I'm all for people getting whatever style of tattoo appeals to them the most, it's about personal taste and self-expression and owning your own body. There's not much point in getting tattoos because other people will like them, although that's obviously very common. I'm glad that there are all kinds of tattooers out there, "lid for every pot" and all that. Personally, I like tattoos to look like tattoos, even if you only see a little peek. If this girl were fully dressed and her shirt rode up a little, the glimpse of tattoo might look like scars from a terrible accident or surgery gone wrong. But I bet she loves it, and god bless her for that.3 points

Are bad tattoos our fault?

Just be polite, if it's not a family member or close friend. Do you think I'm fat? Do you like this hat? What's there to gain by being truthful? If they asked your opinion prior to getting the tattoo , that's another story.2 points -
Popped up in my youtube recommendations today. They know me too well...... I ain't trippin' though....2 points

I'm pretty easy to please. I like coffee flavored coffee, cigarette flavored cigarettes, beer flavored beer, and tattoos that look like tattoos. The Peter Aurisch stuff doesn't look like a tattoo. (IMHO)1 point

^ hopefully i'll get something from jaie in a week or two. also, another cool shop in austin is electric13, sent my little brother in there (he was going to get some terrible shit from a dude out his house that his friends know about), so glad we were able to convince him to go to a real shop. paco is a fun dude.1 point -
Wow. I wouldn't have guessed that anyone besides Pushead would've done that. That specific example is way too close to call it simply influenced. Grayson Perry. Yeah, it's a huge pic, but its the best way to see the whole quilt, and in its true color. *hm. apparently LST won't let me post it at actual photo size. click here to view it at a size to appreciate it1 point

If someone is talking to me about tattoos, it's usually because they've seen mine, so I make a point of telling them where I got them and who specializes in what. I think specialty is an overlooked point here- most good artists can do everything, but if someone was looking for Japanese work in town, for instance, how could I not mention Trevino? Sometimes it's not about just a good artist; it's a matter of the right artist for the job.1 point -

It does get tempting to tell people their stuff sucks if they are insisting that you go see their "self-taught-tatty-wizard" 'cause "you coulda got your sleeve done for a 1/4 of what you paid for it brah"...1 point -

love to get tattoo'd at perfection. jaie is the dude that does work i really dig, have a few from him, i've told friends here in austin about him. actually all the perfection artists are awesome. they're nice, do good work and i'm kinda surprised to see that most people don't mention that place. when talking about the other austin shops... katja is awesome, super nice and does great work. check this, and i'm not talking only the tattoo, i smile everytime i walk in there and see the druid (and mummy)... this is katja's work. just check the perfection website.
