Image ideas for text.

Hey.

First of all I'm new to this forum. So, hello! 🙂 

Ok så I'm getting a new tattoo (9.9.2018 booked) 
And i have a specific tattoo base i know, but now i thought i want some advice/hints what would fit in  (my head is totally jammed) 

So im getting these texts: Honor, Compassion, Truth, Wisdom, Courage, Loyalty, Respect.
That is 100% sure, swells text fonts are locked in.
But.. the tattoo will be dull if there is only text, and id like some ideas of what kind of image/ (s) would fit in with that.. 
Size of tattoo is about Shoulder tattoo that reaches towards the elbow and to upper back and front. (hope you get the picture of location, my hand is swinging ike crazy here trying to show you)

Will add a picture of the text fonts here aswell, where i got the idea from. (the text "seven virtues" might not include in tattoo, depends a lot of what filler / image(s ) i eventually will do.. 
Hopefully i can get at least som kind of hints or maybe pictures of same stylish tattoos.. 🙂

Oh im a Guy, and theme of the tattoo could be more symbolic, not just tribals and stuff 🙂

Welcome. Here's my two cents and I'm not trying to be a downer, so please take my opinion in the right way. This is way too much. Unless you have someone who KILLS lettering, you won't be happy. Has your artist seem your idea? 

I would invite you to consider going with maybe one or two of those words that mean the most then put the rest of the meaning into an image. Think about why those words resonate with you and how you landed on this idea.

Yeah, there is alot of historical threads on same/similar topic - but if you're set on text then the real question is are you capable of picking a serious artist. Who've you got?

The standard response to the image part of the question = It's not about expressing to strangers what your thought or emotion is - it's about picking an image that resonates with YOU.

As @Gingerninja and @SStu said, you need to get someone who just kills text or it's going to look like crap. Unless you are getting that image you showed on your back, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Even then, that's a lot of fine detail going on. I doubt that would look good wrapped around your arm and should and down to the elbow. 

I recommend doing a lot more research. You can google tattoo image text to see what other people are doing. Not to rain on your parade, but this project just has disappointment written all over it. I would make sure your artist has something for you to look at before you start, this isn't something you can wing and freehand at the last minute.

Hey thanks for de advice so far. 🙂

I got an local artist here (im in Finland) we discussed this matter when i booked for the tattoo, and we will make plans before starting so the issue of "too much text" is known, she had some idea and was going to make a sketch for me. 
I would've been worried if that topic wouldn't have came up here 😄

I trust her professionalism (is that a word? 😄) 


Someone said the image should resonate to me, and i totally agree. 🙂
Fact is, asking someone "what tattoo should i get" should be answered -> None if you don't know what you want..

I actually had an Eagle, Lion and a Wolf in mind, Just has to do the research of which one truly pictures my personality most.  Then again everybody has those, and i really would want something unique 🙂 

Well see about the location, maybe it will be a full back tattoo,

And hey, bring on all Roses and Rice 
Thats why im asking questions here , none offence taken 🙂

Well i had that in mind actually, the problem is i can't find any good symbols that mirrors the words. 🤨

Wisdon is easy = Owl.. 
Truth, might be scale or something, but i think a scale is more of Justice.. 
Honor, that' hard.. Maybe an animal, a Lion? 
Compassion, hmmm a Rose? 
Loyalty is hard to put into an image too.. :/ 
Respect.. 
Courage. that could actually be more like a symbol of mind because courage comes from sub-counciousness  :D 

Oh. and the texts are not supposed to be in one big pile like in the picture i added.

They will be split up, Honor, truth and loyalty will come near each other, 
Compassion and wisdom are a pair, and Respect and courage a pair. 

Or if im boring i will just list them on my back (joking) , because those texts or symbols to them are what i want. 
They mean so much to me. There is always room ro fill in with something later.

One thing not to worry about is "being unique"....unless you or your artist just rips off another persons work, your tattoo will be unique. The classics are the classics for a reason. Have you considered a Battle Royale? A bit of a different take on the meanings but could be cool (do an internet search). Or if you are religious, maybe a Rock of Ages. I am throwing some classic ideas out just for fun.

My personal opinion is that there are a lot of different fonts in way too little space. I'm not sure if that will look nice. As other people have said, you need a really skilled tattoo artist to make this look great. You don't want all the letters to look all blurred.
