  1. First sitting today. The secret to getting through it was cherry and strawberry Starburst. I think they made it hurt less...

  9. him having israel on his neck would make me think its probably a kids name or something more related to that than religion or political since his name is obviously not jewish nor do any of his other tattoos sound jewish. he has mostly pseudo religious tattoos, things that are common amongst folks who aren't really religious. but at least the media is finally starting to realize that tattooed people are dangerous. :)

  11. I should be used to this by now... But I'm obviously not. So a prospective customer came into the shop today ( she has been in before looking at portfolios, consultation etc.) Now she wants to begin her sleeve and wants to know if we would be interested in trading because she is currently in training for( insert whichever : esthetician, hairdressing, massage therapy etc. ) Really? So you think that would be equitable if I after years of tattooing would trade with you who have not even completed your training?

  14. Not exactly a secret in European tattooing, but I've always though Hexa from Precious Tattoo in Finland is one of the most versatile tattooists I've come across. Seems to be able to do several styles to a high level. In an interview I read the explanation was that it's a small country and there was a need to be versatile to handle all kinds of clients. That said, the traditional stuff is my favourite ... A good bit of humour and the occult injected in there. Maybe a little like Deno? This has always been a favourite tattoo of mine (not sure why)-

  15. Back when I started this thread I mentioned James Tex in the first post. He recently posted these backpieces on his website, and they made me want to mention him just one more time. Anyone want to join me for a trip to Calgary in the near future?

    Walking Dead

K, wasn't meaning to debate if it was the best TV show ever, but it is the one I'm waiting for with the most anticipation right NOW. Of course I'm also looking forward to Game of Thrones and True Blood. I'm also loving Dexter and Boardwalk Empire and SOA. But Walking Dead makes me bite my nails when I'm watching, and there's never a boring moment. Regarding the Wire, I got so upset about the kid (Wallace?) getting killed at the end of the first season that I decided not to watch it anymore. Six months later, someone gave us the second season full of jumps and scratches, with one episode stopping at some serious vital moment, so I stopped watching. I think I might re-visit the series soon though, just saw a few boxed seasons at a friends house today.

  21. Years ago there was a guy named Richard Speck who became USA's 1st televised mass murderer and the coverage and articles always ended with "and he had Born to Raise Hell tattooed on his arm", like it made him do it or he had some pre disposed destiny due to the tattoo. Even up into the 80's I was always shocked by articles written by "Top Psychologists" that were quoted to say that if you had a tattoo you were destined for prison.... I have a werewolf tattooed on me but I'm not a big Twilight fan,ha!

  27. vain ? no. I really don't get why it's not o.k. to sign your name on tattoo art but it is ok to sign your name on any other kind of art (paintings, sculpture, illustration, etc.) If the person getting the tattoo doesn't care that you signed it or wants you to sign it I really don't see where the problem is. Y'all need to get over it. After all, just because it's on you doesn't make it your art. It is and always will be the art of the person who did the tattoo.

  28. Had a friend who carved slayer in his arm when we were like 17, of course he let someone tattoo a swastika on him in their kitchen too the next week. I don't condone bad tattoos, but isn't that how you are supposed to get a Slayer tattoo? That being said there is a Slayer Eagle redrawn as a tattoo up in the wall in the shop just screaming for someone to get it as a back piece, but so far no takers.

Lagunitas just came out with a Doppelweizen, very uncharacteristic of them put delicious and in the neighborhood of 9% ABV. Also just picked up a couple bottles of Russian River's Pliny the Elder that I stumbled upon at the beer store. It was a limit of one bottle per person so I had to get out some disguises and return throught the day. Not really I just made the lady sell one to my 9 month old, Classy I know.
