no way in hell are we doing specials on tattoos or lowering our prices.up until about a year and a half ago i had never even heard of tattoo specials! "anyone can sell snake-oil on a sunday". we all stand by our work and thats it. richard is probably right that brownsville is the problem, and i had been thinking about that same thing. are there just some towns that arent tattooable? meaning that the majority just doesnt get it? even after they see all the bullshit on tv that might show people what descent tattoos might look like? so after taking saturday off, drinking lots of lonestar, smoking a shit ton of camels and doing alot of grumbling about this or that is wrong with tattooing, i descided to say fuck them. nose to the grindstone. im only worried about me and mine. thats all you can do in this situation, unless you have a knack for arson. its gonna get worse before it gets any better, all we can do is try to take care of tattooing and try to educate our clients. im not into the whole internet revolution in tattooing, this is the first time i have posted anything or joined a blog forum thingy. good positive feedback thank you all again. oh yeah fuck snitches. homie dont play that.3 points -

Richard: "Chris was given that name out in Japan but it has a double meaning... It's one who flies close to the sun... or something, like you can fly near the stars but never truly be... I dunno, I have heard that from a few people, but I think Chris is one of the hardest working, internally driven artists to hail from Texas. . . Or even this hemisphere... so **** those *******." I would like to Quote Bob Roberts... "I'd rather be a first rate Bob Roberts, then a second rate Nakano." Either way I give it up to anyone whom displaces themselves in order to undertake the traditions, and learn the protocol for anything they love or are interested in. It's good to see, and it's inspiring.2 points -

^^ hahaha I was looking at that photo and going through the list Juggalo Tattoo - check WWE Shirt - Check "Ass Kickin' Home Grown" Shirt - Check Pregnant Missus with Possible meth sores - check And then i realised this photo needed a mullet to be complete. At first i was saddened by the no mullet situation... and then I looked in the right corner behind the prime candidate for mother of the year and behind the stripy shirt guy - win.1 point -

I like cooking...mostly simple vegetarian stuff w/occasional fish. Here are the meals on the menu at my house this week: -Moqueca - Brazilian Fish Stew w/ Brown Jasmine Rice & Crusty Bread (Moqueca - Brazilian Fish Stew Recipe | Simply Recipes) -Black Bean & Jalapeño Nachos -Potato Parmesan Gnocchi w/Arrabbiata Sauce -Falafel, Hummus, and Falafel Chips -Twice Baked Cheddar & Broccoli Potatoes (Twice Baked Potatoes Recipe | Simply Recipes) -Pan- or Stir-Fried Tofu & Veggies w/Brown Sticky Rice -Amy's Pizzas (Mushroom & Olive/Plain Cheese) -Whole Wheat Penne w/ Butternut Squash Sauce I made the fish stew last night using swordfish. It came out so good. As for drinks--water, coconut water, pomegranate juice, Bragg's apple cider vinegar drinks, San Pellegrino Limonata, coffee!1 point -

Oh and for the record, please don't go into any tattoo shop that also sells tattoo machines and supplies to the public. It just means they aren't making enough money off their shitty tattoos so they have to rape the industry by selling machines too.1 point

this has been a constant problem in the area i work for years. Almost ten shops in four years, none lasted longer than 18 months. All have said personal attacks on us, as bad as imaginable(really), none ever true. Not an ethical bone in their bodies. best thing to ever happen to us! we have gained a more receptive and appreciative client base. all the manglers that would come in, have a place to go to get their $20 tattoos without bothering people really interested in having a tattoo and more than willing to pay. for every one person they tattoo, five of their friends come to us after seeing it. every time one closes its doors it more certifies our reputation. it takes younger people (18-21) a while to learn "cheap ain't good", but the good ones come around. I can happily say as well......i have never said a bad word about them to customers, any of them, ever! and people really notice and love it. i just say stuff like "Never heard if them." or "did they just open?". recent occurrence in the area is some are offering to finish tattoos we have started. for free even. but, if anyone goes for that option, i didnt really enjoy them anyways. its happened some and worked itself out in my favor. they dont know how much i really know about all of them and how they work. i have people who keep up with them and i keep tabs. but they always shoot themselves in the foot. it works out beautifully. P.S. f your landlord dude1 point

Sorry to hear, Jake. That sucks. That said, if you want tattooing to be made illegal and still plan to tattoo... (thus breaking the law)... why not just break the law and go break some hands? :D1 point -

His so called 'wife the apprentice' was also fake. He told us to look her up on Facebook, I did. Blank profile linked to only one thing, another blank profile. Glad he's gone. Too bad he can't be banned from the internet in general. He obviously has some underlying issues, or is the most bored person I've ever seen. Either way, good riddance.1 point -

I remember visiting Spider Web's shop on Broadway near Union Square Park. What a character..He always had young girls at his shop just hanging out. Those were the days where everyone was underground.I remember i called east side ink to find out their location. They told me to go to a certain phone booth which was near their shop and call them so they could see me,and then they told me where the shop was.I remember walking down the stairs to the basement studio, and there was no flash on the wall, just tattoos drawn up hanging in the hall, and in each artists room. What a magical place that shop was.1 point -
Wow that sounds really cool, MsRad! You'll have to keep us filled in, I really want to see it when it's done! :) Thanks about the new tattoo.. well, I say thanks, it's not like I did anything, lol. I always feel weird saying thanks when someone compliments my tattoos, it's like I'm saying thanks for someone else's work. But you know what I mean :) I love it. Didn't have a picture on my computer of my tattoo from Charlie, but thankfully everything's on the internet these days anyway. Hope this isn't too big...1 point
