  1. Stomach wasn't bad. Chad has a really even hand and made it as painless as a stomach tattoo can be. We have a little left to go, but after a few hours we had to tap out.

  3. When faced with tattoo ethics; I just ask myself if what I'm doing is harming tattooing in any way. I make it a point to give back more than I take. I can't imagine that you would be doing tattooing a disservice by at least helping this aspiring tattooer out with his aeseptic practices. It could be a legitimate opportunity for you to reduce disease transmission in a fledgling tattoo community. Beyond that, it probably wouldn't hurt to drop a few technical/artistic hints as well. Pandora's box is long past open, these days it's all about damage control. If you end up saving a few people from contracting a communicable disease, then I say it would be worth the effort. Also, it may be a positive experience from an anthropological standpoint. Just think; if Horihide hadn't exchanged ideas with Ed way back when, who knows where the fuck we would all be. I believe that if your heart is the right place, and your motivations aren't selfish you will be promoting our craft in a positive way. As far as selling equipment goes, I'm not sure how I feel about that. I would probably meet the guy and see what he is all about. I would consider just kicking down equipment that you no longer use if you deem him worthy. I realize that my opinions on information sharing may not be a popular one, and I certainly don't feel the same about scumbag scratchers, and tattoo schools, etc. here in the states. I'm definitely not about to going helping out my direct competition, and I am very aware of the importance of paying dues and earning your opportunities the old way. I'd love to hear what other tattooers have to say about this topic.

  5. In my mission to secretly become the norwegian eqivalent of @hogg I´ve decided to rip off all his tattoo ideas, shave my head and grow a beard. My beard-growing abilities aren´t up to par yet, despite me turning 30 in three weeks, but I managed to steal one of his filler idea´s the other day. Worst thing is I even ripped off the placement, haha!

So we've got a lady head thread, how about an entire lady body thread! Here's one that I've always liked! It's by Mike Wilson. And if you knew the guy in the photo, please know I mean no disrespect by posting this, he was a friend of mine to, and he had and did some awesome tattoos. I really like the simplicity of the design. The shading is so minimal yet so effective.

  7. The wife and I took another photo (with an iguana!) that didn't come out, so I can only offer up this lonely, squinty photo of myself representing LST down around Puerto Morelos, before I gave up on snorkeling and felt queasy on the boat. SUCCESS If you own an LST shirt you are now obligated to go somewhere different and take an awkward photo to post..

    Hello from Brazil!

What's up dude! Best advice I can give you is to first find either a particular person you want to get tattooed by, or what's easier, a reputable shop. And then talk to whoever is doing the tattoo and they'll help you with the details. (Unfortunately, I don't know much about tattooers in Brazil..) Good luck!

as much as i agree with the irony of metaphor in the case, upon second glance and the knowledge of local scratchers work in the dayton area..from a first hand observation. i'm not 100% sure that this isn't an attempt at "a scene from narnia"

How to fill my leg up..

A good tattooer is going to know how to place the tattoo in a way that the spacing makes sense. I have work from 5 different people on my legs and they knew how to place them. On my right leg where I have one big front facing shin tattoo, I have one on the opposite side (calf) and I'll be getting two on either side of the ankle. My other leg is split up differently-it's totally up to you.

    Tattoo revenge

I have seen this posted around for a few days and pretty much just wrote it off to typical trailer park bull shit, but now that I have taken a close look at the tattoo it's pretty damn funny. I know at least a couple of aspiring tattoo artists who have covered there girlfriend with their shit tattoos, but never quite so literally.

    First tattoo

The social D skeleton, probably in 1997 or so. Done by some old biker dude who probably smoked a whole pack of cigs during the tattoo. To be a 18 year old punk rocker, kept it to remind me of my roots.

  26. Haha, you bastard. Let me point out that 1) we're in different weight classes and 2) I can eat way more carbs than you, ya paleotard. ;) I will also concede that you, ahem, have a much bigger spider.

  28. @Iwar. My right forearm is black and grey or black with some red tattoos. I went with the soft kinda smoke thing and since I've got the four aces tattoo I had inverse hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs mixed in. These are shabby self-shot pics, but you kinda get the idea.

  29. I had Ben Grillo jam in a little black and gray skull in a rose between some other pieces on my arm. I'm very happy with it. He also added an itsy bitsy spider and some single-needle webs on my elbow:

  30. Something a little different - a nicely made video on Andrea Furci, tattooing at the Family Business in London. I think it was done for Movember. "I've watched his work really improve even in the time I've been over and back getting tattooed in TFB - he's a super nice dude.

  35. I started a sleeve on a kid, all the outline and shading and started color. Later he got someone else to color more... Said he wanted to get worked on but couldn't wait. He then asked to book more appointments with me. I told him to get his "new" artist to finish it... And never looked back.

  43. Richard said, More then an 1/8''- no bigger usually 1/4'' of an inch, is what he goes by... Always heard him talking about this even way back when.... And yes, client dictates their own preference, however, snaking and finishing shit that ain't yours or isn't cleared or at least given a heads up is pretty shitty behavior. DHopper: I would say have Bob call Richard...(heads up), and that would take care of itself... And you can't do shit about what another person does as a individual, but out of mutual respect for fellow tattoo artists you would think there would be some certain understanding as to what to do. Always exceptions to every rule and each instance is in it's own different. But, Richard just told the guys, do a 1/2 off any tattoo that needs finishing by the person snaking peoples shit... HAHA, it won't happen the boys like to bitch though, don't we all.
