Paired spikes / nails - meaning

Hey guys-

I've seen this motif used as a filler regularly. A pair of thick spikes or nails.

I assumed they had a religious connotation - crucifixion nails maybe... but I gather they could have a more left hand path meaning also.

Googling it turns up things about nails in the beautician sense.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

Inconceivable. If there's one thing I have learned at Last Sparrow it's that every tattoo has to have a meaning.
