    Full Back Piece Thread

So yesterday was interesting. By the time I started my back piece I'd been up for 30 hours working. But the lining is pretty much done. Here's the link to his blog: Panther vs Tiger in Progress – Stewart Robson The sparrows were a suggestion from @Stewart Robson and from the Amund Dietzel book and I think an excellent idea. Can't wait to get the lining finished and start on the shading :)

    Choosing a tattooer?

We should hella get a booth set up there next year. Have a contest to see who will go. I suggest we sell soap, but in the shape of hatchet men.

    Choosing a tattooer?

A good way to choose a tattooer is to NOT go to the guy who did this tattoo.

  14. i was made to watch it cos my friend LOVED it and i absolutely hated it, the main reason was the main lead, hellen paige or something like that. she spoils every film she does, cant stand her style of precocious acting.

    Halloween Costumes?

I still dress up for Halloween. Who else does? I shall be Vulgar Display of Power-era Phil Anselmo. I just need to find the right confederate flag/marijuana shirt to complete the costume. And get "Unscarred" tattooed across my belly.

    Latest tattoo lowdown.....

@jade1955 I didn't manage to get any sleep as the train was delayed by 90 minutes so I had to keep people in Manchester updated. Finally got home around midnight after being awake for 41 hours. It was epic. I'm hoping the next session is less eventful

  34. I don't think you ever lose history altogether, people just have different areas of interest. When I did my first photography qualification, I had to do a year of assignments using different film formats, developing and making prints myself. I shudder to think of how many hours I spent adjusting various things, wasting paper and inhaling gnarly fumes. Hated it. All well and good as a base to begin learning from, or as a hobby, but I don't share the opinion of that educational institution that it's "vital knowledge", or that it was necessary to spend so much time on it. I straight-up prefer digital, and don't understand the attitude of some that that makes one "arrogant" or "ungrateful". Some people (to continue using the photography example) find that they learn a lot by using film. Or that they enjoy it. Others don't. And just as the K1000 seems to you to be "back to basics", there would've been a time when it was seen as all new-fangled and gadgety and set to destroy the livelihood of every photographer ever. Basically, learning happens differently for different people. If, at the end of the day, they're producing something effective, does it matter how they came to that point? How good someone is to have a conversation with, and how good they are at what they do, can be totally unrelated.

Nattie Light brings back memories of me puking the night of July 4th 2011 at the age of 45, right after me and my neighbor blew up his mailbox with fireworks. Seemed like a good idea at the time... We got that shit on video too. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is not.

to me, there is no difference between a hipster and people that must attain every douche tattoo that's hip this week by a tattooer who's the same. hipster track bike guy vs hipster steam punk guy vs hipster tattoo guy.........its all the same to me.

  41. I saw the social network at the cinema when it first came out and i found it very enjoyable. great dialogue, perfectly framed scenes, sharp and no boring/slow bits that made you lose interest half way through. anyway, i just got my hands on the extras DVD of the film and it's great to understand about the craft behind the scenes. some awesome insights into the acting, soundtrack and directing, i'd highly recommend watching both the film and the extras if youre into well made, good quality anything really :) also, the other night i finally saw fatal attraction for the first time. its always been one of those classic films i just kept missing and i thought it was great, will probably buy the DVD soon.

  45. I think traveling is a great quality behind a tattoo artist. Not just statewide, I mean like global travel. Also, the internet has played a huge part in choosing a great artist. Its so easy for them to get their work out for people to see... But I just like some one who likes to joke around and is serious enough to do a good job, but likes to have fun... I feel like I'm editing a match.com profile right now.
