Ribs or thigh?

Planning a skull tattoo this summer, but cannot decide whether to go ribs or thigh with it. I think but don't know for sure that I can take the discomfort of a rib piece.

Any advice appreciated!

If it's local then you can break it into two sessions if you tap out on your ribs but I bet you can deal. What size are you considering and where do YOU really want it?

Ooh good point! I am thinking fist sized but could go up or down. Tat is in August so still in the thought experiment stage

Fist sized ribs doesn't sound too bad. Go for it.

For that size, I would go ribs. My ribs aren't done, but I think the thighs are such prime real estate and look super badass with a big piece.

Actually, now I'm getting all kinds of ideas for thigh pieces I could do. Ribs is winning, unless I do a top of foot or abdomen placement.

As a thick-thighed girl, yes, you thighs are definitely prime. And they will look infinitely better with a big, gnarly tattoo over them. :)

I totally agree with this, keep thighs for a nice and big piece.... but in an other way, big piece on ribs are really cool too!

yea, i was gonna say - a big rib piece looks pretty awesome too. I'd go ribs.

Have you considered the knee cap? A fist sized skull would make a really cool knee capper and it fits the space perfectly, just saying.

Yeah, a skull with the crown broken out and ferns growing out of it. Could be made to fit the contours well as a rib/ab piece. 2 sittings probably.

Ribs, the pain isn't that bad. I think my thigh was just as painful. Plus the rib cage is more attractive. I would go the size of a small plate though so you can see more of the detail. Best of luck
