2011 The International London Tattoo Convention

Recommended Posts

I have seen/heard some amazing tattoos, stories, what-have-yous over the years of this convention but am yet to make it. My sister will be out that way filming a movie for a few months so I am trying to see if the dates line up between that, work, and school so I can maybe attend. Anyone going? I saw some LSTers on the list which is an amazing list of tattooers and tattoo shops. If you are tattooing, how and when can people start making appointments with you?

6th Annual International London Tattoo Convention (2011)

September 23, 24, 25

Welcome to the Tobacco Dock

London will celebrate the 6th edition of the tattoo convention this year. This year the organizers have gone all the way to change to convention even further. Opening up areas, rooms and attractions to offer more to meet the most demanding needs of all the tattoo fans who look forward to this yearly appointment, which has become one of the main events in the European tattoo circuit. The numbers speak clearly: 20,000+ visitors for the 2008 and 2009 convention with increasing media interest, this is what makes London the number one event in the world.

The London Tattoo Convention was covered by newspapers and TV news programs as one of the most important events of the entire cultural season in London. In the first three editions, the enormous flow of visitors forced the organizers to reconsider the spaces and the first new element of 2007 edition was the new location, the event has continued to go from strength to strength. After three years at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, the convention was moved to Tobacco Dock, a beautiful Victorian building totally renovated, located in the heart of London, a few minutes from the Tower Bridge. It was built in 1812 as a deposit and market for the tobacco coming from India. The building underwent renovation starting from 1990 and has now become one of the main centers for events. It was in fact nicknamed Covent Garden of the East End.

I've bought tickets for the Saturday. Last years convention was a bit special on a personal level. I got a girls name tattooed on me for the first time. My wifes name a heart and swallow tattooed by Emiliano Liberatori. I know it's supposed to be the kiss of death but after 36 years I thought fuck it.

It was quite a fleeting visit for me last year but as it was on the first day. But from what I saw it looked pretty amazing. I am going back there this year with the missus. We are both getting tattooed in the week running up by a couple of artists that will be at the convention. I am really looking forward to it.

I think that's really cool you got your wife's name on you- after 36 years, it can't be the kiss of death at all!

Hopefully, I'll be attending this year! I'm also hoping that a friend's filming schedule will line up with the convention. I'm not sure if it will, but surely I can endure the Megabus to get there. Well, I hope I can endure the Megabus. Actually, I won't, and I'll be whingey until I get there. But hey, it'll be worth it!

I think this is a largely forgotten (or unspoken) benefit of conventions, that some folks will come into town early or stay later to work a few days at a shop. Definitely benefitted from this myself! And especially nice if you're the kind of agoraphobic idiot I tend to be..

I would have liked to go this year (and maybe meet up with some forumites) but I'm on holidays while this is on... (Japan - also admittedly bloody well looking forward to that too).

Ross Nagle from All Star Ink apparently has some slots left, judging from Facebook, if anyone fancies getting some bad-ass trad work.

    • For a smooth transition from the airport to your final destination, dependable airport taxi services are a must. Whether it’s a taxi from Southampton to Gatwick Airport or a transfer from Newcastle to Heathrow Airport, having a reliable taxi at your service transforms the often-stressful airport experience into a comfortable, efficient journey. A trustworthy airport taxi offers the advantages of punctuality, professionalism, and personalized service, all designed to cater to your specific travel needs. Here’s why opting for an airport taxi is the ideal choice for a seamless terminal-to-doorstep experience. Punctuality for Peace of Mind When it comes to airport transfers, timing is everything. Dependable airport taxis prioritize punctuality, ensuring you get where you need to go without unnecessary delays. From picking you up promptly at your location to monitoring your flight for early arrivals or delays, professional drivers work diligently to make sure they’re there when you need them. For instance, if you’re traveling from Southampton to Gatwick Airport, a professional taxi service can alleviate the stress of navigating traffic, handling luggage, and calculating parking times. A reliable taxi service also understands the pressure of making a flight on time. Experienced drivers know the quickest and most efficient routes, helping you avoid peak-hour traffic, road closures, and other common delays. This attention to detail ensures you arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare, so you can check in and relax before your flight. Comfort and Convenience An airport taxi provides a level of comfort and convenience unmatched by public transportation or self-driving. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, airport taxis cater to your comfort needs by providing well-maintained, clean, and spacious vehicles. From a solo traveler needing a bit of peace and quiet to a family with luggage, airport taxis accommodate passengers of all types with flexible vehicle options. Booking a taxi from Newcastle to Heathrow Airport also means you don’t have to worry about finding parking, hauling your luggage around, or navigating unfamiliar roads. Instead, you can sit back and relax, knowing that a skilled driver will handle the logistics for you. With convenient online booking options, you can secure your ride in advance, eliminating the hassle of last-minute planning. Simply schedule your taxi for the date and time that suits you, and enjoy a seamless journey right from your doorstep. Safety and Reliability You Can Trust Safety is paramount when choosing an airport taxi, especially for longer journeys. Dependable airport taxi services employ professional, licensed drivers who prioritize passenger safety at all times. From the taxi from Southampton to Gatwick Airport to the drive from Newcastle to Heathrow Airport, experienced drivers ensure a smooth and secure ride. Licensed drivers are not only trained in safe driving practices but are also familiar with local routes, airport layouts, and terminal procedures. They know where to drop you off for quick access to check-in counters and provide assistance with your luggage if needed. These services often include safety checks and regular vehicle maintenance, providing passengers with confidence in their choice of transportation. Transparent, Upfront Pricing Dependable airport taxi services are known for their transparent pricing policies. Rather than dealing with fluctuating fares or hidden fees, you can expect an upfront quote that reflects the full cost of your journey. For example, if you’re booking a taxi from Newcastle to Heathrow Airport, a reliable airport taxi company will provide a clear, honest estimate that covers the entire trip. Transparent pricing offers peace of mind, allowing you to travel without financial surprises and budget effectively. Additionally, airport taxi services often offer different vehicle options to suit both luxury and budget-conscious travelers. Whether you’re looking for an economical sedan or a spacious vehicle for a family trip, you can choose the option that best fits your needs without worrying about hidden costs. A Dependable Service for Every Traveler Whether you’re a frequent flyer or an occasional traveler, an airport taxi service can elevate your travel experience by providing a safe, comfortable, and convenient solution from the terminal to your doorstep. Services like a taxi from Southampton to Gatwick Airport or from Newcastle to Heathrow Airport cater to a variety of travel needs, from business professionals to families on vacation. Conclusion Airport taxi services offer a dependable, stress-free way to travel from the terminal to your destination, handling every detail with professionalism and care.
    • Tattoos can take 4-6 weeks to heal, longer if they went in rough. Give it a couple of months.
    • Hey guys. I recently got a tiger tatt on my arm around 12 days ago. My aftercare consisted of washing and applying aquafor on days 1-7 then non scented lotion from day 7-12. The tattoo still has hard scabs and becomes very dry 15 mins after applying lotion. I also see some of the like work is turning into a blueish/greyish color. Should i be worried?
