First tattoo - what do you think?

I got this about a year ago, and I still don't love it. In fact, I really don't like it. The artist was highly rated, but I felt he kinda rushed everything - I didn't see a mock up of the design until right before I got it done, he didn't send me anything to preview, and I felt kinda pressured to just get it done as I'd paid and would lose my (not cheap) deposit. Foolish, rookie mistakes, I know.... What do you think? Anything I could do to improve? Considering removal O_o
