Sitting Still During Tattoo

Had two little tattoos with no problem as my tattooist rested his arm on mine so I couldn't move. Is this the best way ?

 

Asking because my meds can make me unstill sometimes and I have a big tattoo coming soon

Well, that's really up to your specific artist. There is no objective answer to that.

Just let your artist know before they start tatting you.

I'm guessing it's easier to hold down limbs i.e arms,legs,feet, hands than anything else.

I have a tic disorder- pretty minor one admittedly- but in general I don't sit completely still ever. I usually tell my artists up from that I am twitchy and I know I am twitchy and then I work on being still while they are tattooing and allow myself to move a little while they are getting ink ect... So far I haven't had a problem but off course there are degrees of this insatiable need to move around and I think some tics are more involuntary than others. Good thing to be thinking about in advance and best of luck.

You gonna be all good, just let your artist know before he starts and do tell if you feel like having a few minutes rest.

and maybe discuss a "safe word".

Been monitoring my " brain zaps " as they are called and they're so minor that it only affects my head every few hours for a split second, should be fine, will keep updated when I get my next ( bigger ) piece

Good communication is vital for your comfort and for letting your artist know what's up. Maybe even tell your artist that if you do or say something specific, that you need an immediate break.
