Sky Tree, and that is something special, the largest tower in the world. Total size 634m (2,080 ft) to the tip of the tower.

    best shops???

How about Mike Perfettos in Bensonhurst, Goldfields in SF, Kadillac Tattoo in Philadelphia, Crazy Eddies in Philadelphia, Tattoo Peters in Amsterdam, all great shops that have been around a long time and are crammed with tattoo history. R and D tattoo in Queens is floor to ceiling with hand painted NY style flash. These shops have been worked and are steeped in tattoo mojo. On a Monday Shamrock in Hollywood has Mark Mahoney, Freddy Negrete and Rick Walters, thats over 100 years of tattooing there and its a great lookin shop. Spotlight in Hollywood is another great shop with real character and a waiting room with 4 walls of hand painted Bob Roberts flash. Bert Grimms on the Pike R.I.P. was the benchmark for all tattoo shops and when I went in there I knew there was no way I was leavin without gettin tattooed.

  12. You never saw it.... shame on you D, I though your nose for alcohol would have brought you to Roppongi, and from roppongi you have a very clear clear view of it in Azabu Juban. P.S: Don't go to Roppongi. It's where dreams go to die.

    pinky yun...

Crazy it has been a whole year since Pinky has passed. First pic was taken at Dragon Tattoo in 1983, second in 2008 when State of Grace Convention was in San Jose. No matter how many times my boss told him he lives in Oregon, Pinky insisted the whole time he lives in Washington. RIP PINKY!

  16. Buying a king size print from one of your favorite artists, getting it framed properly, hanging it on your wall and taking two steps back. I´ve been staring at the original hanging by Marius´ station for hours while getting tattooed, so when he decided to make giclee prints of it I had to rape my wallet and buy one. Stoked!

  25. In my mission to secretly become the norwegian eqivalent of @hogg I´ve decided to rip off all his tattoo ideas, shave my head and grow a beard. My beard-growing abilities aren´t up to par yet, despite me turning 30 in three weeks, but I managed to steal one of his filler idea´s the other day. Worst thing is I even ripped off the placement, haha!

  26. I had Ben Grillo jam in a little black and gray skull in a rose between some other pieces on my arm. I'm very happy with it. He also added an itsy bitsy spider and some single-needle webs on my elbow:

  27. on my chest I did a bunch of little single line stuff in between the stars and dots. I did a dagger, an anchor, a whiskey bottle, and some arrows. I don't know if it was the best idea, but the spots I had left were too small for a real tattoo but too big just to star and dot IMO. Shitty pictures I took them all myspace style with my phone.

  37. Yep, and it didn't work either. The electro magnetic dual coil was around long before the O'Reily patent and even Samuel didn't use it as the case of O'reily vs. Getchel proved. In the case where Getchel was defending himself from O'Reily, Getchel proved that the patent that he was accused of profiting on was a tool that was neither effective or used by the public to apply tattoos. Samuel was interested in cornering the market on tattooing and was an amazing self promoter who ultimatly lost his case in court over the patent and the patent upon examination was somwewhat void to it being similiar and in effect no diferant than Edison's Papirograph pen in it's patent form. Non the less it was still the historical first patent of such an item, but to give credit where credit is due would be to say that Edison was the mastermind of our elaborate doorbell.
