Help with new tattoo design

Hi guys,

I am about to make a tattoo and i want your opinion.

Should i keep the word 'family' or should i remove it? Or maybe do you have another word about family and bonds.

I like the style but not so much the sound of the word.

I think it would look better If the bottom of the board was waves instead of the stripes and they broke out of the edge of the board like the palm tree. I'm not a fan of the family as is, but then I'm not a huge fan of text in tattoos personally. I think it could work a bit better in a different colour and placed above the palms.

I like the stripes on the board, it's a surfboard and it should look like one IMO

Take out the word Family. I like the stripes on the board, too.
