    For darker days....

Okay, now this thread is inspired by dcostello. He says that if someone will make a place for him to post his drunken pictures (and I guess rantings) he will post... So here you go. To start it off, I wasn't drunk, but it was a slow day at work so I sketched up this picture with the intent of making a nice old lady.. started writing the scripted and wrote a K (kill) instead of a H (help) so I said fuck it lets go with that... How about this place is for all of us non-artists to share some of our time when we are bored/drunk and doodling. [edit] also I know the h in how is capitalized when it shouldn't be. mistake when outlining.

Can I get an opinion on this

Are you happy with this tattoo? Did you flip through any of the galleries, threads, interviews or blogs on this website, or did you just start a new thread? I know this sounds mean, and you'll probably ignore it, but my advise is to not let this artist get near your skin again and start a new thread here that reads "Who in my area can fix this?". Sorry dude, I'm not trying to starte a flame war or offend you, just trying to point you in the right direction.

  3. I did end up buying the book! It's amazing and well worth the money I spent on it. At the time when I wrote that post I was trying to be a responsible adult and pay off my debts first. After months of not buying myself anything I treated myself to a new book! I am really really looking forward to that second volume!!

  5. These two lines say it all. He knows the general design you want (or perhaps specific design if you were adamant about certain details) and you should let him create HIS work from it. After all, that is why you picked him right? On a more practical note- abide by whatever you guys discussed when you last talked. I've had artists meet with me a week or two before an appointment to do a consultation, I've had people draw it up the day of, I've had artists say they were going to draw it but got busy and started drawing it when my appointment time was, and I've had artists draw 90% of it before I got there and finalize a few things when I arrive. Hell, I've had the same artist do a variety of those things so really it's however their schedule/desire permits. In all honesty, if you go to the studio unprompted by your artist you probably will not accomplish anything.

  6. as an idea, the concept is good... as an artist, i think i would prefer to work from the original picture. the original picture would have more read-ability. i would suggest bringing the original to your artist as well.

  7. Remember, as difficult as it may be to believe- there are many people out there who view many of our tattoos the same way. Hand tattoos, necks.

  8. Though we had a brief flirtation with trying to get Fratbros (fratbroz?) to call tattooers "Squids" cause they "fuckin shoot ink, man"... but that never really worked out. Would have loved to send in a bro to one of my friends and have them address him as a Squid. Haha

    good client behavior

good suggestions, dan! especially the fresh breath! also, shower and wash your feet if the tattoo is there!!! don't tell me about any depressing shit...like all the dead people your tattoo is for or whatever. sorry, but i don't need to hear about that 5 times a day i just want to do a good tattoo. not get bummed out. i know that sounds cold, but i do probably a thousand tattoos a year and every other person wants to tell me about the deep deep meaning of their tattoo...it's a bit much.
