After watching the new tattoo age video of Freddy and recently looking at the 222 Tattoo Shop thread I think we need a Temple Tattoo thread. Also for good measures let's make Tattoo 13 (Freddy's other shop with good tattooers as well) in the mix....For those who haven't seen it here is the interview Scott Sylvia did with Freddy Corbin for LST For me Temple Tattoo is where @Scott Sylvia outlined and did some of the shading on my lower left arm of a cobra with a Dia De Los Muertos mask on wrapped around a sacred heart. Also Freddy Corbin did the lettering on my collar bone which I've mentioned in the lettering thread was impressive to see him make a few lines on my collar then take the pen and start writing some amazing script straight on where within a few minutes said "take a look in the mirror", the man is impressive. But overall when I think of Temple I think of hanging out laughing with friends, after hours smoking inside, and shooting the shit. The beautiful religious art, altars, flash with very good and friendly tattooers inside. I remember in the early days trying to find something to eat close by on the weekends was a pain in the ass as the block/area used to be like a zombie ghost town on the weekends. For Tattoo Thirteen I instantly think of Chummy Alexanian and Hector Fong as well as the same vibe/atmosphere as Temple. Plus the infamous Friday the Thirteenth parties there. I've only been tattooed once there and it was by Freddy at one of the parties. I had a colleague with Parkinson's want to get tattooed so I gave him a list of tattoo shops to checkout and he decided on here so I went with him and Sonju tattooed him. The experience was great and Sonju was very patient and gave him a great tattoo which I can only imagine is no easy job in that situation and the uncontrollable moving. Lets hear your stories........5 points

I'm a long way from an expert but I suspect the "right" answer is that the "right" way is the way you like it/wanted it. So tell her to GFH'rself! :D4 points

The only one I've ever got that was unplanned is this one. I got it in 1995, in Harker Heights, Texas. I was stationed at Ft. Hood at the time. I walked into a tattoo shop (I think it was called Rooster's Tattoo) in the middle of the week when the place was empty. It was on a sheet of flash tacked to the counter as soon as you walked in the door. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. It had a touch-up a year or so ago, but it's never been altered.3 points

criminal activity and violence? they aren't taking over city blocks to run drug operations and murdering people in the street. more like taking meth and maybe smacking his ol lady around the trailer park type of violence. so who do you think is sitting at the fbi office with the short straw and gets to go undercover and live in a double wide?2 points

Excellent thread! I love, love, love Temple. I've been tattooed there by Freddy and Heath Preheim, and my wife has been tattooed there by Freddy, Heath and Jamie Ruth. We've also stopped by to see other friends get tattooed, or just to visit with Freddy when we're in the neighborhood. Those of you have been tattooed there know that things run on a slightly looser schedule, but it's all part of Temple's charm. Just sit back, soak up some great stories and enjoy your small place in tattoo history.1 point

I was coming home from the gym this evening when a bus went by with a girl sitting in the window with her face painted.....juggalo spotting on san pablo???? or just a halloween trick or treater finally making her way home two days after the holiday ended????? On a more serious note, I was rather disappointed while out on halloween and felt I was robbed as I didn't see any one dressed as a juggalo. I saw waldo though but I see him every year like playboy bunnies, gangsters, cats, vampires..... @Jake and I were guessing/hoping @dcostello might have dressed up like it and I wanted to text him to get to the bar1 point -

These paintings are done by a guy who calls himself Taco Werewolf. I wish I was in Florida so I could take a photo of the letter he sent me (I purchased a painting from him online). In the letter he mentions putting his finger print on the back of the painting as well as signing it with his real name too just to make sure. Anyways I think they are pretty great and at $100 I can see why they are all sold but one. If you go to his website there is a very detailed description of each painting expelaining why he painted it and what it means. He's just some weird dude who is really into Obama.1 point

Un-planned tattoos
gougetheeyes reacted to lving4today for a topic
I like the idea of unplanned tattoos. The ones I've gotten so far have had planning and a little more thought, but I really enjoy the thrill of seeing what's drawn up. I plan on doing this on the next couple unless of course the artist would rather have an idea first.1 point -

My friends and I were the 1% this year. We drank fancy beer (minus the PBR in my hand) and made fun of poor people all night. OPD thought we were hilarious and so did many of the protesters. Im surprised we didnt get beat up or thrown in jail.1 point -

Occupy Wall Street
gougetheeyes reacted to JAllen for a topic
the best way to hurt these institutions is to not invest in the stock market and pull your money out of the large banks and move it to local credit unions. support local economy whenever you can and dont use these bloated crooks for any of your investment/credit/financial needs. also write your representatives and tell them to vote on this bill as well as sign this petition. Audit the Fed also a couple of the banks bailed out for reckless mortgage practices were already federally funded lenders. and be aware that this isn't just a result of bush or obama or any particular party. everyone wants to talk about how great the economy was when clinton was in office but the market crashed in 2000 right after he left office due to the same types of corruption by banks, accounting firms, and stock brokerages. people were bailed out then as well just not done so in such a broad public manner. its a cycle that will continue to repeat itself until we control where our money goes.1 point -
