Kade W.
Is it a must for the first few days of healing? I’ve heard conflicting statements and opinions. Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/8498-aquaphor/ Share on other sites
Hogrider
No, some people dry heal. I use A&D ointment for about three days then switch to cocoa butter. Everybody has an opinion, use what works for you. Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/8498-aquaphor/#findComment-143791 Share on other sites
scottyg
If you're new to healing tattoos best to do exactly what your artist told you. Once you've had a few you'll get a routine down that works best for you. But yeah, generally they say aquaphor for the first 2/3 days, VERY light coating, then switch to a fragrant free moisturizer. But again, best to go by your artist's directions. oboogie
I use nothing. But if you're new, use the Aquaphor per your artist. Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/8498-aquaphor/#findComment-143795 Share on other sites
Gingerninja
I use tegaderm 3-4 days, then light aquaphor for three days then lubriderm. Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/8498-aquaphor/#findComment-143796 Share on other sites
JAC1961
I started using A&D then switched to Aquaphor because it's easier to get a thin layer, and we'll, I don't smell like a baby's butt either. lol Use it the first 3 days then go to Aveeno or Lubriderm. Dan
I use Palmer's cocoa butter as soon as I take off the saniderm, or right away if I don't use saniderm Hogrider 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/t/8498-aquaphor/#findComment-143806 Share on other sites
Runningriver
Different strokes for different folks, and I've done it both ways (nothing for a few days then lotion, and lotion right from day 1) and all have healed similarly.
