Hi,

My name is Joe, and hopefully in the next month I'll be getting my first tattoo! :)

I'm having a very difficult time deciding exactly what I want, it's a very special tattoo in that it's not only my first but also an "in memory" piece for my wife who passed away a year ago.

She loved daisies, but it's been difficult to find a good balance of something that looks good but also takes into account that I'm a guy and girly daisies just won't work. It doesn't necessarily have to be a daisy mind you, but it was a nice thought. I've also seen things that are angel related that I liked, as well as Sailor Jerry style hearts with wings that were pretty cool.

If anyone has any advice of sites I could look at for ideas, or designs that they may want to share or even sell that would be wonderful. So far I've looked at tattoofinder and a couple others with no real luck. I've been very picky about the design, but I want it to be the best possible for my late love.

Thanks in advance and God bless.

Joe

1st = Do you know what "style" of tattoo art you want?

next = Keep in mind that whatever you end up picking - it doesn't have to be a "traditional" representation of a memorial tattoo. Anything that reminds you specifically of her or something you two shared and which brings a smile to your face will work best.

Go visit some shops in your area and look at the flash, and explain to them you would like to see some imagery for a memorial tattoo.Sometimes just a simple rose and heart with her name in it is a good design. But the most important thing is go to a good tattooer. What city do you live in,we might be able to recommend a good shop.

Also, there are tons of awesome tattoos to browse through right here! In threads like "latest tattoo lowdown" or in the site's gallery section. Might find some inspiration there. I agree with finding the best tattooer possible though; a memorial should be of a standard that the person being memorialized deserves.

I am sorry for your loss. There is nothing wrong with a man wearing a daisy, IMO. A strong black & gray with dates would be a powerful statement. Your artist will be able to help you with formulating your ideas into a workable tattoo. I'd not go in with your ideas too firm, because watching my ideas turned into an image was the best part of my first tattoo. (Which happens to be a girly flower :) )

Sstu, I'm fairly open about the style, but I do want to think more on what else reminds me of her, thanks for the advice. Joe, I live in Alexandria Louisiana, but I'm only a few hours from New Orleans, I've heard there are supposed to be good Artists there though I haven't had one recommended by name yet.

A big thanks to all of yall, there's some good pointers to think over, I'd like to see what one of the locals can come up with too.

How about a heart with daisies surrounding it with her name inside the heart..

Thanks again to everyone for the input and great advice, I think I've found what I want; it's a black and white daisy growing out of a red heart, just really spoke to me cause she'll always be in my heart, you know? Thanks y'all
