Etiquette

What is the etiquette for getting a tattoo from an artist in a shop where you have been tattooed by a different artist? I have a tattoo from a very, very famous artist.  I just found another artist from the same shop – not so famous, but I love his work (different from the traditional work of the first artist).  So, what is the etiquette – I gather the first artist is rather temperamental.

If the first artist says anything about it, reply, "screw you".

Your money, spend it how and where you like. If the first is the shop owner or co-owner he's getting a cut anyway. I have a lot of respect for artists, but they're not the end all, be all.

It's not a big deal. I have work from different artists at the same shop. Go for it!

Yep. Me, too. In the rare case that they might be butt-hurt that shouldn't be your problem and they shouldn't express that they are.

It's not like changing hairdressers. My upper right thigh is my Spider Murphys tribute. I have work from Theo, Paul and Laurent and as soon as Erik is ready, I'll add something from him!

OMG, yes. It's like an insult to change stylists in the same salon. Thankfully, I haven't had that issue with tattoo artists.

Well, even as a boy I'd never dream of changing from the woman who has been cutting my hair for the last ~20 years (wow!) in the same salon.

Although she is about to fully retire, so I will have to find somebody else in a few months...

3 artists have worked at the studio I visit and I have work off all three artists.
