  2. Me and my friends were downtown for the public memorial today. Over 200.000 people came to show their respect. Thought I'd share a couple of pictures I took... This is where the public came to lay down flowers, letters and light candles in memory of the victims. A police car parked right by the memorial spot. My thoughts and sincerest compassion goes out to the relatives and friends of the victims. Today was a sad day, but it felt good to be united with my fellow Oslo residents against these despicable acts. Public memorials were held all over the country today. 3. Thank you for this thread, has been lucky to avoid the comments going around about Amy Winehouse. When people are snarky and nasty I remember this monologue by Craig Ferguson about Britney Spears, obviously this is more serious situation, but strikes the right notes, then and now:

  4. I have a feeling a lot of us collect stuff outside of tattoos... most likely diligently and possibly obsessively. So this here thread is to talk about your collecting habits, should you feel so motivate. me: I grew up collecting comic books, movies and toys, and as an adult I've refined my toy collection exclusively to Pushead toys and related ephemera. I collect production pieces and originals. I was a skater kid when I was young and was obsessed with Pushead; he was an artist/musician/skater who wrote a monthly column for THRASHER called 'Puszone', was the singer for the band Septic Death, did single covers for Metallica... When I was 12, I sent him a letter, and he responded kindly, showering me with stickers, posters and the advice to 'keep drawing monsters'. 24 years later I was able to meet him, and again, he was kind and interested in my history as a 'fan'. I spend offensive amounts of money on one of a kind toys- he hand paints production pieces to make one offs and they're incredibly hard to get. But as someone who's met most of his heroes and was disappointed more often than not.. . being connected to someone who told me to keep drawing monsters is priceless. I keep a blog about my toys here: http://mypusheadaddiction.wordpress.com So... what do you collect?

  5. Hello I collect vintage tea cups and some painted canal ware, however the thing I like about tattoos is they dont add to the clutter in my totally overstuffed flat.

Oh I forgot about my business cards! I have a decent amount. Maybe when I get back to FL I can send you, MsRad, a few of my duplicates! I also have some antique photos but they aren't numerous, I have a lot of vintage/antique paper and they came in a big box of stuff I bought one time, there's some really rad ones of this old man and his very regale doggy. I put one up in my room and my dude for the longest time thought it was my grandfather hahahaha. He didn't realize it was just some random old guy I found at the thrift store. cgfsteak - I think I'm collecting dust to hahahahahhaha

Got the preview link this evening from the lovely Juliette- Shawn's right, it's really great! Dan comes across as someone who's really humble and who cares a lot about what he does, rather than having the whole "rock star attitude" people are used to with other shows, and I think it's really awesome. Grime next week- can't wait!

for those of us in recovery, it definitely makes you grateful to be one of the lucky ones. I can understand why a 'normie' may look down at her and pass blame because they can't understand the addict mentality without being one and suffering from it themselves. I'm sure it's a lot harder to hit bottom with a nice supply of money and unfortunately we see the demise of celebrities all too often, not to say that it doesn't happen just as much to us regular folk... I know at least 4 people that have passed in the last 2 months as a result, either directly or indirectly, to using drugs and alcohol. My 2 best friends that I got clean/sober with both passed away, one was 2 years into my recovery, the other was 2 months ago... For a dope fiend like me I know that one is too many and a thousand is never enough..... So far, 6+ years later I'm still one of the lucky ones and for that I'm grateful....

  10. If I was going to get a tattoo in LA I would go to either Spotlight Tattoo or Shamrock Social Club which are also recommended by this forum. Personally I would also recommend this shop, Dolorosa Tattoo, I think Alex Garcia would be your man to see here. You will find a lot of stuff on these shops websites but the portfolios at the shop are probably more comprehensive and up to date. I don't really go looking for Portrait guys, but I know there are people at these shops that can do what you are looking for or send you some place that can. Artists | The Dolorosa Tattoo Co.

i think you should get a justin burner portrait, the irony of getting a google portrait version would equal this: justin burner - Google Search and then of course this: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=justin+burner&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1280&bih=872&tbm=isch&tbnid=6_v6jjyofndSqM:&imgrefurl=http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/random-crap/1130-new-music-page2.html&docid=gEwxWmMWpdp22M&w=55&h=80&ei=5fstTt7QKIi3sQKv29zGCw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=142&page=1&tbnh=79&tbnw=54&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:19,s:0&tx=26&ty=59

It's out on the 27th, yeah. It's mostly about his store, his antiquing and his collecting. He used to collect StarWars toys.... I like him more already!

Jaycel, Thanks for putting that up. I got sober when I was 27, I was lucky. I can't say that I'm a completely different person, I'm not, but 14 years later I'm a lot more useful, and I have a life I couldn't have pictured at 27. I'm sorry that she didn't get the help, love and support that she needed, or find her own turning point, to get out of that hole. Amy Winehouse was once a beautiful, captivating, and incredibly talented girl, we'll never know what she could've brought to the world if she had survived and thrived.
